I come here all the time, they have a great atmosphere, attentive staff and it's a great place to grab a drink with some coworkers or a quick bite before a show or movie. They just need to work on the music, it's a little hard to deal with. I can't explain the genre but it's English, and not rock, hip hop or country. It just sounds weird. This is called the "Three Musketeers Roll" and it has NO RICE! Spicy tuna, salmon and yellowtail roll wrapped in soy paper then topped with more tuna, salmon and yellowtail mingled with avocado. There is a wasabi dressing but it is subtle, just giving you the tones of the spice without the hard kick in the mouth. This was realistically one of the top 5 sushi dishes I have ever had. Perfect temperature and without the rice you can certainly appreciate the intricacy that goes into sushi. From the moment I sat down I knew this was going to be great. My gin and tonic to start was on point, which we all know is hit or miss. The bartender was so nice we chatted the whole time about Food Networks Chopped (which he kindly turned in for me). Not a good experience. This place is terrible with reservations. We had a 630 reservation, got seated at 645 but then just waited at the habichi table for over an hour before the chef showed up. So you are eating about an hour and half after the reservation. Also the food was not worth the hour and half wait. read more

We were me we checked back on and the staff ran away every time the took something from table. We were never offered dessert, water refills, drink refills... it was the most awkward awful service ever... and for $90 I do not recommend ever going back! No wonder it was empty! I had a very good experience at this establishment. I went in last week at around 7 PM with three of my coworkers. We ordered a large array of foods. Everything from Duck to veggie wrap. Soups sides and main dishes. I would say all of the sushi rolls were very high-quality, all of the sushi tasted fresh. They have very little on their menu in the way of American style food. Don't go to this restaurant if you're looking for generic deep fried chicken. This place is really bad the food is just poor the place is rundown and filthy. We ordered some take out the other day that my son picked up. The food was average but there is no good Chinese food in Tarrytown except for Goosefeather but thats a night out . They made a mistake with one of the items we ordered so we called they said they were sorry and would replace the item for us next time we came. I called to order it and after playing 20 questions with the woman on the phone she said ok ready in 15 minutes . When I arrived to pick it up it was not ready and the manager started to ask more questions how sad. I told him to forget about it, not worth all the hassle. Good job. The TGIFriday's location this hibachi took over was a Westchester mainstay for decades. Same massive parking lot I remember. Quirky cheap neon signage shouts cost-cutting. The renovation inside looks great with numerous hidden seating/dining areas enticing guests to contemplate booking a private party. It looks like they wanted a fancier-type atmosphere but there is a Walmart-esq feel to the furniture. The entrance foyer needs a little TLC. The bar/host desk layout is awkward. Seats were comfy & they don't pack you in like other places - I had elbow room. Food was good, not great though as the Chef had a heavy hand with sauce on my overdone scallops. Shrimp, chicken & beef came out cooked appropriately. Sushi apps were flavorful. Service was very friendly but I agree with some earlier comments that the Chef can be sarcastically aggressive with the sake, making some of the ladies at our table uncomfortable. Such a versatile establishment! If you're in the mood for unique, and fresh sushi or excellent hibachi this is your spot. Located in the heart of Westchester, Nikko has more than enough parking and is fairly large. Upon entering your host will ask you if you are interested in hibachi or sushi and you'll be seated according to what you're in the mood for. The atmosphere is very Japanese and extremely clean. The bathrooms are also single stalls; however, the kind that are all the way to the floor. Additionally, the restaurant is very modern and like I said very clean! The service is amazing and attentive and the food is great! There are so many unique roll options and the portions are huge. By huge I mean one sushi roll is like the size of your palm. The prices are moderate, not expensive nor extremely cheap. For a dinner for two expect to spend maybe $60 including alcohol. Overall, this was my 3rd visit and they never disappoint. read more

So my mother is a a die hard Edo's in Pelham fan. We usually go there every year for her birthday. Well last year was covid so we couldn't go, this year there's still seating regulations and what not so we couldn't get a reservation because they were booked. We've tried other hibachi spots in Westchester like banzai and little Buddha they were just ok, nothing special. A friend of mine recommended Nikko. I called them the day before and they were able to accommodate us, a party of 6. Can I tell you that this will now be my new hibachi spot? The food was so well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sauces were really tasty and the meal portions were generous. I liked how they also included noodles and fried rice, some places have an up-charge for fried rice or they charge you extra for noodles. The prices were reasonable and I see that they have a lunch menu as well. The staff was friendly and efficient and the place was clean. I can't speak on their sushi, since I'm not a sushi person. The rudest experience I've had. Six of us (5 adults, on child/pre-teen) came in to the empty restaurant after my daughter's graduation. Most of our group wanted hibachi, which is why we chose this place, which was also the graduate's pick. My granddaughter ordered something more to her liking rather than hibachi. I went to order sushi because I wasn't as hungry as everyone else and the waitress says, "uh I don't think so. She's (pointing to my granddaughter) already not ordering hibachi, you're