I went for my second time today and had maybe the best massage I have ever had! My upper back and neck were very tight and tense and now I feel great! I will definitely keep going back! read more

Really disappointed, I've Been a customer for years. Very rude front desk girl and it's so loud with phones going off. Not worth the money at all!! read more

Excellent place for a Massage! Yen, the Manager, greeted me on my first visit and shared the Menu of all services available. I wanted a Swedish Massage for 75 minutes and she suggested Hot Rocks in addition to the massage and I agreed. The Hot Rocks treatment was a definite PLUS. Lucy did a wonderful massage and I can't wait to go back. This was my First massage with NIRVANA and I highly recommend this business! read more

Atmosphere is nice but that is as far as it goes. The man who massaged me coughed, sneezed and burped throughout the entire 60 minute session. Then he had the audacity to shake his head in disgust at the 30% tip I left him. There are plenty of other places on TO where they appreciate and respect their clients. read more

Love this place!!! Seriously, some of the best massages I've had. I love the add-on choices. I can customize what I'm in the mood for.

This was my first time at Nirvana Spa and it was an amazing experience. The massage therapist was so accurate, and attentive to my tense areas. I will definitely be going back all the time! A great find. Everyone was very kind and I made an appointment and they took me right away! // I also came with my dad and he felt the exact same way! His therapist was very accurate as well. read more

Need some TLC? Have a knot in your back? This is the place to go. This is by far my favorite Chinese food massage place. A 60 minute massage will cost you $20 and 90 minutes $30. I always go for the 90 minutes; heck, why not for only $30? I think this place is better than most fancy massages I've had (e.g. Massage Envy, Burke Williams, etc.) especially for the price. Unlike most Chinese foot massage places, this place has flat laying massage beds. It is clean and they don't talk your ear off. They ensure the place is appropriately dimly lit and quiet to lure you into a relaxed state and the massages are just right. They are attentive to your requests in spite of the fact their English isn't fluent. I've been here more times than I can count and I can say that I've never been disappointed. I usually find myself dozing off when they are working on my feet because it is just so relaxing. They offer other services like facials, full body massages, a sauna booth, etc. but I tend to stick to the foot massage. The full body massage in the private curtained off rooms are good but not much difference from the foot massage. Save your $ and stick to the foot massage; it's the best bang for your buck and so good you'll feel like your are a new person when done. Walk-ins are welcome but this place is quite popular and at times are full to capacity. I am a regular here so when the foot massage room (with 6 beds) is full, they take me to the full body room to accommodate. Tip well, as they deserve it, and they will remember you and make sure you are well taken care of. read more

AMAZING.i just had the Thai massage with Tina ($75 for an hour - oils included). This spa is just lovely and a truly healing place. Tina massaged my back, arms, legs and feet, plus forehead, head, face, ears, hands from the largest muscles to the tips of my fingers and toes. She also gave me some great stretches (shoulders, chest, arms, hips). I am so delighted...you will be too. I feel so good after this amazing experience. The spa itself is very clean and zen-like. Cozy, peaceful...nirvana! Yen will greet you at the front desk and is very caring and knowledgeable. Treat yourself! read more

I went in with a back ache and left with a bigger one. Did not really enjoy the massage.

Came to get an hour couple massage with my bf here for his birthday and everyone was extremely nice! We got a private room to ourselves which was really comfortable for the both of us. This was our first time ever getting a massage and we were happy with the work that we got! Totally recommend! Very professional read more

really bizarre place honestly. the atmosphere and decor in the place is very busy, dark and ominous feeling, closest thing that this place looks like would be an opium den. I should have trusted my gut and left from the feeling I got upon entering. the owner/manager is very to-the-point and rude. she doesn't create a relaxing experience at all. she ended up convincing my boyfriend and I to get the couples room even though we just wanted reflexology ($20 per person). don't get me wrong that's a great price...but in the end, we were charged $40 per person because of the "private room" and we only got our feet and legs worked on. I'm writing this review because I woke up this morning with bruises on the back of my legs. my masseuse was a VERY heavy handed dude and I motioned for him to go easier several times, but he kept working the same area deep deep deep, like to the bone. something strange that happened was when he moved onto my feet, he literally tickled my toes in a very creepy, controlling, almost sexual way. no thanks! I felt like he knew jack s*** about reflexology and it was just an awkward, repetitive foot massage. also, the entire time, all I heard were rapid whispers and little laughs between the masseuses ... I left this place not feeling good about giving them $. will not being coming back. read more

