So design designed my master bath, i am very happy with how it's turned out. They worked closely with my budget and assisted me with the materials selection. Shir offered couple options for me to review and helped me realize what I wanted for my master bath with adding a large walking shower. It's was great working with honest trustworthy professionals. I highly recommend them.

She truly goes above and beyond in every sense of the word, and I can't imagine this process without her. From the very beginning, she impressed us with her patience and her ability to really listen to our needs, preferences, and even unspoken concerns. She never rushed us into decisions, and instead provided multiple thoughtful renderings until we felt 100% confident in the direction. She doesn't just design for beauty--she designs for the way a family actually lives. Every idea she presented balanced practicality with elegance, which is exactly what we wanted for our home. One of the qualities I value most is that she's not afraid to give her honest, professional opinion. If something wouldn't work functionally or aesthetically, she told us upfront and explained why--saving us from costly mistakes we might have regretted later. That kind of candor is rare, and it shows how much she genuinely cares about her clients' best interests. She also has an incredible talent for sourcing materials and pieces that look high-end while staying within our budget. Not once did she pressure us into overspending, and yet the end result feels far more luxurious than we thought possible. She has a keen eye for detail, whether it's the perfect lighting fixture, the flow of the floor plan, or just the right paint tone that changes with the light throughout the day. Her project management skills deserve equal praise--she communicates clearly, stays on top of timelines, and coordinates seamlessly with contractors and vendors. Remodeling a whole house can be overwhelming, but she made it organized, smooth, and surprisingly stress-free. Most importantly, she treats your home as if it were her own--pouring thought, creativity, and care into every choice. We now walk through our home in awe that it reflects both our lifestyle and personality so perfectly. If you're looking for an interior designer who is talented, dependable, practical, creative, and genuinely invested in making your vision come to life, look no further than MGU design. She's a true gem, and we feel lucky to have found her.

How'd it turn out? She knocked it out of the park. Her passion and care for the project really showed in the final result. Also, naturally, there were a few hiccups due to other product manufacturers screwing up along the way. Whenever this happened, Mu kicked into gear and saved the day multiple times. She got products replaced that weren't shipped in top condition and made sure every detail was perfect, even down to a tiny last piece of a window blind. I'm so glad I went with her. If you need a quality interior designer, MGU could be perfect for you. She was for this project, and I'm looking forward to MORE. Thanks Mu!

There are unfinished and chipped edges to the cabinets. They installed our refrigerator panel with holes in it that they tried to glue and patch which he tried to blame on other workers and promised he'd replace but never did. They measured the space under the cooktop wrong and made the drawer too short. Instead of making a new drawer to properly fit the space, they just nailed a piece of cabinetry over the space wasting precious kitchen cabinet space. They left the fridge freezer columns with a missing piece of cabinetry. The edges and corners are all chipped which John blamed on the design, but hadn't told me that I'd have chipped edges of choosing this design. In fact, he assured me that all the edges would be perfect and would never peel. Then he said his workers would patch the edges. He never had the workers come. First he said they couldn't come fix these issues bc COVID was peaking. Then he just ghosted me. Really disappointing that he doesn't stand by his work. Most of the positive reviews on this page are from his friends and family.

