The last meeting I had was with Fabiola and Cesar. They were generous with their knowledge, making practical suggestions, offering to answer questions later even if I didn't go with them. They were so real that I almost couldn't believe they were real! When their bid came back within our budget I just had a huge sense of relief. Amazingly, these good feelings continued throughout the entire construction process. One of the most valuable aspects of working with Conber was the clear communication with us, always letting us know what to expect, checking in just to see if we have any questions. They also had great communication and respect for and from their crew, keeping the construction moving smoothly. Of course their work quality is superb, their attention to detail acute (all while making sure the styles is what you like), but what I remember feeling the most was that I trusted them, which is priceless.

By far THE BEST experience my family has had when it comes to working with contractors. From the…read morefirst time meeting with Fabiola and Cesar when getting the estimate/quote up until the project was completed... it was such a smooth and stress free experience. A kitchen and living room renovation has been in discussion for some time and it was just a matter of finding the right company for the job. We've had some eh experiences with prior contractors with projects at the house so it left an impression that kept us hesitant to look. This was not the case with Conber. During the estimate they gave their suggestion as to what would work as far as what my wife was envisioning. They were very organized from the start. Taking measurements, writing notes, really going in depth as far as the project was concerned. Fabiola and Cesar answers all our questions and suggested what would work and what wouldn't and approximately how long it would take. We've told them our previous experience where the time took so much longer for whet was actually done. They said our renovation would be done it approx 6 weeks. Our previous renovation that was completed took 6 months and it was much smaller than the task we presented to Conber ! So you better believe we wanted to hire Fabiola and Cesar's company . They got back to us with the quote very quick and then we went from there. Fast forward to start of demolition.. The staff that Conber had working were so good! The timeliness, organization, and cleanliness of the job were on point! They said they'll be there at a certain time, they were there way before said time. They kept the demo mess where it belonged and it didn't find its way into places it didn't need to be. The next step after the demolition was no different. They continued to be organized and efficient and always showed up in a timely fashion. We appreciated the fact that we knew what time to expect them and what time their end of day was. And it was always consistent unless we were notified. Which is a huge plus to me. Another game changer was the fact that either Fabiola or Cesar would show up in the morning and at end of the working day to check on progress. That showed me that the project was just as important to them as it was to us. They also were just a phone call or text away so reaching them was never an issue. Don't want the review to be much longer than it is already but the end product was nothing short of amazing. They gave a new life to the house. Everyone is so happy with the finished product. The only bad part of it all is that we won't be seeing Fabiola, Cesar, and the crew daily, it was something my daughter got used to. To sum it all up we are glad we went chose Comber and we will not hesitate to reach out to them again for future projects. We HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for home projects. Thank you Conber !

We wanted to 1) add a bathroom to the existing square footage, and also 2) close off and renovate our current guest bath and open it up into our bedroom for a master en suite. I found Jim Huth Construction a while back and loved his work and design aesthetic. Davide was prompt in responding to my request for an estimate and I was super impressed with how thorough he was in estimating the job. He was very detail-oriented carefully measuring the space, and was thoughtful in his recommendations. This, compared to other contractors who threw out numbers within a few minutes and left, helped set the stage for the incredible work they would eventually do for us. We met with a handful of contractors and like some other reviewers here, got a wide range of estimates. Jim's estimate fell in the middle - not the lowest but not the highest. It was just as important to me to find someone who was reliable, trustworthy, mindful of the budget and understood our timing needs, and Jim and his team checked all of those boxes. I was five months pregnant at the time and the area of the house we were having the bathroom added to would also involve the baby's nursery. I grew up in a house that was almost always under some sort of renovation, and I've never seen a team work as swiftly as Jim's. They were ON IT. They knew how important it was to finish the bathroom addition before the baby's arrival, and their team was always on-time, clean, and cheerful. It's very obvious they take great pride in their work and they all make a terrific team! Jim was here every day either working or checking in, and we got to know what team members handled what trade and looked forward to seeing them everyday. Davide was always easy to reach if I had any questions and he must be a mindreader because he nailed it with design and materials, especially tile. He brought tons of options and made it so easy for me. Look no further -- Jim and his team are the best in the business. Honest, reliable, friendly and really a breath of fresh air. We couldn't be happier! *They're still wrapping a few things up, but I'll post more pictures soon!