Been coming here for many years pretty much every 2 weeks. Especially after traveling. Yan is great setting up the appointments and ensuring everything is perfect. Very relaxing rooms and many of the therapists are great, including Ivy and Lilly. Deep tissue (though if you want softer they'll do that) walking on back if you like, good amount of stretching too. I always feel great afterwards. Go for the 90 minute full body - you won't regret it! read more

I have been on 3 separate occasions. The treatments were all different and quite good. My dissatisfaction was with the financial end. When paying with cash; no problem (including a self-driven 25% tip). When I used a debit or CC they added 50% for tip without even asking me, then told me, that's they what is expected. I don't like this kind of business practice. I suggest using cash here - or finding out up front how they handle tips. read more

My husband's and my favorite spa for massages at the end of a long week. Very accommodating of requests/specific issues, peaceful ambiance, and good prices. Far superior to other places we've tried. read more

I've been going here for about two years. Very clean, great massage, and great price!!! The deep blue oil is amazing.

I did the infrared sauna here and it was great! I thought $30 for 45 minutes was a pretty good deal. The interior is beautifully decorated - like a dimly lit, whisper quiet opium den (in a good kinda way). A welcome escape from the TO suburbs. I love going to the Korean spa, so I'm used to all sorts of saunas, but what I really like about the infrared sauna is that it heats you directly instead of all the air around you, so you can get up to a much higher temp (mine got up to 129 degrees) but it's still comfortable to breath. I mean it's HOT, but overall it feels much more relaxing than restricting. I had no problem staying in there the full 45 min, when usually I can only stand about 15 min in a regular sauna. The staff is super friendly. The lady kept checking in on me and advised me to drink more water so I'd sweat more and even brought me bottles of water and refilled them for me. I appreciated their attentiveness. I paid by credit card and there was no extra fee or mandatory tip, as another reviewer noted. Afterwards you can take a quick shower in the bathroom next to the sauna. Which is good because you will SWEAT. Also, as another reviewer noted - while the sauna itself is private (one person at a time) it's not in it's own private room. They give you a lightweight robe to wear and a basket to put your things in, which you can see through the sauna door in front of you. Another bonus- they're 2 doors down from Lassens so you can pick up a kombucha afterward. : ) I'll definitely go back and maybe try their body scrub & sauna package next which looks awesome. read more

Visited for the 3rd time last week. I've had 1 day off in 3.5 weeks...so my back is in knots. Brought my friend Sophia who just finished her career as a student at USC...so we both needed some TLC. As usual...they were able to squeeze us in same day. I don't know how it's possible, but my experience at Nirvana Spa just gets better and better. I'm not a massage maven by any stretch...but the massage I received last week maybe the best massage I've ever had. How this tiny woman can be so strong, so firm, and so effective...for 120 minutes...is a medical mystery. Both of us walked out...refreshed, relieved and content. The owner is just...a doll. She is a wonderful small business Owner, and I WANT to contribute to her success. Several couples were there on Friday for a massage, so the word's gotten out about just how special Nirvana Spa is. I just hope it doesn't affect my chance to get a same-day appointment in the future :) Treat yourself to a Nirvana Spa Massage. It's exhilarating! read more

Nirvana Day Spa - Day Spas Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

I went there many times and like other reviews said it s kind of hit or miss it. Many times I requested for female only and I always made appointment ahead, they always say yes to you but when I arrived, they sent the male one and I have to keep repeating that I made appointment with female only. I feel comfortable to wear lose clothes for foot massage so I never wanted a male one and that is the reason why I asked for female. Last night I got the female as requested with no hassle back and forth, I hope they will keep it that way and respect the appointment or request. They do pretty good for the price and I always opted 90 minutes but don't forget to tip them at least 50% otherwise they will give you a dirty look, hahaha;). read more

