The platter pieces were about 50% larger than a usual piece, making this platter way more than enough for a family of 4. Highly recommend the superman roll- something new for me as an avid sushi enthusiast as much as one from the mainland can be. The shredded potato is a nice touch and the portion is large. The fish is fresh. Very casual setting, but the AC must have been broken because it was extremely warm. Cheap frozen fish! My family and friends made a last minute decision to eat sushi. I didn't expect my fish to still be frozen when I bit into it. Talk about an ahi flavored ice pop. The ahi lover's was overall tasty and could use more thawing. The Teri beef was descent for the price and ginger was fresh on the side. The wasabi looked like a green melon pudding so we left that alone. We chose to give 4 stars because the staff was so nice to us while we were eating and when we were leaving. I love, love, love this place. The family that owns this establishment are so hospitable and cheerful. They truly make you feel like family...it really makes you wanna keep coming back. We eat here plenty times before and think they're the best Ninja Sushi location on island. Aunty is always accomodating to us and that's the biggest reason we come back outside of liking their food. Prices went up recently most for nigiri but the rolls are still decently priced. I ordered ikura, natto, garlic hamachi nigiri, and vegetable tempura roll, T dragon roll, and Superman roll. There was a lot of rice in all the rolls. There's actually rice inside the roll with the way they roll it. All the rolls were tasty and I'd definitely get again. Garlic hamachi nigiri was torched and semi rubbery. I wouldn't recommend. I took pictures of the updated menu because online the prices are wrong! We usually order the OLDT from waipio, but my son accidentally selected this aiea one. The sushi looked the same but the taste was different. The sushi was bland, but the worst part was the fish tasted old and fishy. Don't think I'll buy here again, and luckily I didn't get sick even if the fish tasted old. read more

21 November 2020 My nephew said he wanted sushi because he hasn't had it in forever! My friend is a bit of a foodie so I messaged him and asked, "best, cheap sushi; I'm in Aiea?!?" and he recommended Ninja Sushi. Of course I also checked Yelp for the ratings after his recommendation. The store has informational signs posted on the door before entry: mask before entrance, dining room closed but restaurant open for take-out and delivery. Inside, the employees are also wearing masks and hand sanitizer is available for customer use. The menu is displayed on a large board at the counter. I asked the employee a few questions about menu items and she explained what they were made with. I went with a tiger and rainbow roll. I waited in the restaurant while my sushi was being prepared. One other customer walked in after me and received her order. I think she ordered ahead, that option is also available. It was not a long wait though. It took roughly 7 minutes for both to be done. The employee added soy sauce, wasabi, chopsticks, and napkins to the bag and handed me my order. When we got home, we enjoyed our sushi. It wasn't anything orgasmic but, it was good. Ok we come here at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. It's an easy meal for me and my kids. Sometimes we door dash and sometimes we pickup depending on our day. My favorites are the tiger and the hamachi nigiri. My kids love the tekka hosomaki - it comes in a pretty flower shape - and the giant spam musubi! We don't usually get a chance to take a photo because as soon as it's on the table everyone is eating! Thank you Ninja Sushi Westridge for being one of the only places open on Christmas Day! I literally called so many places but they said that they were not going to be on Christmas. I finally came across Ninja and they said they would be open till 3pm that day. I was so happy because I really wanted to bring sushi to our family get together. I ordered a T-platter for pick up at 1pm. However, I called because I was going to be half an hour early and they were so accommodating even though it looked like they had a lot of orders. If you want cheap, delicious sushi, this place works well. Don't come here expecting the freshest OG sushi. But it really does hit the spot and is great for what you pay for. The staff there is friendly and efficient. On my most recent visit, I got their tornado maki and garlic ebi. The tornado maki has shrimp and imitation crab on the inside and spicy ahi and some sauces on top. This is my favorite kind of combination of ingredients when I get rolls and I was not disappointed. The garlic ebi was also great. It's a garlic sauce on top, not garlic mayo like you might get at other stores. It still has a rich flavor to it though. It was good and I completely forgot to take pictures this time around. I also hear that their bowls are great too, but I typically get rolls and individual sushi so that I can get more of a variety of items. This location has ample parking (there's parking upstairs if you can't find any downstairs) and is pretty easy to find. It's not the worst sushi place, and the staff is friendly. Their menu isn't as robust as other Ninja Sushi restaurants, and the food just doesn't have the same taste. We had the Tempura Maki and the Crunchy Maki. The toppings on the Crunchy roll were kind of just thrown on the top. Picked up some sushi from Ninja Sushi in West Ridge. My order included a Superman Roll... it's one of their specialties and one of their party sets. I don't remember the name of the set, but it included a Tiger Roll, hamachi, salmon, unagi and ahi nigiri as well as some other items. All the nigiri items were generous and fresh. I am a fan of Ninja Sushi, but each location is run differently. What you might find at one, you might not find at another. Oh, and be warned...if you like a particular kind of roll at one location, it might not taste the same at another. This place doesn't offer the freshest high quality sushi that some might want, but it's affordable and still tasty (in my opinion). My usual order from Ninja Sushi would be the Superman (a spicy ahi roll, topped with fresh ahi, yummy crispies, green onions, and unagi sauce). However, on this particular visit, I thought I would change it up a bit. I tried the Tiger Roll (shrimp tempura and crab inside the roll and topped with spicy ahi). While the Tiger Roll was decent, I think I will stick to my Superman from now on. They never let me down with the Superman. The menu is plentiful, so if you've never been here before, it may take you some time to figure out what you want. There's a separate menu on the side that explains what is in each type of roll. This location is special in that they have big plastic cups (so big that the straw doesn't even stick out from it) on the side that you can fill with water from the fountain drinks machine. Also, there is a hot tea machine that you can frequent as often as you'd like. Customer service was pretty good. They welcome you when you come in, bring the food to you when it's ready, and say goodbye when you leave. You can leave your dishes on the table and they will clean it up for you. read more
