Great local burger joint with friendly service and good food. I haven't tried everything in the menu, mainly stick to a standard cheeseburger or the halibut fish and chips. I've been eating here since they opened 20 years ago or so and can't remember a time when I had bad anything. If I had to make one complaint, it would be the drive thru. During the bizarre summer of Covid-19 (Aka the garbage fire that won't burn out) we've been on a quest to find the best burger in Washington. After a quick trip to Seaside, we stopped in based on the reviews. We grabbed a double cheeseburger, some rings and a PB/Chocolate shake. The folks working here were friendly and pretty quick. The whole thing came out to about $12. The food was unfortunately very middle of the road. The burger was not particularly flavorful, but was complimented by the delicious bacon. The rings were better than average, but we weren't fry sauce fans - it was a mix of fry sauce, relish and pepper...maybe we're prissy, but fry sauce should only contain mayo and ketchup - not those little souls of the forsaken that return in pepper form! The shake was also very meh. It tasted less ice creamy and more like there was blended ice in it. Again, we've become a bit snobby around our standard trio of foods and beverage, but this wasn't as good as we'd hoped based on the recommendations. This is a classic place for burgers and fries in town. I've been coming here for many years. It's still great. A couple years ago or so they did change their burger buns and I don't quite like them as the other ones. The newer ones taste or feel drier and the texture isn't as great. It's hard to describe. I also posted a newer menu since the prices have changed since the last menu was posted here. Service was great as always. I recommend this place. Just wish they used the buns they used to use. Not sure I'm impressed with the "new" Nipp's. In fact, I'm not! Been going since it opened. Always get the grilled chicken salad. Ordered 5 of them on my way home from work today, and got home with ZERO dressing, croutons etc. What's upsetting is, I don't live in town, so to go back for the dressing is a 30 minute drive each way. So to say I'm upset, is an understatement. Not only that, but the halibut fish was way overcooked and dried out. The seasoned fries were burnt and tasted funny. The soda was flat, as well. I'm sorry to say, I'm not a fan. I've never been a fan. I never will be a fan. BUT it's not garbage. I'll be switching between the pros and cons I have, with each paragraph. But just know, this place is an overall fine establishment. I think their burgers are a mess of a sandwich. Aside from good enough bacon, and real tasting patties, all the ingredients come together to make a soupy, soggy, flavorless burger. Their fries aren't that bad. Especially when you dip in their fry sauce. It improves the experience tremendously. They stop feeling hard to get down. Why are their milkshakes so icy? It's like you grabbed old ice cream with freezer burn, and made a shake. But they do try to shake it up with month by month exclusive flavors. I can't remember the last time I didn't see a line, drive-thru or not. Then the inside is small, so seating is a disaster, while the line has an issue finding a way to stay in the store. I can't thank the employees enough though. They work hard, and the line is never LONG. It's just not INSTANTANEOUS. For real tasting food, it's worth it. Plus, they're not rude. I absolutely love their fish. Not the best fish I've had, and waaay too expensive. But it's probably my favorite thing to get there. (But I usually stick with the banner special.) Overall, I'm not mad this establishment's popular. I'm just confused why it is. Can't believe we lost Five Guys, but Nipps is still open. I know I'm in the minority. The food (mushroom burger) was good, but it took almost 30 minutes to get it! The slowest service at a drive-through I think ever had! 15 minutes in line with only one other car in front of me at the window. Then another 10-15 when I got to the window (after ordering while in line 15 minutes before). Drove by and it had 10+ cars in line so I had to try. And they are super delicious! I got a Nipps burger (doesn't come with lettuce or tomato, I didn't realize but the menu does say so, so ask for it) the onions were chopped up into squares which made it so much better for eating on the go, no more loose onion trailing from mouth to burger. Plus I got a bonus piece of bacon Shakes! So many more shakes then the menu shows, I got the peanut butter. Real PB! At least I think. But it was that good good strong PB taste and texture Fries are amazing! Like curly fry texture but straight. Fry sauce was highly recommended- but it was very different. I don't think I would have stopped in if I hadn't looked it up before going. Retro vibe from outside. Solid awesome food. Bacon cheese Burger, onion rings, chicken sandwich is what we ordered. My husband ate his spicy chicken sandwich even before I was taking pictures. It was THAT good. The bacon cheese burger was equally as delicious and the onion rings a sweet/ crunchy compliment. The service was pretty fast though not very friendly, almost no acknowledgement from the staff. All of the table were a bit dirty and we wanted to eat inside so I got some extra napkins and cleaned one off for us. The food was just ok, the fries were very good but the hamburgers were just a fast food hamburger, not much flavor and a bit overcooked. The buns were almost flat. Don't expect that we will ever be back but it is an obviously popular spot lots of cars lined up while we were there. Prices were very reasonable so that might be the attraction. I stopped in last Friday with the family as we were on our way to Seaside, OR. This very unassuming diner is the real deal. The business is rather small and has a few tables inside. Their bathrooms are located outside. I would say that the diner could have been cleaner and the bathroom could definitely use a check throughout the day. If you can look past all this, then you are in for a real treat. I ended up ordering the Banner Combo with the grilled onions. The burger was simply delicious. I would say that it was one of the best burgers I had tried in my entire life. The patty was cooked to perfection and the grilled onions were seasoned to perfection. My wife and oldest son had the Banner Combo also and the love it! They went with the Nipps Shakes and they let me take a sip. The shakes took me back in time. Overall service was really good. The pretty cashier was very friendly and inviting. She handled our order very well for a group of six. The food was out rather quickly even though their drive thru was super busy. recently 8/2024 the food- halibut fish & fries and the chicken strip & fry basket has been horrible. I have had this twice and the halibut was over fried and the pieces were like 2 tiny partial pieces of fish. The chicken strips were rubbery, again over fried and hard as a rock. fries were under cooked and the wait time in the drive up was 40 minutes with 7 cars in front of me. I am going to avoid this place and eat at home- not worth the hassle or waste of money. read more

Nipps is like an old fashioned hamburger stand from the 1950s. Just without the poodle skirts and waitresses on roller skates. The owner here has done a great job of making a burger that's just a little bit better than the Big Chain fast food places. It's always busy, there's always a line. But the owner probably learned that from his father. Who used to own the Sizzler next door. Which, when I worked there was the busiest restaurant in the free world. Don't let the line scare you though. The service is really quick here and he always seems to have a great group of kids working behind the counter. So if you want fast food just a tiny bit different than a big chain outfits and probably a fair amount better go ahead and go buy nips don't let the lines scare you they move a heck of a lot quicker than the McDonald's down the street. read more
