I love hot pot so I was excited to try out this place. We did the AYCE option. The inside was really cool with the smoke coming up from the conveyor belt. I love that they also keep lot of the items in the fridge, especially the raw meats. Service was great! They would clear out our empty dishes every few minutes and checked in on us many times throughout our meals. The sauce bar had many options to choose from. I really like the hot bar area as well. I finally made my way out to this establishment and I actually really enjoyed the broth. I got the spicy broth. It wasn't too spicy. It was just right. It gave the seasoning that I needed it to. I thought the food was great overall I don't know. I just feel like it was missing something considering go to a lot of hot pot. I just can't figure out what it was missing, but overall, it was a beautiful scenery. I've been here before, but years ago. I visited recently because I heard they renovated. Gorgeous interior. We were greeted kindly by staff and enjoyed a great meal. They have the conveyor belt system, but also have a fridge full of other ingredients to enjoy with your hot pot. For meats, they have four options on the menu and you order it with the staff and they will bring it to your table. I ordered the herbal broth, and it was decent. It isn't super flavorful, but it gets better with time. The more meat and ingredients you cook in it, the better it gets. I also like their hot bar, they have fried snacks and crawfish. The crawfish was spicy and flavorful and I liked it a lot. They also have some desserts as well. The sauce bar also had all the essentials. A very solid hot pot spot! The beef was super tender and I've already come back since that visit. The prices are also reasonable. I believe it's $28.99 a person for dinner! Vegetarian-friendly hot pot place! We had a few vegetarians in our group and they were still able to enjoy the experience since you get your own broth and can pick out your own food (the tomato broth is the only non-veg broth). When you sit down, you give the server your broth choice and meat (unlimited) choices. Then go get your sauces and grab plates off the conveyer belt! There are about 3 options for noodles, there's napa cabbage and other veggies, rice cakes, fish balls, quail eggs, tofu, mushrooms, etc. The good stuff came much less frequently down the conveyer belt. I think there could've been more options for the sides. I got the classic broth which I don't recommend for the lack of flavor. The tom yum one tasted better. Our server wasn't fluent in English, but she did come by 4 times to refill our water! I would recommend coming early - we came at 6:30pm on a Monday and it was nearly empty, but full with a wait once it hit 7:30. Overall fun experience to come with a group of 6 or less! This review is based on a Thursday evening at 6pm. White couple who loves them some food and doesn't give two sh*ts that we are the only white people in a joint...You don't speak English-great I'll point to things and smile. Our server doesn't give us every tiny helpful detail-because it's our first time...We do not care! What we order isn't what we are are given-awesome it probably tastes better anyway! So on to the meal...it was our first revolving Hot Pot experience and so that fact is going to be reflected in this review. We loved it! The service was good. Our server was a laidback dude, some would call him aloof, but he was polite and helpful, but didn't pester. Him being soft spoken and wearing a mask made for him having to repeat himself quite a bit with all the various tables. He smiled-even got a few chuckles out of him, kept our waters filled, tended to our sake and brought extra napkins...like what more do we need! THE SAUCE STATION....I repeat the sauce station!! That was the highlight...we took full advantage of it..the special sauce was delish and spicy...yum! We love our sauces and dipping things in ALL the things! Meat selection-Thin sliced..pork belly, brisket, lamb and chicken. You have to request these separate to what is floating around on the belt. What is on the belt is seafood related and these tiny little sausages which were a yummy little porky treat...I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in them. ~They were out of mashed proteins because of "labor shortages"-we didn't miss them, because we didn't even know they were really a thing to miss. Seafood-whole shrimp, mussels, clams, white fish, some other white fish, squid and fish balls, Veggies-Wood ear, mushrooms, fungus, cabbage, mixed greens, taro, radish, more cabbage, potato, chrysanthemum(which is really good), bok choy and I'm probably forgetting a few others. Other offerings-Thin and thicker rice noodles, glass noodle, ramen noodle, pork dumplings, fried dough, tofu-couple of varieties...what I think was rice cakes, it very well may have been sliced radish. Kelp, beef/pork/fish balls, corn and probably 2-3 other things I'm leaving out. I'm sure it varies based on volume and availability of things. The broth we picked was Tom Yum and Tomato. Both were a little on the bland side, but after a couple of spoonfuls of the various sauce station pickings-we were in business..but wanted to make note of it. You will probably want to add additional seasoning before you dive in with all the meat/veg. We are dippers so we were perfectly fine dipping our stuff in the sauces too. ~Don't forget to grab a ladle, you'll want it for chasing the floaty bits from your broth-if you don't see it, then ask! ~May also want to ask for