Definitely not a bad place. Went here with my sister on a weekday after a long day at work. Pretty clean for this kind of establishment. Massage itself was mediocre, but it was still relaxing because I even fell asleep! I think I was just looking for some more intensive that helped my problem area instead of a whole lotioned body rub. After reading the reviews, I brought cash to avoid any problems and it worked out fine. The lady was not happy with how much I tipped. But honestly, what does she expect when she moaned and groaned complaining that "she got the big one"?? Yes lady, I can understand you... read more

This place is absolutely amazing!! I have found myself addicted to this place and come here nearly twice a month. It's the standard massage shop where they have foot massage but also they have full body and even a sauna. I have had 2 different types of massages and both are amazing. The first was the full body and I honestly seriously recommend it. It's $40 and worth every penny. You get a private room. If you're shy I wouldn't recommend it since they do stretch you sometimes which I love. I've also had their foot massage and it's great. I would recommend the hour long since 30 minutes just isn't enough for me personally. It obviously includes back, shoulders, arms neck and face along with the amazing foot massage. It's very quiet and half the time I hear people lightly snoring it's so relaxing!! read more

Awesome everything. Service was nice and fast. It was dark with nice music from the time I walked in the door to the time I left. The massage was great. I got the 60 mins for $40. What a deal. The only thing keeping me from a 5-star review was the table I was on. The face-hole was pretty covered with towels and disposable paper, which is good, but it crept underneath around my nose and made it a little difficult to breath. To adjust I had to stick my chin in the hole a little bit, and when the pressure from the massage began on my upper back, a lot of the weight ended up on pushing my neck into the table almost choking me a bit. It took some adjusting, and I never got it quite right. Without my chin in the hole, the weight was all transferred to my chin being pushed into the edge of the hole. I don't know if it's just me or if anyone else has had this problem, but with a better face-pillow or table set-up I'd give it 5-stars. read more

NIRVANA Day Spa, now there's a name to live up to! Will they? You gotta read to find out. From the moment that I walked in, to the moment I checked out, it was a pleasant experience. Since it was my first time I made no special requests, as I wanted to see what their standard practice was for a "One Hour Foot Massage." In case you have never had one, it's a head to toe massage over your clothed body while your feet rest in warm soothing water. Since you are clothed, it's a good idea to wear comfortable attire and pants that can be rolled up for your foot bath. I got a male masseuse. His name was Michael. His massage was consistent, even, medium pressure from top to bottom. Yay, me likey! And, because the room was dimly lit, relaxing and quiet, I dozed off for a bit. NIRVANA! Yup, I said it, the placed lived up to the name! I may update this review after I go in with a special request, like neck work or perhaps a Thai Combo, but for now IF YOU ARE IN NEEDS OF A DEEPLY RELAXING MASSAGE IN A QUIET, COZY ENVIRONMENT IN THE T.O. AREA THEN THIS IS YOUR PLACE! Price - 20 dollas to make you holla! Service - Good even w/the language barrier What I Got - Hour Foot Massage Cleanliness - Clean but break areas should be more discreet Atmosphere - You'll feel like you've been transported to the Orient read more

Best massage I have ever gotten. I've been to many spas (including luxury) all over Southern and Northern California. Nothing beats Nirvana. Every time I am in the Thousand Oaks area to visit family, my dad and I always get a massage. We've tried several different Chinese massage shops in the area and Nirvana was far superior than all the others for several reasons: Ambiance- it's dark, cool, quiet and furnished nicely. The massage chairs are comfortable and it's the perfect setup for a relaxing experience. Masseuse -we've had massages from Anna, Wendy, Judy and Emma and they all do an amazing job. They put forth a lot of effort and listen to our requests. I like hard, deep massages and all of them always listen. Overall experience- easy parking, good prices and helpful staff. The manager helps translate requests if needed. I usually get a 90 minute massage and it's never enough. read more

The massages here are consistently great. I have had massages with both male and female masseuses. I was nervous about having a male masseuse, but he was professional and never made me feel uncomfortable at any point. This is a great place to go for a massage. I highly recommend it! read more

