Sadly, I can't recommend JC Penny's. While Penny's has never been a regular shopping destination of…read moremine, I do remember shopping there for school clothes as a kid. And as I got older, they didn't carry the more fashionable clothes I prefer. This year, while doing a search for a faux black leather pants, JC Penny's had a pair online that were more attractive than any other options that came up during the search. They arrived within a few days and were very nice, well made, stylish, but way too long. Like 6 inches too long. 2 alteration places quoted me $50 to hem. Not happening. So I ventured to the store to do a return to avoid paying return postage. Upon entering the store, I wondered if they were closed. There is no one there! Worse, all the previous cashier stations are gone and no associates anywhere to ask for assistance. I wandered through every section of the first floor, past very dated looking clothing, and finally found an associate in the makeup department. She explained that online returns, and all purchases, are handled back by the shoe department. Plus just one other location on 1st floor and one cashier on 2nd floor. Well, I guess if there are so few customers, this makes sense, but it does nothing to contribute to a positive experience to create repeat purchases. Sure enough, I found the cashier, and the few other customers, all perplexed, wondering if this was where they should be paying for their purchases. My return was processed, after 10 minutes of very challenging system issues where they could not locate my order, and with manager assistance, th3 return was completed. I purchased a pair of Sketchers while there. As I made my way to the other end of the store to exit, the alarm went off and I realized they didn't cut off the sensor. So back through the entire store again. Definitely got in my steps, but that wasn't the point of my visit.

I know it says 'mini' in the title, but I assumed it was meaning it came with a 'mini bag with it & the 1 was a normal size backpack. I NEVER would have guessed the "Big" backpack was mini & the 'little' was micro. Very MISLEADING. & we dont have a JC Penny here & they want $8 to return by mail. This is bs. 1st & last time ordering from you. I will just Amazon, Walmart & target my stuff, all of which have free returns

Yikes. Came here to buy some Oregon Ducks gear and a Blazer hoodie I saw someone wearing at the game. Two specific items, and 10 minutes wondering aimlessly to find the items or an employee to help me. They do have a huge assortment of clothing, and in every color of the rainbow, not just basic black. I appreciate that. But I'm not a fan of bigger is better, and prefer shopping at smaller Dick's locations like the one in Lake Oswego. so much easier to find what you need, and get in and out of the store quickly.

His professionalism, kindness, and genuine customer care really stood out. Great service is rare these days, and I'm glad I found it at Dick's Sporting Goods. There was another individual who helped me at the register that was helpful as well. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. I thank both of them for their efforts. P.S I first went to REI and Cascade cycling or something and had a sub par experience and left those stores. That was for you Hyoung, get it?

Genuinely strange vibe here. Yesterday I was in looking for a sleeping bag and a few other items…read more One of the employees, who I imagine was a shift lead, had a child running around the store. Clearly just not a great environment for him and who knows how long he had been there that day, he was very loud and chaotic and just being a kid. I kept hearing the staff member who was the kids caretaker harshly reprimanding him, borderline yelling. I get it's stressful to have to bring a child to work with you but it's not his fault. There were like no customers in the store and it was pretty quiet in there so hearing him being a crazy kid & then this woman loudly reprimanding him was very hard to ignore. I looked at bags for a really long time, and no one offered to help. Many of the hanging bags were missing identifying tags, so I was going back and forth trying to match the samples to the shelved bags for sale. Eventually I pick one, buy it and leave. I go home, open it up and it's just not what I had expected. It was huge, and very heavy. Today I brought it back for a return and had no problem. I went back to the sleeping bags to reassess what was available and that same woman who was yelling at the kid the day before, (who was not the employee to process my return) likely didn't realize I was the person who brought in the return and with a very nasty and annoyed tone she said something about how the sleeping bag policy she be like the air mattress policy - which is that they won't let you return it if you opened it. Her energy was terrible two days in a row, just totally drab and on edge. I maybe would have stuck around and kept looking at other sleeping bag options, probably would have bought a new one if someone stopped leaning on a counter talking shit about other employees to ask if I needed assistance, but instead I left. I didn't want to hear her drone on about how annoying everything is, customers/policies/coworkers alike (major projection) The pink haired woman needs training on customer service Big 5 has an opportunity to get some new regulars with the closing of next adventure - which had inherited many regulars from the outdoor store when that closed a few years back. It would be wise to have employees who are passionate about outdoor gear and the experiences customers have with the gear and in their stores, because that's what keeps people shopping. Reliable return policies are how you get customers to try things out and find what works for them. You retain those customers by showing some effort, curiosity and really helping them. That's how you sell products. Guess I'll be going to REI.

