I wasn't sure how I would afford it, but Maria worked with me and made the whole experience feel possible. She was kind, thoughtful, and sweet throughout the process, and I never once felt judged. There were times when payments were difficult because I was going through a long and sometimes tedious process, but Maria was patient and understanding. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her. My bathroom is one of my favorite spots in the house, right alongside the kitchen. I love looking at the wallpaper in my shower--it gives me the spa feeling I've always wanted. One of my favorite moments was being in a meeting with some of my students and having a colleague compliment the beautiful, regal wallpaper behind me. It was the same wallpaper Maria picked out for me! I'm not quite ready to share photos yet--not because I don't love the design, but because I want to get the house a little more put together first. I'm looking forward to sharing more of Maria's beautiful work once I do. I'd absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an interior designer who is talented, thoughtful, and truly supportive.

From our initial consultation through project completion, she demonstrated outstanding design vision, technical precision, and meticulous project management. Maria transformed two critical spaces in our home from old and outdated into highly functional and smartly crafted environments tailored to our aesthetic and our family lifestyle. From our first meeting to project completion, she listened closely to our goals and priorities and created incredible layouts to meet all our needs. She brought innovative solutions to some pretty unique problems, and she finished it all with some expertly curated materials (while keeping a keen eye on budget). Her elevated attention to detail, proactive communication--both between my wife and I and with the contractor and trades--and her ability to keep the project moving forward made the entire renovation process effortless. For anyone seeking a top-tier interior designer who combines artistic sophistication with complete professionalism, we highly recommend Maria.

That was my experience with Scarlett Designs. At first, I was just looking for someone to help me conceptualize a few rooms. I sat down with Sehra and explained what I was hoping to achieve - the look and feel, etc. She listened intently and made sure that she "got it". I've always been of the mindset that you get what you pay for. I could have shopped around for a cheap designer, but that's a lot like going to a hair styling school to get your haircut - you have no idea how it will look when you're done. For my money, I'd much rather get experience and quality. Why compromise on my home? To sum it up, Sehra is a consummate professional. She's got that "eye" for great design and has the experience and connections to back it all up. She really knows her stuff and is worth every penny. I would strongly recommend her services.

I've never worked with someone more organized and prepared! She has a huge binder with all of the info and plans, etc, for our kitchen and living room. I only wish our contractor and architect were as responsible, timely and had the same sense of follow-through! Susie brings a fresh take on design - I don't think anything she does is cookie-cutter, and that's what we wanted. We live in Laurel Canyon, and value originality and not looking like our house belongs in a bland catalog. Susie's design involves little pops of originality, along with very tasteful choices in the style of our house. I wish I could post photos of the finished product but we are still waiting for the contractor to fix some problems with the exterior sheathing currently, before we can install the new kitchen. I also should add, Susie worked with us intently on what would be functional for our family, as well as look great. I never felt like she was sacrificing function in order to look cool. I highly recommend Susie. She really kept us on track and helped us from feeling overwhelmed by all the choices that needed to be made in the design process. My family and I live in an open-concept house and have been struggling with how to make it feel functional and "homey".  The main obstacles were defining living/dining zones, adding storage, and making our short ceilings feel...not so short.  As this was our first experience using a designer, we opted for a consultation (where Susie gives direction/recommendations but we execute). She came to our house for 1.5 hours and brainstormed, shared product recommendations, and even helped us rearrange our existing furniture to a layout that made more sense.  This consultation alone broke some of our mental blocks and enabled us to create a new space using most of what we already own. I will definitely use Susie's other services too as we continue to grow in our house. Susie was easy to talk to, collaborative, and offered creative solutions. I also really appreciate her thoughtfulness when recommending products (i.e. offering ideas that make sense for our life-stage / budget).
