Whenever I'm traveling through the Binghamton area, I have to stop at Nirchi's for some of the best tasting sheet pizzas I've had in Upstate NY. There are several Nirchi's locations throughout the Binghamton area. I stop at Conklin location on my trips to and from NE Penn. and it's a small detour off I-81 between Exit 1 and Exit 2W on Route 7. This place is cozy with the order counter and a few tables/booths. As a very frequent consumer of pizza, I prefer a soft dough texture crust topped with high quality and tasty ingredients. Nirchi's Pizza offers full sheet pizzas (24 slices), half sheet pizzas (12 slices), and 16" NY style round pizzas (8 slices), as well as breakfast pizza, subs, wraps, spiedies, salads, appetizers, garlic knots, wings, and Pepsi products. They also sell take & bake pizzas and usually have a good selection of pizza slices on hand. Current slice specials (in 02/2011) with soft drink are offered here at very fair prices including 3 Cheese Slices & Fountain Drink for $2.99 plus tax and 3 Specialty Slices & Fountain Drink for $4.29 plus tax, which is what I ordered on my recent visit. My favorite sheet pizza slices (square) are the Buffalo chicken (shredded chicken in a very spicy sauce), Nirchi's Deluxe (pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms), and the Chicken Bacon Ranch. The crust has a nice crisp on the bottom and edge and soft dough texture inside and the slices are loaded with plenty of tasty toppings. On my recent visit to the Conklin Nirchi's, my favorite pizza slices were very tasty with nice flavors (especially the very spicy Buffalo chicken, WOWSA!!), but the temperature of the slices was only warm and not piping hot. Nonetheless, the pizza slices were very enjoyable.

Had a little taste of the new Artisan style Dill Pickle Pizza offered at Nirchi's Pizza in Conklin. With a house vinaigrette as the main sauce, pickles, dill, then finished with a ranch dressing drizzle... I found this slice to be rather delicious. Paired with a couple slices of Jalapeño Popper, which is a recipe unmatched by other pizzerias, today's eating experience was truly enjoyable. A big thanks to the Nirchi's Conklin team. #binghamtonpizza #pizza #conklin #newtier #beawesome

This is our favorite Nirchis. They top the pizza the best. Always hot and fresh with a good amount of sauce and cheese.

We came towards the end of the lunch rush (1-2PM?) and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip and buzzy, with lots of colorful decor. The menu had some very tempting options, even for vegetarians. We started with the buffalo brussel sprouts, a stroke of genius. I'd never thought about dousing this tasty veggie in hot sauce and blue cheese, but it makes sense. This was a very tasty app, and the sprouts were roasted perfectly with crispy outer skins which provided the crunch needed for a good buffalo dish. The special that day was some kind of french dip sandwich which one of my dining companions got. Another one got a cajun catfish sandwich and graciously offered me a bite. It was flavorful. For my main, I got the spring roll bowl and decided to add tofu. It had noodles, peanuts, a sweet thai chili sauce, and lots of veggies. It was MASSIVE. Prices are a little high but the portions definitely made it worth it. I could have taken half home as leftovers if I'd wanted. The restaurant also has a coffee bar which we decided last minute to partake in instead of venturing out into the rain to find a different cafe. This was such a convenient option because we didn't have to fight to find parking or brave the weather to go to a second location. I did a pistachio latte. Someone else at my table got a Mexican hot chocolate. I treated myself to the homemade whipped cream. The coffee hit the spot. Throughout the whole experience the staff was wonderful. Our food came out quickly, and the servers were very friendly and joking with us. I'd come back if I was in the area.

It was around 5:30pm on a Saturday and luckily there were plenty of tables still available. We started with the Buffalo Brussels Sprouts which I absolutely loved! These are some of the best Brussels sprouts I've had at a restaurant. The buffalo sauce was light and not overpowering and even the blue cheese dipping sauce (which I'm usually not a fan of) was pretty mild and paired well with the Brussels sprouts. A great start! We then shared the Large Rigatoni a la Vodka and added Meatballs to it. The Large is definitely enough for 2 people. The Rigatoni was cooked well and the vodka sauce was well balanced with the cream, tomatoes, garlic, and cheese. It wasn't anything spectacular but it hit the spot! My only complaint was for ~$6, I expected the meatballs to be larger than they were. The Meatballs had good flavor but for such a large bowl of pasta, it barely makes a difference. And those 3 meatballs should be $1 each at most, in my opinion. The Side Caesar Salad was a great pair with the pasta and for ~$3, very reasonably priced. All in all, worth stopping by if you're in town!

We ordered the French onion soup and it was excellent. I knew the soup would be great as Kevin is a chef and takes pride in every aspect of his creations. My wife had the hanger steak salad which is served on top of large plate of leafy green with fresh vegetables and some wedge fries, it was solid! This was one of the daily specials and did not disappoint. I had another one of the specials an oyster po-boy. The bread was delicious and they must make it in house. The greens were fresh and the tomatoes sweet however there were only two small oysters on each half of the sandwich? Very small and really unnoticeable give the size of the sandwich. I was really disappointed because I love oysters and was surprised that they didn't add more to the sandwich. It was served with a nice spicy mayonnaise and homemade fries. Maybe they were running out of oysters, which they should have just taken it off the menu. Either way I'd rather have a traditional Po-boy loaded with oysters and less of the greens and tomatoes. The taste was on point but disappointing for the lack of oysters. I will definitely go back but I won't order this item again. See photo! The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was cozy.
