Hubby and I laughed at how many times we zipped past the restaurant without noticing it. My husband and I both ordered the Major Tom Khatsu, which has a coconut chicken broth base. The chicken katsu pieces were the perfect level of crispy without being heavily breaded. There was also a nice little kick to the dish, which made it so, so yummy. Our friends got the Shoyu ramen with pork belly, and the Corned Beef ramen. The Shoyu dish seemed to be more enjoyable. Though we stuck with water, cans of Faygo pop seemed to be the drink offerings - other than alcoholic beverages. Areas for improvement include the waiting. Johnny Noodle King is a small place, with a main dining area and then what seems to be a bar area attached. We initially waited by the door for our table along with another small group (we were a party of four). We were then asked to go to the bar area to wait so that it would clear the door, but found it interesting how we were asked to move but not the other group. Also, we were standing away from the doormat we were not obstructing anyone's movements. The wait was long, and we asked if we could order food to the bar area (as opposed to waiting for a table). We were told 'no', yet there was a table full of patrons who were eating. There was no notification system, so our friend had to keep going to the front to see if our table was ready. Don't get me wrong; 'hooray' to Johnny Noodle King for having such great business volume. However, they need a way to manage it so that people will not be put off. Once we were seated, we did have good service from our waitstaff, and the food was very good. My husband and I plan to return to explore more of the menu. Hopefully, we can pick a time of day when waiting won't be such a big issue.

We had a limited time to be here since we had reservations next door, but we were able to pit in a quick order for some dumplings and we ordered the lamb and mushroom ones and were wanting more. While dining on the patio, my friends and I admittedly lost track of time while catching up. However, instead of being approached with professionalism or courtesy, we were aggressively told that our table was reserved and that we had been there too long. What made this confusing was that there were several empty two- and four-seat tables around us. The staff member(who we later found out was actually the General Manager) partially cleared our table, walked away, then came back to remove the remaining items. We understood we had been there for a while. What we did not understand was the rude and unnecessarily aggressive approach. As she walked away, we were speaking amongst ourselves trying to understand why the interaction felt so hostile then she turned around, came back to our table, and said, "You've been here too long, that's why." No one had spoken to us beforehand or attempted to handle the situation respectfully, so her tone and energy felt offensive and escalating. On my way out, I attempted to address the situation directly because I found her behavior unprofessional--only to learn she was the General Manager herself. Rather than listening or de-escalating, the situation escalated further and my friends and I were asked to leave. I have never been asked to leave an establishment before and never expected that type of behavior from someone in a leadership position. Hospitality is not just about food, it's also about how people are treated. This experience left a very bad impression and honestly made me question why the interaction became so confrontational in the first place. I hope ownership takes a serious look at how guests are being spoken to and treated because no one should leave feeling disrespected after simply trying to enjoy a meal with friends.

I started with the pickled appetizer plate, which was a great light starter with lots of flavor, then ordered the spicy Tori chicken ramen.