How can you love a contractor? Well, we did! And we love you guys--Tom, Adam, and the whole team at…read moreShenon Construction! Let us explain why. Tom is the owner of Shenon Construction, and as first time homeowners with a master bedroom addition being our first construction project, we approached Tom both cautiously and slowly. We first talked 8 years ago and Tom was so incredibly patient, answering all our questions and going round after round with meetings. He led us through HVAC and window considerations before we even committed to the project. He subsequently drafted a thoughtful and detailed plan, connecting us with his designer to get things started. Enter COVID and our infamously slow city planning department. It took almost five years just to get our permit approval. Tom kept advising us throughout and his recommended designer diligently re-submitted plan after plan. Tom never showed an ounce of impatience and after five years, a project needs to be re-bid. Impressively, Tom encouraged us to price compare contractors once again. We knew Tom so well at this point and he still carefully re-walked us through every step of the process and cost. Once again, no one came close to Tom and Shenon in their ability to earn our trust. When we finally kicked things off at the end of July, we were introduced to our project manager, Adam. Hands down the most detail-oriented, organized, and responsible person we've ever met, Adam was at our house almost every day. Memorably, he echoed Tom in saying every tiny detail or concern goes through them. From then on, we saw every worker arrive on time doing incredible work. We discussed endlessly the closet sizes, number of light fixtures, which windows pass code, who does lead remediation, replacing the basement access, where to fit a sun tunnel, what height to make our deck, yes or no to gutters, color choice after color choice, and on and on. Adam smiled throughout, had answers to every question, and always replied with a 'just let me know'! Everything was built to meet Tom and Adam's high standards. We received to-do lists weekly, a spread out payment schedule, and met with scores of expert sub-contractors. Tom and Adam did all this while juggling around our living in the home, limiting dust and noise, and being ever mindful of our cat. Adam went above-and-beyond here, as well, responding to our group text chats anytime day or night and was excellent handling our day-to-day needs while sending the big project questions to Tom. We ultimately became friendly with these guys and can't imagine any homeowner not feeling the same. It was amazing to see our room go from foundation to framing to finishing--everything happened so quickly! In fact, the whole project took about five months, wrapping up with the final inspection an entire month ahead of schedule. We now have a wood-floor master bedroom with a large picture window, an subway-tiled master bathroom with wet room shower/bath combo, a much needed walk-in-closet, and a lovely wood deck patio with a pergola. We absolutely love our new space, and we couldn't be more thankful to Shenon. We've heard from friends and neighbors about construction nightmares, littered with no shows, hard to reach GCs, shoddy workmanship, and unfulfilled follow-ups. Shenon construction is the complete opposite. Tom keeps every promise and provides options for aesthetics and saving money, but never compromises on quality. Adam's care and hard work makes the project smooth and keeps the excitement of building fun and alive. They're just awesome, and we can't recommend them enough. Shenon Construction earns all of their positive reviews and we're so happy we chose them. We only hope we can work with them again!

I have since used them again for another small project of moving power from a wall light to a standard outlet, with patching and painting. He initially did one coat, and I requested that a second be done, and they worked around my schedule and had Jose come back out to paint no problem. Liza was able to provide me with a quote via email, and she responds to emails quickly. I will definitely use them for future projects. I would send emails in the middle of the night and have my answer by the morning (or sometimes in the middle of the night if Liza was up late). I think their prices are higher than just hiring a handyman but as they say, "You get what you pay for." CMRS is licensed, insured, bonded and experienced, things that should really figure into your decision making process. Daryl and his crew (Randy, Edwin and Jose) were all polite, hardworking and professional. Jose does great drywall and is extra tidy. I never met Liza or Gretchen in person but they were both great communicators on the phone and through emails.
