The salesperson who helped us was condescending and dismissive. Very little assistance in helping the bride and groom look at options. I had to step in to request the groom, groomsmen and fathers could try on sample jackets to see what fit best. We also asked about purchasing suits versus renting, as that is an option they apparently offer but she didn't seem interested in making a sale. As a side note, our next stop was Men's Warehouse in Keizer. The gentlemen who helped us was Ethan, he was awesome; calm but very attentive and informational. In the end, we rented (2) full suits for the dads, and purchased (5) suits for the Groom and Groomsmen. Total sale to Men's Warehouse was almost $4,000...Mr. Formal $0 and a blunt review to warn other. My daughter did call and speak with the manager, Holly, who didn't seem to care either. read more

I've been here twice both times to get Texido's for weddings. The last time I was there they provided excellent service make sure that everything fit correctly. Unfortunately my jacket and pants came back and did not fit properly but they are able to expedite my order and get them in time for the wedding. And even provided me with a discount. Generally, I follow the, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything," rule, but because this is a business in my community, and their services are not cheap, I felt I should leave a review. My son and I went to Mr. Formal to pick out his tux a week ago. The young woman who helped us was kind, and explained what came with the cost of the tux. (There was an older woman working there, the manager, but she spent very little time on the showroom floor.). After selecting the tux, shirt, shoes, vest, tie, and handkerchief, we put our deposit down and waited for them to call. Yesterday, they called to say the tux was ready. After waiting for ten minutes for the manager to finish a call, and another ten minutes for her to wait in another customer, we were shown the tux. The vest, tie and handkerchief were the wrong color. Not just a slight difference, but completely wrong. (We chose navy blue, and got sky blue.) We told the manager; she said that she had new people working for her, and she would correct the mistake. We showed her what we originally wanted for the tie and the vest, and she exclaimed, "Oh, no!" telling us that we couldn't have that combination because they wouldn't go together. (?!) Additionally, she told us that we couldn't even get the tie in the color we originally ordered, so we had to pick a completely new tie, vest, and handkerchief. We were then told we should pick it up the next day (the day of the prom). When we got there, the store was packed to the rafters; it became obvious that many other students were picking up their tuxedos. After waiting about a half an hour, we checked the tux, paid, and left. When we got home, we discovered that the straight tie my son got wasn't even a full-tie--it was akin to a clip on, but a bit more complicated. This bothered my son because he didn't want to wear a common Windsor or Half Windsor knot; he wanted something unique. Unfortunately, they don't even have complete straight ties, and because they are pre-knotted, there was no changing it. This information was not given to us when we were picking out the tux on either visit. Had we known it, we would have gone elsewhere to get a tie. The problems we had were definitely not worth the price we paid. Although the sales girl that helped us was nice, apparently she didn't know what she was doing, and because the manager wasn't there to help her, we ended up with their mistake. Not only that, there was barely an apology from the manager. And the slap in the face came when the manager told us that we couldn't have what we, the customers, wanted because SHE didn't like the combination. I do NOT recommend this store. *One more thing: they have a small waiting area with two chairs and a table that had magazines on it. What were the magazines filled with? Pictures and advertisements for bridal gowns. Yep. BRIDAL gowns in a tuxedo rental store. There wasn't even a single one for tuxedos! What an oddball and unfortunate experience. read more

A few weeks back we returned six tuxedos after our wedding, and the customer service was sub par. No smiles, no thank you, no one asked how the wedding was. With the exception of one female employee (the cute pregnant one was very helpful the day before), all of the girls working had zero customer service skills and must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Sad story. I was wandering around their tiny display room for a good 15 minutes while the young lady at the counter fiddled with papers. Since no one offered me help I walked up to the counter for help but then the girl walked away saying she would be right back. An older lady came out from the back room and goes straight to the computer. I cornered her with questions about groomsmen outfits for my wedding. I was looking for a particular style and this new older lady said they don't carry what I'm looking for because it is older and less popular. I pointed out the exact item I was looking for on her display mannequin and asked if it was available for order. She acted completely inconvenienced and walked away to greet someone from the door. I just walked past her on the way out and she said to have a nice day. The whole this sucked. I received absolutely no customer service the whole 25 minutes I was in their shop. I need an outfit for the groom, our groomsmen and groomsmen gifts but I could not get the time of day from these women! read more

Rented for use on Saturday, was charged a 25 dollar fee for not returning it the very next day..on a Sunday..received a text at the end of the day when it was too late for us to return it. Came here with a client to possibly rent a Tux for Prom. We had a $70 coupon and even with the coupon the Tux came out to nearly $300 after all the fees and everything, WAY too expensive and we tried to get the cheapest things we could find too. We ended up just buying some nice slacks, shirt, tie and shoes for $80 at the nearby discount stores. But what was great about the store was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful while we tried out things and talked about what we wanted/needed. They are what made the trip great even though we didn't end up renting from them. My teenage son & I came here a couple weeks ago to rent a tux for Prom. We stated from the beginning that we have never rented a tux before, so we needed help and wanted to see the least expensive options. We were directed to a couple displays, and shown many different options for color choices for ties and vests, and spending time making our choices, we were told that what we chose would be in the $200-$300 range. Surprised by the price, I asked if there were less expensive options, only to be spoken to rudely by the female (manager?) working there. She quickly pointed to a different display with lower priced options, but then didn't explain to us if we had any choices. I reminded them again that we have never rented a tux before, so we needed assistance, but she acted as though she couldn't be bothered by our questions. We finally got the tux ordered, but were never explained how we'd be notified when the tux was delivered to the store. My son received a text saying his tux was ready for a fitting, so we arrived today expecting to have him try the tux on in the store. However, we were just handed the tux and told to go home, try it on as soon as possible, and let them know if changes needed to be made. I asked if we could try it on in the store, so we wouldn't have to drive all the way home, then back again if it didn't fit and the woman said to me "You'd have to drive ALL the way back here anyway if you need to make changes" and rolled her eyes. I said again that I was just asking if we could try the tux on in the store, and she said yes, but looked as though that was a really stupid question. She said "We are doing express fittings right now", so I told her that I didn't know what that meant and that's why I had the question. My son wasn't offered ANY assistance while trying it on, and when when he asked if his pants looked too big, the people working in the store ignored him and didn't offer any help. Thankfully the suit fit, and we left without needing to make any changes. They definitely need to work on their customer service. read more
