I was recently talking about bad pizza with my daughter whose husband is from the Binghamton area…read moreand I mentioned how Terrible the pizza was at Brozzetti's. Her reaction was "OMG my husband swears by the place, they all love it". This actually reminds me of friends from Taylor/ Wilks-Barre PA that swear by the greatness of Old Forge Pizza. Let me be clear, this pizza is glorified ELLIO's frozen pizza. While visiting Johnson City i was told by acquaintances, I must have the pizza at Brozzetti's. "It's Life Changing". This is tasteless generic pizza. I could have chewed on the cardboard box with some sauce and not noticed the difference. I would travel to New Haven, Brooklyn, Chicago, even Phoenix (which i hear has excellent pizza), and I appreciate different styles like Detroit style pizza, But I'm glad I didn't make the trip to Johnson City purposely for Brozzetti's. I can't believe I am saying this, go down the street to Dominos if you need pizza.

Picked up order got home and the pizza was half pepperoni and not crispy or brown crust and the wings under fried, not crispy skin on the " flat" wings just soft skin . Now I forgive the wrong pizza meat as maybe I just got someone else's order but the only thing that was good with the entire order was that the amount of cheese they use is ample which most places are just short. If you order extra cheese you're chewing on rubber bands. It seems no one ever gets that right .. they're all being cheap and skimpy. The sauce on this pizza was bitter, like eating paste, not thinned a little bit & it was horrible and the crust chewy and soft. Pizza is my life long love. I've had pizza my entire life from living downstate, MD, VA and here. This ranks high on the bad ones. Reading the reviews I was somewhat hopeful but then again, seeing reviews from here is a crap shoot as so many praise places I think are inferior and wouldn't eat there. Some seem to get praised more for length of time in business rather than on food taste, quality etc. So for my family I'm sad to say Pizza on the Plaza is a bust!

Items that were ordered : spiedie sub, meatball parm , and buffalo chicken sub . Speidies were dry and just soaked in Italian salad dressing, yuck . Do not come here for the spiedies. Go to Lupos for authentic delicious spiedies. Meatball parm was mediocre. Rossi's in Endicott has the best hands down. The buffalo chicken was good but not outstanding. The fresh bread was also good, reminded me of an unsweetened donut . Desserts were good but tasted like they were semi homemade with boxed cake mix. Outside of Pizza, don't care much for spaghetti, or meatballs, or Lasagna or Penne A La Whatever. But, these guys? Just set the standard and made me a fan of Italian food at the ripe age of 54. The Spaghetti Ai Frutti Di Mare, good gosh, unlike anything that I have ever tasted before. Absolutely amazing is all I can say. My wife I believe had haddock, gave me a bite, melts in your mouth. My step daughter has the chicken marsalla, another knock out. The atmosphere was decent, family oriented, nice lighting, I'd say 7 out of 10. Parking lot gets full quick around dinner time (understandable truthfully). But the food??? 15 out of 10. I wanted to order another Spaghetti Ai Frutti Di Mare to go, but my wife protested and said for me to stop being greedy.

I was shocked at the 45 minute wait time for some chicken wings but, I saw how busy they were when I go there. I loved the atmosphere when I walked in. It was busy at the bar and restaurant but no one was waiting for a seat. That's a great sign. Immediately, I was asked if I had an order. I told the gentleman I could wait but he went back and put a rush on the wings. Within 10 minutes I had the wings, and an apology for how long it took. Although, it was well before my 45 minute pick up time. The parking lot is a bit cramped but there's not much room to expand. Besides, they have been there since I was a kid. The wings were so good. They came with blue cheese, celery, and carrots. Overall, this place is well above 5 stars. I can't wait to dine in and visit the bar side. Okay so I know I've left a review from this place before however I don't see it on the list and the…read moreYelp is prompting me to do it again.. possibly because a few months ago the ownership changed. This restaurant is known all over the area for having the best prime rib and I'm assuming it still is as good as like I said there's new ownership and I don't believe they changed a whole lot on the menu but until I've actually tried it again I can't say for sure. My wife has always enjoyed the lobster ravioli however a couple weeks ago when we were there she had it and it does taste different. Now I do have sort of an inside track on this because my daughter works there now however she didn't know for sure if any recipes were changed or not. Now don't get me wrong the lobster are we only still tasted great but it wasn't what my wife expected because something was different. She still finished it and was happy. I went with a broiled fish option which was also tasty and the place was as usual clean and appeared to be a very nice atmosphere. This was the last time I was there a couple weeks ago, I also visited on Easter this last April, and that experience wasn't quite as nice. And the only reason I say that is because they had a buffet and there's nothing against the buffet at this restaurant it was done very well and everything was presented beautifully however in my opinion buffets just don't seem to taste as good as when you get a fresh plate from the kitchen. Now coincidentally, my birthday was a couple days ago and this weekend I will be going back here to have dinner with my in-laws and with that being said the possibility does exist I might come back and add to this review. I'm fully expecting it to be another nice dining experience so I might not revisit this perhaps only if something really outstanding or horribly tragic happens. I did give this particular review four stars instead of five five partially because of that lobster ravioli tasting different and partially because I'm not quite yet convinced about the new ownership not affecting the overall quality. We will see how this weekend goes and like I said perhaps revisit this then
