I have had incredible massages at Nirvana Day Spa. I came in there 8 years ago with debilitating back pain. During the first year I had several different people, all excellent. Then I found Ivy. I don't need to tell her where I'm hurting, she knows. She can see with her feet and hands. Whether it's physical or emotional pain, it stands no chance against her. This place has been one of the pillars of my healing. When I'm injured or in pain or when I just want to let go of the shit I'm carrying, I know where to go. Nirvana. I went from barely being able to walk to playing full court basketball with college kids. I'm 62. No way I'd be doing that without the care I get from Nirvana. Last thing. I saw a negative comment here about someone getting a therapist they didn't like and gave a one star review. Here's my answer to that: YOU'RE HEALING IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. Shit happens. Sometimes it's not a good fit. Maybe the room is wrong or you're just not vibing with this particular massage therapist. So say something. Stop the massage and ask for another therapist or the one you want. This is your time that you have paid for. Don't lie there for an hour getting angry then leave a one star review. Don't be a victim. Get what you came there for. It's up to you to leave relaxed and fulfilled. Every massage therapist there is excellent or they wouldn't be there. read more

The place was clean, relaxing, and welcoming, with a peaceful atmosphere that immediately helped me unwind. My massage therapist was outstanding. This was the worst massage I ever had! I just wasted $65.00 When I walked in the gal was friendly. Explain the massages. Tell me how long she's been there and I thought I'd have her. After she left me in the room, told me to disrobe in walked a man. No greeting, no communication at all. He began to just rub on me, like he was bored. You know when you're laying there, hoping it's going to get better. It never did. Nobody asked me if I enjoyed the massage and the room smelled. I will never go back here.. I should've read the lowest rated reviews first... I asked for the 60 minute scalp, neck and shoulders for $70. I also added a 30 minute foot massage for $40. This should've been a 90 minute massage. I got less than 60 minutes. What they did was during my scalp, neck, shoulder massage, they had second person come in and give me my foot massage. So a 4 handed massage. This is not a relaxing modality and I did not ask for it. Not to mention I feel like she rubbed a hole in my scalp from spending too much time massaging in one spot. Was charged $120 ($110 +$10 upgrade for CBD balm). I also gave them both a decent tip and honestly, I have no explanation as to why I did that, as both services were subpar. Shame on you, Nirvana. You are supposed to make people feel better not worse. read more

My friend and I have been here before and today, we were swindled. When they asked me and my friend if we wanted essential oil, we said no. When I finished, she charged me according to the cash list. So I paid w a $100 bill. She says my bill looks fake so she won't take it, she will accept credit card which is more than the cash price. When my friend finished her massage, she was told it was $20 more than what she initially agreed on. She didn't want essential oil. Instead of $40, she charged her $10 for the oil and another $10 for who knows what. I don't know how regular customers can be scammed like this and expect there to be a returning business after what they pulled on us. read more

I have been here several times and usually have an ok experience. However, my last visit has left me with ongoing pain in the mid right side of my back. The massage was about 2 months ago now, and I still have a lingering dull pain that flares up during a day of even basic physical activity. I also had a severe pinched nerve the next day which I had to go to urgent care for; dr said I had muscle spasms and it took over a week to feel relief. I received a full body massage and requested a light pressure before entering the room. I had to stop the woman several times and ask for lighter pressure as it felt more like a deep tissue, in which she would respond by laughing and continuing the same hard pressure. I am not sure if there was a language barrier, but as a skilled masseuse, or even someone just used to touching the human body, you would think they'd also notice the body tensing up repeatedly. It is partly my fault for not stopping the massage completely after several attempts of requesting lighter pressure, but was anticipating she would just move on from that spot, yet seemed to focus heavily on that area. Bummer to be in this position when seeking relaxation and a disclosure to others to speak up if you feel uncomfortable. read more

She literally said "that's it" and walked away all pissed off... This is apparently a common thing at this place with some of the staff shaking down and tip shaming the customer after I've spoke to 3 other people that have been here and received the same negative push back over tips... I'm a great tipper and sometimes based on the service I've tipped over 20%... But, 20% alone is still a nice gesture and I know my karma is good when it comes to being gratuitous (my profession is also a tipped job). . I went in for two 60 minute separate services. Got talked out of what I wanted, my mistake for allowing it. The language barrier also did not help with explaining the differences of switching what I wanted. I some how ended up with two people massaging me at once, so 60 mins total. Chaotic, distracting, opposite of relaxing and the entire time I wished the clock would go faster. The male kept coughing on me and making annoyed sounds the whole time. Used his forearm so aggressively into my back I was squeezing the sheets so hard, asked him to stop twice with his forearms. My massage was supposed to include feet for an entire hour- I counted in my head that I got about 6 mins total touched on each feet. It was by far the worst place to choose. I should have paid $100-200 more at a day spa so I wasn't in pain wanting to leave the whole time. I'm unsure, actually positive they have zero training. None. It was by far the most unrelaxing experience I've had at a cheaper massage business. I left with my hands hurting so badly from clinging to the side sheets. Update: my next morning I am covered in bruises on my back. In shock at how horrible this business is- they need to be reported for fraud of employees acting like masseuses and they aren't. read more
