While searching for the New Year's typical resolution treadmill I as all set to purchase at Dick's. Online were several models. I wanted the Bowflex T22. The videos online were great for telling the options. I arrived at the store and was happy to see a line of treadmills to check out. The salesman that came over was somewhat knowledgeable of the products. I would give him a 4 star for service. The reason the store doesn't get a 4 star is nothing is in stock. The Bowflex was not in the store on display or in stock. The second option I wanted wasn't in stock at this location and I would have to go to Hillsboro to pick it up. The delivery charge was $199 but there was no discount for having to drive around Oregon due to supply chain issues. I ended up not purchasing the treadmill from Dicks. It was disappointing to come all the way to this store based on our website search to find out they no longer had the product or product availability. However, the young man who offered to assist us was great. He took the time to understand what we were looking for and took the time to walk us through the variety of treadmills they had in stock, allowed us to try them out and took the time to review pros and cons of each product. He was extremely patient and worked with us as we learned about the several brands and price points they had available. We thought we had selected one, but unfortunately they did not have it available at this store. Again, this gentleman took the time to call another store and have them hold the product. hi! i went to the lake oswego/lake grove store today and was able to find Tyr women's swimsuits and jammers. what i did not find was any customer service other than the nice fellow who showed me where to find them. i wanted to try them on and saw people who worked there ... they ignored me. I found the fitting rooms and was obviously waiting but the attendant was more interested in putting away merchandise. finally she came over and i was able to try selections on. (the suits do not have the crotch cloth for sanitary try-on ... eeewwww! will wash the garments asap even though i kept my panties on!) lastly, the check-out person - cooper - could not have been less interested in his job and actually sighed when i wanted to pay for each item individually! because of this i ended up paying in one transaction so as to not stress him out - :) and i later noticed he charged me the wrong prices! now i have the inconvenience of having to return to the store. they have a bunch of great merchandise ... but the staff needs a ton of customer service training! read more

wow what an awful experience and that's an hour plus I'll never have back. so this morning, after wasting an hour driving somewhere and back to a different retailer his website said I they had the item I needed in stock - but didn't. And had employees parking in the handicapped. decided I would be smarter and order online and call ahead. So I go on my browser to the site for this store. Call that store. Get put on hold four times except it doesn't go to hold it just starts ringing again. Finally the fourth time I got a very helpful dude who walked me through the camping heater I needed as well as propane which has to be bought in store the item which could theoretically be shipped. Place my order from that same website go to pick it up. Someone comes out says they don't have the order under that name so I pull it up and I realize it was redirected to another town. Guy who walked out was clearly out in the rain and tells me I have to call the other store to cancel and come into the store to re-order doesn't bother to check if it's something they haven't stock. and just to be clear this was the same number I dialed before which was different than the store I had to dial to cancel. Which I do. go to place the online and they don't have it in stock and apparently never did. If I order it I would still have to go somewhere else for the propane because that can't be delivered so I called back again and I get an actually very nice young woman working the register. And she was clearly a little overwhelmed because it didn't seem like anyone back in the departments was answering. Finally she gets someone and of course the only version they have is $10 more expensive. so I ask if they could credit the difference and confirm that they also have the propane as well. I also wanted them to bring it to the register since I am disabled whoever she was talking to didn't care about. they refuse to make up the difference and so I thanked her for being so nice but did advise her that I would be submitting this review but that I would note her friendliness. I like this store! Over the years I've found some great Nike athletic wear at very reasonable prices, sneakers, and rain gear for walking in those months where rain is the norm. My exercise of choice is swimming, which I do daily, and Dick's is the only place that carries the short swim fins that I like plus a variety of goggles and swim caps. There are some swim items I buy online but there some I absolutely need to see in person to touch and feel, like the swim fins. That's when I come to Dick's. Whenever I've needed assistance, I can easily find a customer service rep to help me. When I want to browse on my own, they let me be. Just how I prefer to shop. Huge parking lot out front conveniently located on Lower Boone's Ferry, with a drive through Starbucks in the same lot, and just down the block from Bridgeport Village. If I want quality clothing, I'll go to REI... just across the freeway. If I want guns-n-ammo, I'll go to Wholesale Sports or Fisherman's Marine. If I want to see sexy mannequins... I'll go to Dick's flagship Washington Square location (just a couple miles down the road). If I want good prices, I'll go anywhere else. I really can't figure out what Dick's Sporting Goods does that is special. Their prices are consistently high, their sales minimal and this location is a ghost town. The store is clean and beautifully laid out, but if you do any sort of cost comparison, you'll be buying elsewhere. Wow! This store is so organized and each department is ON POINT!!! Super helpful, courteous staff! I have never been to a Dicks with better customer service, or any retail store for that matter! Jake, the manager was folding clothes on some display tables, folding them so nicely they looked like they were fake like for a set or something. Evan and Ethan were working in shoes every shoe was in its place, so nice and neat looking. They came right up to me, helped me find exactly what I was looking for and even made some great really helpful recommendations to me. I'm just learning how to ski and I didn't want to go all out on the gear so thought I would check out what Dicks had to offer. We were able to get cool goggles and gloves at a reasonable price. Also the BF has to exchange a ski mask for a thinner one. Kris was so nice and patient. She helped us through the process because we didn't have the receipt so she looked up multiple phone numbers in case they were linked with that account. I'm really not one to leave reviews, especially for large corporations, but Kathryn was the absolute best. About three weeks ago my boyfriend and I came in so he could get some help fixing his driver. He was using the drive simulator and I wanted to give it a go. I was using his driver and was visibly struggling (I'm super new to golf) so I asked Kathryn if I could try out a women's driver and she totally delivered. Not only did she set me up with a beauty of a club, but she spent about 25 minutes giving me a lesson on how to properly position my body for a more accurate, and overall better drive. You could tell how passionate she is about the sport and she took the time to help me thoroughly understand everything she was teaching me. I had never really shopped a Dick's sporting goods before. I guess I'm still mourning the lost of the G. I. Joes or as they were most recently known, Joes. Dick's has a lot of the sports equipment, clothes and overall gear that Joes had, however, they lack some of the auto parts, etc., that made Joes a handy stop. On this Memorial Day weekend we were looking for some street bikes. We already have some mountain bikes that we leave in Bend for our use over there. Now we wanted something for things like paved bike paths in town, etc. After looking at bike shops and REI we realized we needed to go a bit lower on the spectrum. We wanted to stay under the $400 mark. I remember the last bike I bought was under $70 but that was a different time. We found some nice ones for under that and the sales staff in the bike area was quite helpful. He was the only one back there but managed to juggle several customers at once and it worked out well. I just wanted to stay clear of the six year that insisted on riding around the store. Not really room for that. Jared, the bike department worker, said after we rode them a bit bring them back and he would make some adjustments as cables tend to stretch out, etc. Free of charge. Probably akin to contents shifting while in flight, but I digress. A quick trip up to the cash register and we were loading our bikes on our bike rack. Let the riding begin. I'll be back again for undoubtedly for bike accessories. read more

