Food first, pretty good if you avoid the frozen crap like fried shrimp, fried cheese stuff. The prepared dishes that they make are pretty good. Every once in a blue moon they do a pastrami sandwich special and that is phenomenal! Katz deli kinda of phenomenal. The pizza is fairly meh. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it mushy with 1/2 cooked dough but usually it's ok. The bar scene is pleasant but the mixed drinks are small. They have a decent selection of beers. The decor is standard for a local pizza/bar/music establishment and the staff has always be attentive in my experience. The manager is a great guy. They usually have a band or group on Fridays ranging from local talent to some pretty serious high quality acts. Always fun and it's not an expensive nite out so thumbs up for that.

Using that as perspective, the food used to be decent (1-2 years ago) but now the quality has decreased and the last time I ordered... and it will be the last time... the sub par food was barely warm. The wait staff hangs out by the register area drinking sodas and refused to make eye contact with me when I went up to pay the bill. Hello??? Customer with cash here!!!! Can I please pay??? Please??? I understand businesses needing to cut down to save money but maybe that's just me trying to make an excuse for them. This restaurant is known all over the area for having the best prime rib and I'm assuming it still is as good as like I said there's new ownership and I don't believe they changed a whole lot on the menu but until I've actually tried it again I can't say for sure. My wife has always enjoyed the lobster ravioli however a couple weeks ago when we were there she had it and it does taste different. Now I do have sort of an inside track on this because my daughter works there now however she didn't know for sure if any recipes were changed or not. Now don't get me wrong the lobster are we only still tasted great but it wasn't what my wife expected because something was different. She still finished it and was happy. I went with a broiled fish option which was also tasty and the place was as usual clean and appeared to be a very nice atmosphere. This was the last time I was there a couple weeks ago, I also visited on Easter this last April, and that experience wasn't quite as nice. And the only reason I say that is because they had a buffet and there's nothing against the buffet at this restaurant it was done very well and everything was presented beautifully however in my opinion buffets just don't seem to taste as good as when you get a fresh plate from the kitchen. Now coincidentally, my birthday was a couple days ago and this weekend I will be going back here to have dinner with my in-laws and with that being said the possibility does exist I might come back and add to this review. I'm fully expecting it to be another nice dining experience so I might not revisit this perhaps only if something really outstanding or horribly tragic happens. I did give this particular review four stars instead of five five partially because of that lobster ravioli tasting different and partially because I'm not quite yet convinced about the new ownership not affecting the overall quality. Either way, the experience just wasn't what we expected. We were seated immediately and given menus. I was in love with all the seafood options, but my husband and I were craving steak. I ordered a crème brûlée martini that was fabulous. We also decided on the Cajun calamari appetizer. The calamari was plated with a plastic cup containing the dipping sauce. I hate to say this, but if you want to keep up a semblance of fine dining , black plastic cups shouldn't be a thing. We were on the fence about the calamari. Some pieces were soggy, but the flavor used in the breading was great. We finished and saw the decorative lettuce swimming in grease. Our Caesar salads were wonderful. When we got our steaks we were underwhelmed. The infamous black plastic cup was back and although I asked for extra butter and sour cream, that didn't happen. Both steaks were cooked to the temperature ordered but bland. I suppose we should have paid extra for the flavor add-ons. Sadly we had no salt/pepper so we took it from the empty table next to us. We ran out of water during the entree so we scrapped any idea of asking about dessert. We got the $127 check that included one drink, one appetizer, two small salads, and two entrees. Overall a 3-star experience, and for the price, that's polite. Could we have sent items back...yes. I truly felt that subpar calamari and bland steaks were not getting any better with a second try and they would still come out with a lackluster plastic cup in the wake. The service was decent. The waitresses were pleasant. Although we visit Owego regularly, I doubt our time will be well served coming back. We wanted to love this place but it didn't happen for us.

The portion of the fries for the table was very small, the smallest portion of fries we've seen. And they were average at best. The stuffed French toast was extremely sweet and I didn't really enjoy it. My wife had the house salad and said it was wonderful. The lunchtime waitress was disinterested and the service was slow for that lunch and average for dinner. We doubt we'll return. The Parkview hotel is our new go for meals when visiting Owego NY.

The person that takes your order is not the same person that gets your donuts and puts them in the box, so that seems to streamline things pretty well. There's a display up by the cash register with one of every donut that is currently being sold that morning/day so you can make your selection easier. The menu is a little more extensive than donuts, as they also have hoagies and shareables and of course coffee/ juices. For whatever reason, somebody decided to put donuts with beer... Yeah I don't know... But, if the mood strikes you they have a very fine selection that they rotate from time to time of draft beer. It's a pour your own kind of a thing and they also sell growlers. There's of course t-shirts and other random souvenirs that not only have the company logo/wording but Owego in general. Bottom of mind this place is definitely worth a visit.

I was shocked at the 45 minute wait time for some chicken wings but, I saw how busy they were when I go there. I loved the atmosphere when I walked in. It was busy at the bar and restaurant but no one was waiting for a seat. That's a great sign. Immediately, I was asked if I had an order. I told the gentleman I could wait but he went back and put a rush on the wings. Within 10 minutes I had the wings, and an apology for how long it took. Although, it was well before my 45 minute pick up time. The parking lot is a bit cramped but there's not much room to expand. Besides, they have been there since I was a kid. The wings were so good.
