Definately a higher tier of quality and presentation. I was beyond surprised at the price to portion for their lunch specials. Their sashimi was about 50% larger than what is considered normal in America and the fish on the sushi totally covered the rice were large enough to touch the plate on both ends as you may witness at better establishments. You MUST get their spicy tuna and salmon sashimi served in a hollowed out lemon. To me, this was the perfect definition to this restaurant and should have been their signature speciality as it was modern, unique, and most importantly delish! This dish was actually the first spicy tuna that was kind of spicy which made it phenomenal. They come in perfect small bite sized cuts and were perfectly dressed in their spicy mayo sauce Was not a huge fan of their signature dragon eye roll. Their salmon was baked too much and didnt provide a good texture but I usually don't eat cooked salmon for that reason. read more

Called at 7:15 on a Saturday night and they weren't taking any more orders, seriously? They cant use that there's not enough business to stay open. When Covid is over and business is low they certainly cant use it as an excuse when they close early for no reason and turn business away, very sad. read more

Sushi is great. Wish it was all you can't eat. If you go there hungry and you need a lot of sushi to fill you up its going to be a very expensive night. My personal favorite is the Jamaican roll. Definitely recommend it. They recently expanded their facility. Doubled it in size. Thank god! It was a terribly undersized place but now it's perfect size in opinion. All in all its terrific fresh sushi and good service but is definitely on the pricey side. I've been here between 5-10 times service has been good. Accept for one time we went at a time when it wasn't busy at all and the waitress never came Anne asked if we needed anything. To drink refills at all and we ordered a troll that's served hot and it came out nice cold. Was very displeased. But went again since then and didn't have that issue read more

Niko Sushi - Rainbow rolls Alaska roll. Jamaican roll smoked salmon and cream cheese roll and shrimp tempura roll!! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Tecumseh, Ontario

My family and I have just recently moved to Windsor from Toronto, and I'd have to say we have never eaten sushi this good before. (Possibly because of their special Niko sauce). I ordered their Salmon Sushi, Sashimi and California, and they were very clean and nicely made. It was delicious! The rest of my family got their Sushi for 2, which was chef's choice. We also got their Dragon Eye, and the cooked salmon tastes so good in the deep fried roll and Niko Sauce. Overall, the experience was amazing, our waitress was very kind and got us everything we needed, and the boss even came to say hi to us! read more

Very nice atMosphere. Food was typical. Nothing out of the norm. A little pricey for lunch. But satisfying. When I'm in that area, I would definitely go back. read more

Nah. Typical mall-type fast roll, too much rice. Placed my order on phone for pick-up... Have eaten in on a few occasions so will admit the restaurant is clean, service friendly and catering. But when I order spicy california rolls, ask for no cucumber, all avocado, crab, do NOT have my order ready with a smile unless its what I asked for. Especially when I clearly have told you that I will pay extra if need be. Lucky I looked. Pollock is not crab. It is what these sushi places call fake-crab. And don't give me that look of " oh, so sorry" . You're not sorry, you tried to pass off nasty pollock to a crab lover. And charge crab prices. Not impressed. Whole sushi boat ruined. Keep it, change your menu to state "artificial crab". And put it "where the sun don't shine" ... read more

The atmosphere of Niko on Amycroft is great. If you're looking for a nice place to go out and enjoy some sushi this place shouldn't disappoint. It's not big by any means but it's quaint and well decorated. The sushi at Nikos is pretty good. Niko sauce is a garlic-type sauce and the prices are reasonable. They have a small menu of non-sushi-type dishes as well if you're going out with someone who'd rather stick to more standard fair. read more

I've been here a few times, ordered out and dined in. The food: A number of problems here with the sushi. The flavor of the rolls I've tried never really jumps out at me, bland and not memorable. Still yummy though, just not spectacular. I've had much better at places in and around metro Detroit. I'm convinced the soy sauce is watered down. It has a weak flavor and is more transparent than the regular stuff. I am a ginger addict, I usually ask for extra. The ginger here is overly bitter and I do not like it. Last time I had miso soup it was lukewarm. It also had chives that overpowered (or covered up) the (lack of) miso flavor. Selection is somewhat lacking as two of my favorites to order inari and tamago are not listed on the menu. The atmosphere: Interior of the restaurant is nice and clean and new. It would be a good place for a date **record scratch** except the terrible pop music blaring from the house speakers. Please either get some taste or turn it down, thanks. I guess it could be worse, and yes we will probably continue to order from here since I'm not sure if there is a better sushi place in the area. We will just bring our own soy sauce next time! :) read more

So I actually really like this place. Now that it's expanded the tiny cramped and "intimate" nook in the wall has turned into a great restaurant. The staff are friendly and the decor is very chic and sleek. I wouldn't bring a group larger than 6 here though--I feel it'd be too cramped. Also they have a fully stocked bar. Now the food. The food is delicious and really affordable when compared to high end places. You're looking at a $30 dinner depending on how you do it. The portion sizes are massive and one of the great appeals this place has but it's also a con. Sushi is something you don't bite into, otherwise it all falls apart. So if the piece is too big to fit in your mouth then it's a hassle to eat. Id love for them to fix that because it's really my only qualm about this place. I highly recommend coming for a date night and giving them a try. read more