I was really happy with the finished result and the way the house came together. The kitchen and bathrooms look updated and clean and are actually much more functional after the remodel. Erica and Beth are easy to work with and are good creative partners - lots of ideas for different styles, materials, and finishes. They're both easily available for conversations and the frequent communication made all the difference for me. If anything happens to me, a tenant, or any pets on the property, the police will be contacted again. Hiring Girl Flip Construction with Erica Anenberg for my ADU project was the worst decisions I have ever made in my life! What started as a project with a contract value of roughly $95k and a contingency allowance (Max 114k) eventually ballooned to nearly $150k. By the time taxes, penalties, corrective work, and related expenses were accounted for, the total financial impact was substantially higher. When I attempted to rein her spending, I was repeatedly told the company was losing money on the project and was pressured to approve additional costs. I'm not a contractor but it seems to me... if you're always "in the red" then you either wrote up a bad estimate because you're incompetent or you lied about the estimate from the beginning... or both. At one point I was even encouraged to take out a credit card to cover more than $20k! I ultimately had to liquidate my retirement funds and incurred significant penalties and tax consequences. Throughout the project, her mistakes routinely became additional costs for ME instead of being acknowledged and corrected. Examples included: * Not building to the plans! Everything is off SIGNIFICANTLY * A closet rebuilt too shallow to accommodate standard clothing hangers! * Exterior lighting fixtures not wired into ANYTHING until I repeatedly pushed back. * A major electrical line serving my main house being canceled, leaving portions of my living room without working lights and outlets for 4 months! * BRAND NEW HVAC that ultimately required complete correction after 23 days use by third-party professionals (almost $5k to repair). * Multiple construction and planning mistakes As problems accumulated, communication became VERY difficult. There were repeated disputes over payments, billing, lack of responsibility, and major guilt trips. Eventually I formally prohibited Erica from the property after multiple aggressive incidents, including entering portions of my residence that were not under construction and without permission. Less than two weeks later, she returned anyway, refusing to leave and told me: "Just let me be here for 30 minutes or else I'll put a lien on your house." That statement is documented. She only left once I called the police. Near the end of the project, she sent a release containing a non-disparagement clause and broad waivers of future claims despite unresolved issues with the work to sign. I declined. Why in the world would I agree to waive my right to discuss my experience or release future claims related to defective work? Because of the severity of the issues, I filed a complaint with CSLB. Their investigation found reason to send us to arbitration. The arbitration itself was surreal. I've never seen a party so unprepared for a case involving this much documentation and evidence. At the hearing, they claimed I somehow owed THEM $1,400 because I hired an HVAC company to repair the AC I had already paid them $6k to install and destroyed. When asked to explain the number, they could not. The day before arbitration, they also demanded $3,500 in "expert consultant fees" despite arbitration documents stating EVERYWHERE those costs were not recoverable. Their expert had no involvement with the project at all yet attempted to testify (under oath btw) about conversations he claimed occurred. The arbitrator quickly shut that down. The arbitration hearing was brutal yet satisfying. Their main defense was that I am a horrible person. The arbitrator found substandard workmanship and improperly charged change orders and ordered them to pay me back nearly $13,000. Amazingly, Erica tried to get me to fill out a W-9 before sending me my money back!! Um... WHAT?! I confirmed with both the CSLB and arbitration company that it was unheard of. This was not a payment for services, Erica -- it was a refund for bad work and improper charges. I did not fill out anything. I was also uncomfortable seeing time and energy devoted to social media content during a project that was already experiencing significant delays, cost overruns, workmanship disputes, and unresolved issues. As a customer dealing with those problems in real time, it was frustrating to watch. If you are considering hiring this company: * DON'T!! Hire literally anyone else * Save every text and email. * Review every invoice carefully. * Document EVERYTHING. * Be extremely cautious about change orders. * Install surveillance cameras. She'll claim all of this was all personal - dealing with her personality was truly awful but, the CSLB and Arbitration company found my complaints to be credible. Several times she has tried to get my reviews taken down - nope! Still credible. I have receipts for all of this. How is she licensed?!

But then I decided to procrastinate and mull over the idea of saving the consultation money and just doing it myself.....I used to believe I could handle interior design on my own, buying furniture piece by piece over time and never being satisfied with the results. THANK GOODNESS I decided to invest (actually quite affordable) Because, after two separate consultations with Lucie, my perspective has completely shifted. I will never attempt DIY interior design again--LOL. It truly takes a special eye to understand how dimensions, shapes, colors, and sizes all matter. Since working with Lucie, I've noticed a remarkable difference in the way my house feels and flows. Every piece of furniture she recommended has contributed to the overall alignment and harmony of my space. Lucie is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I can't recommend her enough.