4/30/22 @ 10:32am Store 00233…read more Just came back from Big Dirty 5 No customer service sporting goods!! Wow where to start. Well store opened at 9am my husband and I were literally second customers of the day!! First customer was greeted by Jacob "store manager". We walked in and no greeting seemed like he forgot how to speak or was shocked by our high vibration. First thing I noticed is HOW DIRTY THIS PLACE IS!!!!!! Stuff unorganized and on the floor boxes are opened. Trash everywhere I mean everywhere like they had no vacuum cleaner so they said F it. I got some items asked if I can try them on the girl that was working with the manager was also rude didn't ask if we need help I had to go up to both of them while they were chatting away. I asked to try on the items I found. As she opens the door to the fitting room I was literally like WTF!! Fitting room looked like musicians crashed a hotel see posted photos. Mirror was grimey as heck something broken on the ground a piece of wood idk. Litter on the floor. That whole store was just ewwwwww... as a former manager of retail stores I would never have a store like that or let my employees walk around not doing anything they had so much things they could've been doing. There store needs to get checked up on by DM or a RM. They also should be trained on customer service, attentiveness, knowing products. Will not be coming back to THIS location again!!!!

Every time I come in, the customer service is on-point. They aren't annoying either. There's a fine balance between being helpful and annoying, and they know how to be helpful. They aren't pushy. Yes, they will make suggestions or basically upsell items, but it's not in a pressuring way. I've never felt obligated to buy something they suggest to me. If I like it, cool. If not, I'll say so. I love their pants, and they come in different lengths, which is awesome. Sadly, the short ones are still too long for me most of the time. Yes, I'm a whopping 5 feet tall, so pretty much everything is too long for me. There needs to be a midget length for people like me. Lol. But the cool thing is if you have to have them altered, they give you a $10 credit for it. My other favorite Lucy product is their socks. If I could buy like 50 pairs all at once and just have them as my primary socks, I would so do it. They are just that amazing, comfortable, and breathable. They are thin socks, but manage to be super warm and comfortable. Almost like they were thicker than they are. Which I find interesting, but have no complaints about. Would I return here? Absolutely. I've been coming to this store for over 15 years now, and will absolutely keep coming back. The customer service and products are well worth a trip in here. Review 163 of 2017.

I will admit that about a year ago, I was very confused by the phenomenon of spending more than $20…read moreon a workout top. I always said to myself, "I could get something similar for half the price at Target." However, I started teaching exercise classes, everyone else owned expensive workout wear, and I fell under the spell. I'm glad I did, as I love my new name brand workout wear, and I can definitely feel the difference, especially in the pants. A word of advice, if you're going to be spending lots of money for a single top or a single pair of pants: try them on, and try them on at several stores. Each store uses a slightly different body type for their clothes. For instance, I think lululemon's pants fit me very well, but their tops don't work for me. On the other hand, lucy's tops fit me like a glove. Another word of advice: lucy always has a sale section but if you wait a little bit, they'll have a "30% off everything already on sale" sale! I haven't really been tracking, but my guess is that this happens about once every six weeks. Recently, I spent over an hour in this lucy store, and I probably tried on most of the store. I was helped by a lovely young woman named Kerry, and she was oh-so-helpful. When I walked into the store, she noticed right away that I was wearing a lucy jacket, and then proceeded to walk me through all of their different sports bras, pants, and top options. Once I found a pair of pants that I liked, she probably brought me every single color and pattern that they had in stock. I checked out some sports bras, and I was also pleased that she directed me to their "super sale" section. This store is lovely and has wonderful employees. Tell them all of your requests in workout attire and they'll help you find something that works for you! Also, that lucy jacket that I own? It's the hatha jacket and I get a compliment almost every time I wear it, and I've owned it for almost a year :-)