Horrible experience!!! Do not go here!! told the lady that the order was wrong, she made me bring back the food and opened all the bags to check, they took the order wrong and didn't give us the correct amount we ordered.. horrible experience never will come back again!!!! How do I bring the food back when she opened all the bags and now I get to go back and feed my family after she opened to check everything... she blamed it on me although the person the took the order was wrong!! No customer service read more

Waited for food the longest time! Then they brought over wrong food, and forgot half the order(more waiting ) sushi was not good at all, rice was sticky and gooey. I won't recommend this place at all. read more

Great tasting rolls and decent prices - just wish the service could keep up. I do love Niko Sushi and trust me, I eat out and take out from food here a lot. I am never disappointed with the food - the Niko Sauce is a specialty that no other restaurant can duplicate and the rolls are large for the price. They offer a great variety in menu even if you don't like sushi so you can take other acquaintances there with you and they can order off of the cooked menu. Kamikaze, Passion, 911 rolls are my favourite. Like I said, the only downside is the service - they are usually short-staffed which means that if there is only one server there, they are in charge of all tables, hosting, ordering, as well as taking phone calls, cashing out take out customers and getting those food orders ready as well. So if you don't mind waiting it's not an issue, however sometimes it is quite annoying. read more

Waited for 15 min for a waitress to take order from us. No water or anything served before that. Food is below average. read more

Ok sushi, not held well together but the flavour is there. However don't come here unless you have a 2 hour block of time to eat. It took 45 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we received out food. Then after eating and trying to flag the waitress down to get our bill it was another 20 minutes. I eventually just got up and went over to her and grabbed the bill. If this was the best sushi I ever had then I would say it was worth waiting the 45 minutes but it wasn't. There's no point in going there when you can go to AYCE sushi. It's also very small and feels like you're eating in a closet. Overrated, over priced and overall waste of time. read more

This place is terrible... It doesn't even taste good and their sushi is not even fresh and cheap. I tried it a couple times at the mall and ordered take out from the lakeshore area and it was truly not my cup of tea. I'd rather eat at another sushi restaurant than come to niko's again. If you are looking for cheap and high school quality sushi, this restaurant is for you. read more

The food at Niko Sushi is very good, and the service is decent as well. It is a little expensive but seems to be comparative to the other local sushi restaurants. read more

Although it's not super authentic Japanese food, the rolls are huge and delicious and the prices are good. We've gotten to know a few of the servers as we come here often, so service is usually good. It can get super busy in the evening, so reservations would be recommended. :) read more

Horrible customer service. I always order a takeout, they give you what they want. I called just wondering if I got Wrong order maybe by mistake, only because it's not the only time that happened . I spoke to the manager. And she literally told me that's what I ordered and she couldn't do anything about it.. REALLY ! I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THE MONEY IT REALLY BOTHERS ME THAT THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER . Next time just apologize and make it right and don't call the customer a liar unless you can prove it an a recorded message read more

Best sushi sauce in the city, fair prices also! Looks really nice since the renovation too, much less congested

I visited this place twice, I'm not impressed with their sushi at all. Too much rice in the rolls, and very bland. The restaurant is nice and the service is good but the food not so much. read more

Great tasting sushi for an excellent price. Have been eating here for quite some time. Service is quick. Staff are very polite. Sushi chefs roll and make sushi very well. No complaints about this restaurant. read more

I wasn't impressed. Service is very poor. From the minute we walked in as a group, the servers acted like they didn't want us there (group of about 12 people). They mixed up the orders and they didn't know what anyone ordered even though we all put our names on the sheets. At the end they were even expecting tips but it wasn't worth it for the bad service. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!! Not sure about the others but we just got home and weren't even fed!! We were the third table in to the restaurant, I made a point of how lucky we were to be third in line for all the good it did us!!After three tables were fed ahead of us I asked what was the hold up, and was told ours was on the way! After an hour and a half and watching three more tables served we asked again and told the same thing, they were working on it!! Three tables that came in after us were fed, paid and left and we still didn't have our dinner!! At that point we were just too angry too eat!! Never again will we go to a Nikos sushi as long as we live!! Oh and they made us pay for the appetizer that they were actually able to serve us!! Go for real sushi to a real sushi restaurant, cream cheese does not belong in sushi!! read more

Worst service I ever had in my life! We came and were given a bare table and a menu by the hostess (I made reservation in advance). No drinks (even water) were offered, no one took order until I came to the bar and asked to (we did not know who should serve our table so I went to the bar). Table was not set up at all when food was brought (BY THAT TIME WE WERE SITTING THERE FOR 40 MIN) and the waitress did not even notice that until I mentioned we are not used to eat sushi with fingers without napkins, chopsticks and plates. I asked for low sodium soy sauce and of course they did not have one. No water refill. When I asked a waitress passing by with water to fill my glass she did but showed her attitude and mentioned she was not our waitress and was not to serve us. Food was average. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

If you are going to make a sweet potato roll, make sure you include the sweet potato! This roll is is all rice and tempura with a tinny sliver of sweet potato. Tou would have to look really hard to find. Also...tone down the rice, i would rather pay a dollar more and get a better roll with less rice. read more

Great atmosphere, small dining area. There's always a line up on weekends because of the limited number of seats in the restaurant. Then there's those who order take-out and decide to sit by the bar - making the restaurant feel really cramped. Their sushi rolls are jumbo size, a lot bigger than your average size. read more
