My little girl is doing ballet for the first time! I timidly entered but walked out confident with everything she needed! She even suggested going up in size for the shoes to grow into them plus they're extremely comfortable for the true novice wearing a whole new style of wardrobe. Fair prices with budget friendly options as well as "designer" level options. She is happy to sell either!!! I felt no pressure to buy the more expensive options but I did splurge on the leotard since we weren't getting a skirted leotard. While I was there I also noticed there's so much more than ballet apparel and accessories but also other dance apparel/shoes/care equipment for the young and old. There are changing rooms to try on before you buy. Parking suggestion...don't try to park on Broadway, go behind the building and park there...there's wheelchair parking if needed too. They have a street entrance as well as the back parking lot entrance. I highly recommend and love not fighting Portland traffic or having to shop multiple stores to find all the pieces to the perfect ballet outfit! read more

As the mom of a 16-year-old very serious ballerina, I have to say this store REALLY makes my life a lot easier. I no longer have to drive to Portland every 4-6 weeks for pointe shoes! It's SO NICE to have a fully-stocked, high-quality dance store right here in Salem! Besides pointe shoes, Karol also has a good supply of the jazz shoes, ballet slippers, and accessories that my daughter needs. And she has GREAT TASTE in leotards, so beware: if you take your daughter with you to get shoes, you may end up buying a beautiful leotard you hadn't intended to buy. I usually do. Karol is also very helpful and knowledgeable about things like pointe shoe fitting and the dress codes at various studios in town. She'll even tell my daughter whether anyone at HER studio has purchased a particular leotard style yet, so we don't have any mortifying moments where two girls show up in the same new leotard on the same day. The back fitting area is roomy and comfortable and you can tell that they understand that some kids are going to need to try on every single leotard and parents are much happier waiting that long in a comfy space!
