Herbal broth and the "spicy" beef tallow broth
    Tanya H.

When I dined here a few months ago, they did not have AYCE and it was quite pricey but SOOOOO delicious. Their skewers were TASTY! The broth was FLAVORBOMBS! I'm used to hot pot having bland broth and requiring a lot of sauce (which I don't mind!) but I will note that even the herbal broth was tasty enough that you didn't need to dip anything into the sauce! I can't wait to go back and try their NEW AYCE option!

Cool hotpot place, they have skewers for 50 cents-$1and plates with different prices. The soup base we ordered was the spicy beef (medium) and bone broth. The soup base itself is $18. We ordered a few plates from the menu, the tender beef, crispy fried pork and house special beef. The crispy fried pork was pretty good and came with a spicy dipping powder. The sauce and appetizer bar is $3 per person and unlimited. I enjoyed the dessert from this bar. Some of the meat skewers come pre marinated which added lots of flavor. I would say they have a good selection of skewers but some were more worth it than others. A small single piece of tofu is 0.50 cents which I think is a little overpriced, at least two pieces would be better for that price. The service was friendly and fast here. The server came to refill our soup and water frequently. I will say though beware when ordering the spicy soup, the picture I included was the oil we got out from the soup and this wasn't even half of it. Overall, nice concept and fun meal to have with friends but definitely look to spend a pretty penny here as the skewers are not very filling.

Just revisited Nice2MeetU, and now it's All-You-Can-Eat! Lunch is $24.99, dinner $34.99. Tons of skewer options, fresh plates, and a great mix of veggies and proteins to throw in the pot. They also have a few premium items like duck blood, duck tongue, tender beef, and abalone for a small extra charge, which were all totally worth it. If you're a hot pot fan, this is a must-try!

Wonderful service, the nicest servers and staff ever! Love the sauce bar, side dishes, and dessert bc they're also all you can eat for only $3. The skewers were pretty good, ranging from $.5 to $1 each for stuff like beef, mushrooms, tofu, taro, yam, etc etc. lots of variety. My favorite is the hundred layer tofu! Also the plates were somewhat worth it, and we got rice cakes and tofu skin. We also ordered the tender beef which was surprisingly super tender (I know it's in the name but we didn't expect it to be so tender it basically melted in your mouth) so that was very good. We would totally come here again when we don't want to do an all you can eat hotpot and just want to order individual items.

We were going to our favorite Northern Chinese place but decided to give this a try instead. We were not disappointed! Pretty cool self-serve set-up where you help yourself to plates of food and skewers from the cold case for your hot pot. At the end of the meal, they tally your tab using the number of plates and bowls. What I love about the setup is you pick only the protein and veggies that you like. There was also a sides and dessert bar for an extra $2.99 per person which was a good deal since among the offerings was clams and shrimp. Finally, I loved the Asian chic decor with the cool wood/bamboo and rattan light fixtures. A huge improvement from the decor of the previous restaurant which had a weird LED screen for the ceiling.

The mild spicy broth and Chinese herbal soup were packed with flavor. Def coming back with my friends again! really love this skewer&hotpot concept. also enjoyed fresh watermelon in dessert bar.

You can choose two different soup bases. The two we tried were tomato and herb, both delicious. We will go back to explore all!

When we arrived, I realized the location used to be the old Hong Kong Supermarket -- only longtime locals would probably remember that. The layout inside was pretty interesting. There was a Te'amos milk tea shop in the middle, Lao Szechuan on the right, and the hot pot & BBQ restaurant on the left. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly helped us get seated. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. The food came out surprisingly fast, and they even used robots to deliver dishes to the table, which was smooth and efficient. For hot pot, my personal favorites were the fatty beef slices, lamb, beef tripe, black tripe, tofu skin rolls, squid flowers, enoki mushrooms, corn, lotus root slices, kelp knots, fish balls, and beef tendon balls. Everything tasted great with the broth and my favorite sesame dipping sauce. On the BBQ side, the standout items for me were the cumin lamb, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, short ribs, and squid. We weren't exactly BBQ experts, so some meats weren't cooked perfectly, but the flavor was still really enjoyable -- and the best part was that you could keep ordering as much as you wanted. Honestly, for around $40 per person, it felt like a very good value. My parents both thought it was worth the price. We left full and satisfied, and the service was always attentive whenever we needed something. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Mother's Day meal, and I'd definitely come back again with friends next time.

Food: 3.5/5 there is a Kanpai near my hometown that was more 4/5, so I thought I would get a similar experience here, but their hot food bar had barely warm food and not as many options. Tables have spots for individual pots, and the BBQ grill is shared. The Tom Yum broth itself was good. Meat quality was up to par. Vegetables could have been fresher. For anyone with allergies: the sauce bar had a thoroughly written out allergy table and was clean, which was a plus. Drinks: Mai Tai was actually pretty good, and this is coming from someone that typically sticks with a beer. Sapporo is available on draft! Service/cleanliness: 3/5 the host sat us, a party of 3, down at a table meant for 6, which was interesting. We were quite literally one of 2 parties there, and only one other couple showed up while we dined. Our table was also the only table that had a grill with browned oil that came from who knows where. We had it changed to a clean one, but when we were handed the tablet to order, this was also covered in grease/oil. The bathrooms and sauce bar were clean, but at the table I was not satisfied. The server herself was very nice and explained the AYCE experience well. Ambiance: quiet music in the background, plenty of tables that could sit 4, 6, and 8.

I was pretty familiar with hot pot, as I have been before. But I still enjoyed a little refresher from my uncle and cousin. You pick two broths, and then you can select all the meat and toppings you want. We did some lamb, pork, and they also got beef (I don't eat beef.) It was nice to see that the broths are split in a large bowl, so I could cook my meat separately from theirs and vice versa. The toppings are things like veggies and noodles. We got some vermicelli noodles and bok choy. There is also a topping/sauce bar where you can make your own creations of things you want to dip your meat into. They have a huge assortment of items to choose from. Things like chili oil, green onions, peppers, gochujang, etc. You can make sauces as spicy as you want. I enjoy some spice, so I made mine pretty spicy. I liked that it was self-serve, so I could go get more as I please. The server was attentive and quick to refill our waters and bring us more items when we asked for them. Me and my uncle both got beers as well. They have a good selection of beers to choose from. I will definitely be back because it was so good! Everything tasted so flavorful and it was so easy to pick and choose what you wanted! Also, it's the perfect thing to eat when it's cold and you are feeling a little congested!

It's a great casual spot for quality and the price. I would highly recommend and will be coming back!

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!