not ordering. If you don't like hibachi you can sit over there. (pointing to the regular tables)." i don't know if her implication was that I and my granddaughter would sit apart from my group or that our whole table need not be at the hibachi table. I assumed the latter, though neither I think is the right way to talk to people. I hadn't seen anything in their menu or posted that said the entire party must order hibachi if at the table. I'd think a majority would be fine--especially when we we're the whole table and the restaurant was empty (no one waiting). if they do have a policy, she could have shared it respectfully if not even kindly. I said, "but 4 out of 6 of us are ordering hibachi" (when what I should have said was that we can go somewhere else altogether). At first, trying not to sour my daughter's big day, I conceded and said I'd order the hibachi. She repeats herself and says, "you understand, right?" I said no. As my anxiety and irritation mounted with her nasty attitude, i asked them to cash me out for what had already been served/prepared: the salad, soup, and a soda. I'd drank half a soda. Didn't eat the rest. Paid $9 just to get out of there without losing my cool. Went and sat in the hot car. My family were all considering leaving since the waitress's (maybe owner?) whole tone and attitude made clear our business wasn't wanted. But we had a relatively short window before some had to get to airport and were trying to salvage the experience for my daughter's sake. We've been here three times and loved it each time, unfortunately we always miss happy hour which looks like great deals!!! If you let them know you're in for a quick bite, they will rush it for you. I started visiting Nikko when they first opened three years ago. I was first interested in their Happy Hour, they had great food and drink choices. The staff was friendly from the beginning and when I started to try their entrees they gave me great suggestions. My favorite is the curry shrimp, upon my request they made according to my spicy tolerance which is very high. After three years they continue to give me what I order according to my tolerance. Not only was every single hibachi table filled to capacity with absolutely no spacing or social distancing but there were only 2 hibachi chefs for 6 full tables (10 ppl per table). We waited 20 minutes for water to be served and about 45 minutes for our dinner to be prepared table side (hibachi). I was very concerned about how packed and crowded the dining room was and was basically 12 inches from the table next to us. TL;DR: Don't eat at Nikko in Tarrytown if you're looking for a pleasant experiance. We entered into a fairly empty restaurant at about 11:50/12 o'clock. We were greeted by a nicely mannered hostess who took us to our table. We sat at our table looking over the menus while we waited for our server. The server 'Miya' finally came to order our drinks with the biggest smile she could possibly give (which wasn't a smile at all). She took our drink order and swiftly left without a word. Struck me as a little odd, but I shrugged it off. Miya came back to deliver our drinks and threw the straws with a vengeance onto our table. She then took our food order, she seemed like she was in a bit of a rush to get to the other empty tables she needed to attend to; so, we gave her our orders fast. I ordered steak, Person 2 ordered hibachi shrimp, Person 3 ordered pad thai, and Person 4 ordered a bento box. She snatched, yes snatched the menus away from Person 2 in an agressive manner and strutted away with what had to be the most unamused look I've ever seen on anyone's face. We spent the next 10 minutes chit-chatting about our day, as we waited for our food to be prepared. Have you ever heard of Goldie Locks? What followed was kind of like that, instead of being too hot, too cold and just right; there was 'yummy', 'gross', 'mediocre' and 'whatever'. Person 2 was lucky and got the yummy plate, I got the whatever plate, Person 4 got the mediocre plate, and of course, Person 3 got stuck with the gross plate. Her food was flavorless, soggy and looked like a prison's attempt at Asian food. Person 3 requested some peanut sauce to help flavor it up a little, but of course, they couldn't accommodate that request. How could they? It's not like an Asian restaurant has peanut sauce or anything... Person 3 tried her best to get through it but she just couldn't do it. She sent it back. Miya did not seem to understand why she wanted to take it back, so I grabbed the wheel and tried to make it clear to her. "It was flavorless" I said, "I tried it, it wasn't good. I've ordered this from here before and it is not what I would've expected". She seemed to concede, she took the plate back at around 12:34. Time passed, a lot of time passed... it seemed like we saw every server except Miya. Finally we get someone's attention to get the check. We wait, and wait... and wait. Finally, Miya comes back to our table at 12:58. She has the check in her hand and mumbles something as she started to walk away. I said "excuse me", she mumbled again. "Say again" I exclaimed, she then said, "I forgot the drink". "You forgot the what?" I said as I snatched the check in the same manner of aggression that she took the menu from Person 2. "Did you remove the Pad Thai from our check?" I asked. She responded affirmatively. I then proceeded to complain more, "We waited 23 minutes for our check, the food wasn't good. We had a bad experience overall". She tried to explain to me that it was busy, but I did not buy that. "We were the only ones in the restaurant when we came in, sure it's busy now. But we should've been fine", having enough of the conversation I cut myself off while handing her our cards... "just split the check for us". She said okay, walked away and returned with our cards and said "Thank you, have a nice day" while gently putting the receipts down. This is an absolute hidden gem! Tucked away in the corner of the parking lot, this place was fantastic! It might be a little hard to see the sign when you come off the highway, but I'm glad we did find it as it was a pleasure able dining experience.
