Nopers over here.
You know how pizza delivery services have that 25-30 minute window after your requested delivery time? Okay. So, my experience here came across as them wanting to use some of that window to be late with my delivery despite how early I placed my online order.
15 minutes before I was expecting our delivery, the online tracker showed that the pizza hadn't even been put in the oven. Lame.
So when I called to cancel the order - because you've gotta be kidding me receiving my online order for a 2pm delivery before you opened at 11am and not having it in the oven by 145pm - the guy on the other end was fine with canceling it, but not before giving me our order's status verbally as if his word should trump the technology his employer has supplied him with. I know, right?
And because I was so agitated by the, imo (because I'm not from out here #SorryNotSorry), indifference about procedures to avoid delays, I'm not sure if this guy said my pizza was still in the oven or just came out of the oven, but what he said wasn't what the tracker showed, which was nothing more than its status nearly three hours prior when I'd placed the online order (and the screenshot I took of the online pizza tracking page shows that their timestamp for my online order was one hour behind the time I'd placed the order.). Get me?
So several minutes after confirming I'd get a refund, and ordering delivery from another restaurant, I checked my bank account. Instead of seeing one processing payment from Pizza Hut for the one order I made, I saw, TWO processing payments from Pizza Hut for the order I made and then two reversals for the same amount from Pizza Hut. The F**k? And yes, I took a screenshot of my banking activity, which shows all of this.
This was what my last experience with Domino's in Johnson City was like: not seeing any movement in an online order I'd placed - and with a 20% irreversible tip (just like I did in this situation with a 19-point-something irreversible tip) - WAY too early for there to be the delay that I could totally see was going to happen, which was why I not only canceled that order but deleted their 4-star Yelp review I'd posted for them last month.
Whatevz. No one has time for the Twilight Zone. Or are these those types of staffers who, since COVID-19 became a pandemic, want the same amount of slack as our current nation's heroes who are on the front lines and understandably stressed AF?
Stay mediocre at best, Pizza Hut. read more
