I was just looking up the phone number to call Dance Togs and noticed it was 6:02, they closed at 6 but thought I would try anyway. They answered the phone! And not just did she answer the phone, she remembered me being in the store a couple of hours ago, and remembered the exact shoes I bought. I was calling because my daughter needs a half size down and so she took down my name, phone and is rush ordering the correct size so my daughter has them for her performance. Terrible service. Employee was rude and took no accountability for the mistake the store made with an order I placed - and had to come back twice to fix, but still wasn't fixed. She simply brushed it off and told me I was stuck with the wrong item. Did not offer any sort of remedy. I will never shop here again. read more

Dance Togs is easy to find, plenty of parking, and a huge selection of excellent quality products. We drive up from Salem and it's more than worth the trek every few months. When you're fitted for Pointe shoes, it's truly a treasured experience. It's clear that a proper fitting is made with decades of expertise and knowledge by their staff. I have a true appreciation for their knowledge, and all the care they put into making sure that dancers are absolutely fitted with the best shoes. True professionals. read more

I signed up my daughter for her first ballet/tap class and was unsure on sizing online so LUCKILY this place and came up when googling dance shoes. I've gone in 2x once for tap shoes and another for ballet. The woman and man that helped me each time were more than accommodating and made my child smile while getting her new shoes on. I haven't done ballet in 20 years and was excited to dance again. I went to Dance Togs when I was little so I was excited to return as an adult. The worker found shoes for me, but I very disappointed because I found her unhelpful. Although she asked about the fit of the shoes, I was uncertain and she didn't seem to care. Then when I went to pay I had to ask for ribbon--you would think she would try to upsell me on it. After I went home and tried them on and compared them to my old shoes, I could definitely tell the fit was bad so I returned them. Also, I was surprised that they still hand write their receipts, so check-out is slow. read more

My daughter needed special shoes for the play she was cast in for High School. We went to Dance Togs since it was the only place that carried them. We were welcome into the store and was helped right away. She helped us find the right size and even let us know that we were eligible for a 10% discount since it was or a HS play. Extra bonus!!!!! I don't recommend this business. First time there this summer we were followed around by staff even though I left the stroller by the register- they made us feel as though we were under a microscope. Today I went back looking for an accent shirt for my toddler, the lady rolled her eyes and seemed bothered when I asked for help. Never going back again read more

It is co-owned and one of the co-owners also owns Beaverton Dance Center (BDC), I go to BDC and whenever I need new shoes for dance I can just go to Dance Togs and buy some. So, if you want to start dance I suggest signing up for a class at BDC, then getting shoes at Dance Togs! read more

Absolutely rude and disturbing experience. I went to Dance Togs recently to buy dance items for my daughters. One of the staff rolled her eyes and gave me this obnoxious rolls-her-eyeballs-into-her-upper-lid-while-nervously-eyelash-batting-business as I asked how she her day was going. After the crazy eye-twitching sales clerk fit my daughter in jazz shoes, she left us to browse the store. Then things got unexplainable rude. As we came out of the fitting room, I noticed a giant table full of jazz shoes on sale. Who doesn't love a great sale?!? Well, after I found a similar pair of jazz shoes on sale, I switched out the full priced one for the one on sale. Eye-fluttering lady (turns out to be Gina's daughter) rolled her eyes as I went to pay. To top this all off, Gina jumps in and verbally gets upset that I wanted to buy a sale-priced item over a full priced dance shoes. If it wasn't for Sheryl who nicely treated us as the CUSTOMERS in which we are, I would have walked out of there. Gina and her daughter will ruin the owner's business with their horrible customer service and manners. Absolutely would not recommend this place. We got ballet shoes there a few days before Christmas. After Christmas break I wore them to my ballet class and the elastic from the shoe came undone. Today I went there to tell them about what happened and to get my money back on it. They said they couldn't because the bottom of the shoe was dirty. The bottom wasn't even that dirty and I only wore them once, but I don't think they believed us . They had some black stuff on them cause we have a new floor and it's black. They should have just sucked it up and take it because it was a defected product and it wasn't that much but still a lot to us. We are gotta contact the ballet shoe company, but my mom and I are still mad at Dance Togs. We spend so much money there and they didn't have good customer service. I'm also mad that they didn't have good shoes that fit me. I have narrow and long feet which can be hard to find shoes that fit. They were almost sold out of everything which surprised me. They should have been more nicer and understanding. I think it was the store owner, if it was she was scary, I didn't want to be around her. read more

This is a very special place. My daughter is a dancer and the minute she walks in the door they make her del like a prima ballerina. Getting fitted for point shoes makes it clear that they have a high degree of expertise. Don't go if you are on a schedule, they take their time to get it right. read more

It seems like an okay place to buy dance necessities: the location is very convenient for those of us not close to Portland, but they definitely cater more towards the younger dancer. I came in with a question, and the ladies at the counter seemed very put-upon and reluctant to help - not sure if it was just an off day for them or not. Was planning on purchasing the item, but decided to go to The Leotard instead, since their pricing is a little cheaper for the other items I wanted to get, and I've received consistently good service from them. Hope to try Dance Togs again, and maybe I'll catch them on a better day. read more

Do not go here if you are coming into dance at a later age (I'm looking at late teens/adults) as a beginner. I've come to DT many times out of the sake of convenience and every time I go in its a very stressful experience (Not exactly what one needs when trying to get ready for the beginning of the dance year), where they seemed very put upon, reluctant to help, and quite judgmental of not only me, but some other dancers I train with. I've seen their customer service dramatically increase when shoppers who are young/petite or both come in to shop rather than anyone else, and that right off the bat soured me to this particular store. If you're an adult beginner or coming into the amazing world of dance as a teen like I did, do not go here. The Leotard downtown is AMAZING and their staff is so supportive. If you must stay in the Beaverton/Tigard area, go to Portland Dancewear by Washington Square. Don't give your money to people who roll their eyes at your journey as a developing artist. read more

This is the store for serious dancers. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Pointe fitting takes a long time because they are VERY fussy about fit. I think it's worth it because my daughter's feet are worth protecting as much as possible. But be prepared to be patient and if possible make an appointment. Don't expect to walk in on a Saturday and get shoes quickly. It's an old-fashioned store, they don't pounce as you walk in the door, they don't hover over you or try to upsell and push things, they chat, they handwrite their receipts. For pointe shoes this is the best place we've tried in Portland and we go back often. Sure, I could buy pointe shoes cheaper on the internet, but here the five pairs I buy at a time ALL fit because they are ALL checked on her feet. I don't want a crippled daughter. read more