I found this place on yelp and decided to check it out with my friend. I got the combo one hour massage. It was supposed to be 30 minutes for the feet and 30 minutes for the body. I got to soak my feet in warm water for about 5 minutes. After that the woman directed me to lay down so she could massage my back. It was very relaxing. It was a little rough but it still felt good. After my "hour" was up I went to go pay. I told the woman at the register what I had done and also told her I wanted to add a tip to my bill since I was paying with a card. It was an additional $1 to tip on the card. No biggie. But then when I went to sign my receipt I realized they charged me an additional $5 on top of the tip and credit card charge. I asked the woman about it and she stated that I had oil added to my massage. I informed her that I did not have oil nor did I request it. She started discussing it with the woman who did my massage but I couldn't understand what they were saying. I ended up just telling them to forget about it cause it seemed like it was more of a hassle for them. After I left and spoke to my friend about her massage I realized I never had my feet rubbed! I was so relaxed I completely forgot about that part. Upon looking at the clock I also realized we were only in there for 40 minutes! So overall the lady got an extra $5 tip, I didn't get my feet rubbed, and we got shorted 20 minutes of massage time. Lesson learned. Cheaper isn't always better. read more

My girlfriend and I went in tonight to relax after dinner. They came over with buckets for soaking our feet which had maybe an inch and a half of water in them, we asked for a bit more water and the therapist immediately grimaced then brought over a bucket and poured more in spilling on the floor carelessly to make a point that he did not like being asked to provide this reasonable service. Then after already taking our mood down, he had the audacity to say to my girlfriend "why so much water you must have thick feet" . Just plain rude, and when we complained the manager simply told us to keep quiet with no concern for how we were treated. When we walked out the guy actually said "we don't care, we have enough business and don't need you. Would never go back. ROBERT M read more

The worst massage I've ever had. The guy practically was poking me for 60 min. The first 20 min I was laying on my stomach I told him I was uncomfortable and told him to just do my feet. I was clearly upset. Just felt like the rest of the time he was rubbing lotion on my feet. I complained to the lady at the front desk afterwards and the least she could have done was taken half off the bill. Instead she suggested next time I ask for someone else to do my massage. My mom and I used to go here all the time. We will NOT be back. read more

Nirvana Day Spa - Day Spas Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

My friend and I went in for a massage appointment. Making the appointment over the phone was a bad experience in itself as the woman who helped us was actually rude during the call. We ordered a combo massage with the idea that it was a combo of back and foot. It was only back and butt actually, and some rough and painful scratching of the head that was anything but relaxing. The technique that they used (if you could call it that) was painful and not in a good way. A man massaged me and a woman massaged my friend. We both didn't like it at all and wished for it to be over soon, mainly because it was painful and uncomfortable, with abrupt movements and it was just not relaxing in the least bit. Mine ended about 20 seconds before my friends and I sat up quickly to see that the woman massaging her was watching a tv show on her phone (during the massage!) and she literally had the phone propped up against my friends back. This was the worst massage either of us have ever had and we don't recommend anyone going to this place. read more

If you go here...Make sure you don't get a female. Especially Lucy. Went this weekend. You could tell they weren't into it ...friend and I both had bad massages. But the guy was great with our third-party. Worst massage ever from the ladies. Weak and and seemed like the ladies didn't know what they were doing. Waste of money! read more

Possibly the most standardized and reliable massage center in TO. The place is clean, the staff (though not the best of communicators), are spot on in terms of working thru sore muscles. What a find. This is the best massage place I have ever been to. The New Location is just beautiful. The people are very professional and helpful. If you want a very unique and terrific experience you must try here. Highly highly recommended. Once you go, there is no turning back... THE BEST YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE. I have been here a few times and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, after the massage I just got, I doubt I'll be going back. I made an appointment on the phone and told them two times that I wanted a woman. They were 30 minutes late to see me... no big deal. Then they have me lat face down and the massage person comes in. I can hear their stomach rumbling a bunch and then they let out a huge burp. Half way through they ask me to flip over and I realize it's a guy. I figured they made me wait so they could have a female for me. No. I end up stopping the massage early because he wasn't even doing a good job. I really liked this place, so I hope I can give them a chance to redeem themselves. Update: They called me to apologize. I am going to leave my original post up because that experience might help somebody. Be sure to remind them if you want a female when they take you to the table, even if you reserved one. I am raising from 2 to 4 stars because I think my experience was the exception and not the norm. read more
