I called this past Friday and Saturday with a very specific issue regarding a discontinued New Balance style I was hoping to find. Isak was gracious, friendly, and his knowledge of shoes is clearly extensive. When we realized the style was discontinued, he didn't stop there--he went the extra mile to check the main warehouse for any remaining stock. Although they were unavailable, Isak spent a significant amount of time discussing numerous comparable alternatives with me. What impressed me most was that even when it became clear I wouldn't be making a purchase that day, Isak remained incredibly kind and patient. Additionally, Isak suggested contacting their flagship store, Gimre's, which is right in my hometown of Astoria, saving me the long trip from the coast to Tigard. Isak displayed a level of integrity and professionalism that is rare to find. I am deeply appreciative of his expertise and will definitely be returning to this location in the future!

Super knowledgeable about New Balance and shoes overall and he helped me pick out my first pair of New Balance shoes. I'll be back for the black 990s!

However, THEY DO NOT HONOR THE PRICING LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE. When I noticed they'd charged me 20%-ish more than what was listed on their site, which was already more than what the standard price was at other ballet stores, I walked back in the store to let them know. The saleswoman ignored me while chatting with another associate about what they were going to order for lunch. When she turned her attention to me and I shared that I'd been charged more than what was listed, she unapologetically told me that the online pricing includes shipping and therefore is listed as less since the shipping adds to the cost of the purchase. I've never experienced this with another business and found the response disappointing.

She openly talked down to her employee over questions about sizing and pricing, which was uncomfortable to witness. When she took over, I learned that customers aren't allowed to browse or try on shoes without her supervision. The experience quickly became tense. Every question seemed to annoy her, and I couldn't wait to leave. The shoes are exceptional--the best I've seen in person--but the atmosphere was so unpleasant that I was relieved to escape when another customer arrived. I may try another location next time I'm in Oregon, hoping for a warmer experience. If you go, go for the shoes--and bring a thick skin.