a bowl...they give you plates, but a small bowl would have served as a better food vehicle. Not a knock-but looking back I wished I'd asked for one. Two people, a medium bottle of sake 20% tip ran us just short of $100 bucks. I came to find out the shrimp paste has a decent amount of filler in it and tastes different than what I'm used to and overall consistency is a bit odd. The wait staff was attentive with meat requests and the conveyor belt for everything else was fun to see/use especially if you've never been to a restaurant that uses one. There are lots of new hot pot places popping up that are more expensive but I think I will be visiting some of the others like Xi and Chubby Cattle for that extra extra and hope it's similar to hai di Lao. This place is awesome! We visited for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the atmosphere. It was lively and bright. The food was delicious, fresh and is much better variety compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Customer service was top-notch. Lori, our server, was very friendly, hospitable, helpful and such a joy to meet! She even showed us their two karaoke rooms, perfect for hosting private events such as birthday parties and meetings. AYCE hot pot thats pretty good For broth, we got the spicy and tomato. The spicy was way better than I expected, and the tomato was solid. Considering places like 9292 shabu doesn't even have tomato anymore and their "spicy" is very mediocre, the broth here was very good. For meat, we got some lamb and beef. Both were good. No smell, and very thinly sliced, like impressively well sliced. Nothing mind blowing but solid meat quality for AYCE. The sauce station was a easy 10/10. Red and white fermented tofu sauce. Both black and white vinegar. Both peanut and sesame sauce. One of the most well prepared sauce stations around Atlanta/Duluth. Service was solid. Other reviews had a mix of super entitled people (why would you bring toddlers to hot pot???) and foreigners, but if you speak Chinese and aren't awkward, waving down a server is very easy. You need to order meat directly from the servers. This isn't stated anywhere, which other reviewers got upset about, but having raw meat on the conveyor would be hugely unsanitary and wasteful. Many of the less popular items also need to be ordered directly, like tomatoes and fried tofu, but everything always came out quickly after ordered. Overall, don't bring your kids here, have someone who knows how hot pot works, and don't be rude or entitled, and this place is a solid AYCE hot pot spot. read more

Nine Spices is an AYCE 2 hour limit for about $25. That's where it would differ from iluvhotpot where it's based off of per plate. I think another big difference is the changes at the sauce bar. This place has Sacha which is the Chinese version of BBQ and it is awesome when it comes to dipping into for hotpot, at least in my opinion. Another thing that separates this place from a similar place with conveyor belts is that Nine Spices serves pork belly. It's pretty rare to see that because I understand that the freshness factor comes into play there. Nine Spices gets around this issue because the conveyor belts here are smaller so it gets to the back kitchen quicker. Seating here is a bit limited. Nine Spices has seating in table format in the center, but off to the side they have a hot pot bar where you can sit individually. They only allow parties up to 4 to do that if all the tables are gone. And because it's AYCE, each table can sit up to 2 hours... I don't know if they've ever kicked anyone out before, but it won't be me! All in all, if you've been to a hotpot with conveyor belts it's not much different. The main differences are the selections, sauces, and some of the type of broths (and a time limit). I would suggest this place if you're really hungry and if you're into hotpot. It wouldn't hurt to try it out, you're not going to lose anything and you're going to come out with a full stomach. One final solid tip is to not be afraid to ask for certain dishes. I'm totally not a hot pot person, but Nine Spices def gave me a positive impression last Sat evening when it was pouring outside. For $23.99, it's an all you can eat. It's individual pots so you aren't fighting friends for that last piece of meat. There is a 2 hr time limit, but that's an abundance of time to consume to your belly's contentment. Our group literally stuffed our faces with food for 20 mins then started to chat afterwards. We then sat around digesting the food. What makes this place more unique is the conveyor belt of meats, veggies, and other goodies that revolve around. You grab whatever you want, and the staff will come clear the empty plates. It's sort of like Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, but you've already paid a set price regardless of the number of plates you take. For meat choices, you'll have the option of lamb and beef. They also have chicken and pork belly according to the menu, but we didn't see this so perhaps they alternate their meats. For seafood, there were mussels, small and medium clams, shrimp, squid, and fish. As for the broth, there are 7 flavors. The herbal was popular at our table (and was also the waiter's rec). The spicy was fairly spicy as the hubs ordered this; it was a manageable spicy level if that's your flair. Remember that all members of your party (or at least the other 5 that will be sitting with you) must be present as there is a time limit. Nine Spices is located within the complex of Sweet