It also became immediately clear that she really knows her stuff and is also willing to work with your individual needs. We did a virtual tour of the room and then chatted about what we were looking for. She sent out a survey to get a sense of our likes and dislikes and aesthetic. It was super easy. Then, she put together some concept boards, and we refined based on the options. We are absolutely in love with the vision that Rhiannon has. Our home is a 1950s mid-century within a preservation district. It was bought "as is" - "great bones" but worn, tired and with original mechanicals, windows, and doors. No upgrades or replacements had been done by prior owners during their 40+ year tenure. The kitchen and master bedroom needed to be upgraded in major ways. Blend Design LA worked with us to execute a plan to renovate and upgrade in way that was within the preservation district's exterior code (front side of house) requirements, yet modernizing the kitchen and master bedroom enough to make it functional and good for the next half century. Kelly paid particular attention to our desire to restore the woodwork and original look of the living room and bring back the "mid-century" quality that drew us to the house in the first place. Some things we could never have done without them, you ask?: - create a lighting plan in the home that makes sense! - choose lighting fixtures that are timeless yet hip - find the right pillows, rugs, blinds, textures, etc. - CREATE A FUNCTIONAL KITCHEN!! - incorporate custom-built, MOS-designed furniture like no other items in the market - paint the entire interior of our 2-story home in a VERY timely manner - choose paint colors that are also timeless, not just trendy (like my pinterest would have preferred) We look forward to working with the Matters of Space team on all future homes.
