I have been coming to this salon for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing…read more I want to start by saying that all of the staff here have always been kind, welcoming, and friendly. My experience has never been with them. Unfortunately, the owner is the exception, and this experience completely changed my opinion of the salon. I called at 10:00 a.m. to schedule a simple manicure and pedicure for myself and my 6-year-old daughter for 1:00 p.m. When we arrived, the owner immediately insisted that I had never called. I calmly showed him my call log proving that I had called that morning. Instead of admitting the mistake or apologizing, he became visibly angry. Rather than simply fixing the situation, he had customers getting pedicures moved around while they were waiting for their nails to dry, creating unnecessary chaos throughout the salon. What made the experience even worse was that he repeatedly spoke to the staff in another language while everyone kept looking at me. I don't know exactly what was being said, but it was obvious I was the topic of conversation. I told him that it was making me feel uncomfortable, yet the staff simply smiled and continued. I felt embarrassed, singled out, and completely disrespected in front of a room full of people. The issue was never that a mistake happened. Mistakes happen. The problem was the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer service. A simple apology would have gone a long way. Instead, I was made to feel like I had done something wrong when I had proof that I hadn't. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially in front of their child. After years of being a loyal customer, I will not be returning because of the owner's behavior. It's unfortunate, because the rest of the staff have always been wonderful. I hope the owner takes this seriously because no one deserves to be humiliated for a mistake the salon made.

Incredibly accommodating, always makes me feel so welcomed, and truly goes above and beyond to make sure I'm comfortable during every appointment. She'll literally pull out laptop and iPhone chargers for me, checks in throughout the service, and has the most positive attitude ever. She's also a perfectionist in the best way possible. My nails always come out exactly how I want them, clean, precise, and flawless. You can tell she genuinely cares about her work and her clients. She is also very personable and remembers little details I share with her personally. The salon itself also looks better than ever after the revamp, and the music/vibe is always amazing. I steal her playlists and use them at my own gatherings. Such a relaxing and fun experience every visit. Could not recommend Subee more highly!

Many years later, I decided to try a lash tint and, after extensive online research, chose Katelin Gonzalez at Beauty Babes and Co. I started with just a lash tint and later tried a lash lift, although it didn't make much difference because my lashes naturally curl upward. Eventually, I asked Katelin about extensions. She said, "Let's try it," and now I'm completely hooked! Katelin does an amazing job with my extensions. I never thought I would be someone who wore them, but I absolutely love them. My entire makeup routine now takes about 30 seconds: 20 seconds to brush out my lashes and brows, and 10 seconds to apply lip tint. That's it! I've gone from spending 10 minutes on makeup to 30 seconds, and I always look put together. Katelin is wonderful, and my lash extensions are SO worth it!

I had a very concerning experience with Room 17 at both their Encino and Santa Monica locations,…read moreand I feel it's important to share what happened. At the Encino location, I had serious concerns about the person who did the services on my daughter and whether they were properly licensed to provide cosmetology services. Beyond that, the salon was extremely dirty and, in my opinion, very unsanitary. While I was there I saw a mouse trap! That alone was shocking. When they were getting ready to blow-dry my daughter's hair, I noticed there was still hair from previous clients tangled in the brushes they were about to use on me. I couldn't believe they hadn't been properly cleaned between clients. The bathroom was also out of service during my visit. Unfortunately, my experience at the Santa Monica location also left me with concerns about whether the people performing hair services were properly licensed. The name of who worked on my daughter's hair was Ariel. Overall, the lack of cleanliness and hygiene, along with my concerns about proper licensing, made me extremely uncomfortable. When you're paying a business for personal care and beauty services, you should be able to trust that the environment is clean, the tools being used on you are sanitary, and the people providing the services are properly qualified and licensed. Based on my personal experience, I would not feel comfortable returning to either location.