Hut so there are plenty of parking. Their location is a little to the right of Snowflake so it's sort of in the middle of the strip. I used to come to 89 Hot Pot all the time and was very interested in this place since I visited one a Nine Spices Hot Pot few months ago when I was on vacation in the Clearwater Beach, FL area. I loved it and super impressed. The location in FL had a Korean bbq AYCE option on top of the Hot Pot AYCE as well. The decor as changed and looks a little bit more upscale than before. It looks a bit cleaner than before. So I came in on a Sunday afternoon, it didn't appear to be super busy as they only have a limited number of booths. They have super large booths of 9 or more and they got your 4 people booths on the left. Then they got a bar like long table where you can seat. The waiter tried to seat us at the bar area and I told him that's a negative, we wanted a booth. He did not want to us sit in the large booths which were all empty and said it would be a 40 minutes way. I got angry and was about to leave, that's stupid when you have a regular paying customer come in and don't want to give them a larger booth. He finally said it would 10-14 min as we got lucky and a couple was leaving. The female owner/manager who is the same as 89 Hot Pot sat her normal location(behind the counter) not friendly face as usual. This place has no menu so for first timers, you got no idea on what they all offer on the AYCE menu. There was a few things that was not on the conveyor belt that I wanted.(Enoki mushroom and Beef brisket). So unless you been to 89 Hot Pot before, your not going to know what's missing. During the first 15 minutes, there was no beef brisket until two tables asked for it. Then they started to put it on the belt. Waiter service is pretty decent, I would say way better than before. The sauce bar is as the same as before and is towards the front now. I enjoyed the shrimp, brisket, tofu skins, mushrooms, spinach, and clams. They have several variety of clams to choose from. I got the Lamb and brisket confused at first. Apparently there is a sign that tells you which color plate is what kinda meat. I would of like to see more corn on the belt. A green tea ice cream for dessert would be nice. This place falls alittle short compared to the Tampa FL location. Their sauce bar actually included a few side dishes as well which this place doesn't. And of course , this place doesn't have korean bbq included in their price. This place is still $23.99 for AYCE all day. At least the price didn't go up. I didn't give this place 5 stars bc of the lack of booths and the employee asking us to wait 40 min when there was 4 large booths a available. Time will tell if I get sick from here as I am only a few hours into it after I ate. I have gotten sick a few times while it was 89 Hot Pot so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Doesn't look very impressive when you walk in, especially because the window still has the 89 hotpot sign that I think was left over from previous ownership. We made a reservation ahead of time for 7 people and the booth was apparently just enough for 6 patrons. It was either 2 people sharing one pot or all of us eating at the hotpot seating at the conveyor belt. Because we were there to celebrate a birthday and wanted to be able to have conversations, we choose the booth. Service here is HORRIBLE for the most part because the staff is not very friendly and very hard to get the attention of if I need a refill, utensils, or napkins, but I will say that they come by very often to pick up the empty plates. Additionally, a mandatory tip is added for parties over 5 I believe-not a big issue since I still think they cleared our table fairly quick. As for the food, most of the items for hotpot travel through the conveyor belt where we pick up items that we want. If we can't find something, we can ask our server. It will take awhile to get because, as I mentioned, not very attentive or friendly servers. For about $24ish dollars per person for All-You-Can-Eat hotpot, this was not bad. Ingredients were pretty fresh. There was also a sauce bar for you to make your own sauce. You start off by selecting the broth you want. I tried the bone broth and it was very disappointing. There was a lack of flavor. The broth is very important in hotpot so I was highly disappointed. I've been coming here for several years and it's still my favorite hotpot place. I love the revolving belt and you can still order from the wait staff if it's not on the belt. I always get the pickled cabbage broth because it's the best! The special sauce needs no other additions to it and is perfect for dipping your meat in there. Even though the weather is getting warm, I still crave for hotpot and will still go. It's all you can eat for $29.99 and you get 15% off Mon-Thurs so we always go during that time. This place used to be my forever hot pot. It used to be called 89. They hit down for a bit a little before covid hit, but I havent been back since. I came back cause it's almost winter now, and I'm not very happy with the change. I guess since it's covid time they have to make it more accessible without having face to face contact. But they took away some soup base and things that made it different than other hot pot places. I'm not usually picky either, but the price is ok for the food. So I gave it three stars. But I'm only writing this review because this was my fav hot pot spot. :( But it's def not the worst. So I would recommend it over some others. read more