They have decent prices and great selection but their service is terrible.... I've been there about 4 times since moving to Lake Oswego. Never been helped once (except at checkout). Today I needed some help..... I went to sporting goods and waited for over 15 minutes. Some guy finally came to the table but got on the phone. He was on hold.... that I understand. I told him I'd be in the aisle over and would wait for him there while checking out some other things. I got back in 5 minutes and he's gone..... I go looking for him and he's helping other people... then I see him walk all the way over to another section. Thought he might be back soon.... wait another 5 minutes.... finally got sick of waiting... went up to the front and WAIT for the manger. She says she'll help me (or so I thought I heard) Wait some more... she helps an error at the cashier's checkout. Sees me waiting and comes over and tells me she called somebody and they should meet me there. Walk all the way back to the corner and WAIT some more... this time less than 5 minutes. Finally got the help I needed. All in all it took over 30 minutes to get the help i needed.... only if REI carried what I needed.... read more

I went in with my some looking for a double fishing kayak. Logan helped us, along with Todd, and he was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable and personable. They were slammed the day we were in but Logan spent a lot of time working with us talking about buying two single kayaks,a double or a canoe. We came to the decision that a canoe was the right call since it would be easier for us to manage and, as Logan pointed out, make for better quality father and son time. We bought a canoe and everything you need to canoe; paddles, life jackets, anchor, rope, etc. when we went to pick it up again Logan and Todd we fantastic. Helped us get the canoe on the car and helped get it securely fastened. I look forward to seeing Logan and Todd in the future as they are trusted associates who really seem to enjoy their jobs and helping people. read more

True Story. A girl walks into a sporting goods store in search of some cheap range ammo. Not finding any on the shelves, she asks a fresh-faced young man who works there if they carry ammo. Turns out it is locked up behind the counter, so asking his assistance is exactly the right thing to do. After hemming and hawing over cost, caliber, and number of rounds to purchase, she makes her selection, subscribing to the quantity has a quality all its own theory. Without missing a beat, this young man inquires, "Are you sure that's what he wants?" [Insert crickets chirping.] "Excuse me?" she asks, confused. "Are you sure that's the kind of ammo he wants?" "Who is he?" she asks, still confused. But then it dawns on her what he is asking. "This ammo is for me!" she tells him. In his defense, the poor guy turns many shades of pink and red as he scurries to grab the boxes she requested. Given the cost, and that the ammo is locked up, I doubt she will be back. It's far too easy to purchase ammo off the shelves at, well, any other sporting goods store in the entire Portland Metro area. read more

I've spent 4 days tracking down and locating an order that has been sitting on the dock of a 3rd party delivery driver, only to find out that I now have to drive 125 miles in order to pick up the order that was supposed to be here yesterday. Order #10327198425. Dicks is stating that because the phone number on record wasn't correct, they couldn't delivery the package, even though Dick's corrected the phone number without contacting me, meaning THEY HAD THE CORRECT PHONE NUMBER THE ENTIRE TIME. Why is a phone number needed in order to deliver a package anyhow? I spent over hours dealing with this, and dicks offered me a 10% discount. read more

Now you can stop for some mexican food and walk across the road and checkout the selection of long guns and knives at this Dick's location right off I-5 at the Bridgeport exit. It's lookin a lot like Dick's is pickin up where GI Joes left off. The prices are not bad (when they are having a sale) and the selection is good for just about anyone. They carry gun safes, but it might be best to shop around a little first before buying one here. If your lookin for sports wear, Dick's has a pretty darn good selection too. They carry Columbia brand (Oregon business) outdoor clothing almost a necessity here in the valley. Nice thing about chain stores, you can pretty much count on them carryin the same stuff at the same price no matter where your at. read more
