I went to Kohl's for an Amazon return with the intention of looking for towels afterward…read more What happened? Their inventory is scarce to say the least. The area leading to the registers is so picked over. The linen section was similar, with more empty space than full. Prices are difficult to find, if you do find something you want. And everything was in disarray. There was no store pride evident at all. I did have a very nice interaction with the cashier that accepted my return. Perhaps she was the same person mentioned in an earlier review, but my experience was much different. I have hope that Kohl's can turn it around and once again become one of my favorite places to shop.

(#1) As a result, I've rarely met TJ I didn't like, which includes this location next to Willamette Center. At one point TJ Maxx was in downtown Salem, but now this is the only one left in the city. Like many of the businesses in the same lot, it looks and feels new. However, unlike those businesses, TJ Maxx actually has a steady flow of people going in and out. There's no doubt, it's a popular store. (#2) Parking isn't an issue with so many open spaces and it's an easy place to be. Of the few times I've been, I feel this TJ's was solid inventory wise. I found a good amount of clothing for men's and was able to find a gift or two in the kitchen + home decor areas. I also scored a charger for my rental car and almost bit on some of their limited Oregon Ducks gear. No dice on the shoes (#3) but they do have some sizes in the 14-15 range. Service overall seems okay. They're good about letting folks use the restrooms (which were super clean) and keeping the changing rooms tidy. The cashiers are strangely a little slow and sometimes line form as a result. Given how often I'm in Salem, I'm certain I'll be back again. __________ (#1) Ok, not really. But the thrill of a good deal has never been more appreciated during these last two pandemic-laden years. (#2) And has more visitors than the mall itself. (#3) The plight of having large feet.

Good quality, not cheap, very very very friendly and helpful staff (which in this day and age is what I hope defines Western and sets any place apart from the poor excuse for hired-help we see everywhere else, but I digress). So, even if you don't need a snappy western dress shirt or a custom-fit Cowboy hat, it's worth stopping here for a poke-around and a peek at history in the making.

From the moment I walked in, she was warm, welcoming, and so attentive to every detail. She made the entire experience feel effortless and actually fun--which is rare when formalwear is involved! Natalee has an incredible eye for style and was able to find exactly what I was envisioning (even when I didn't quite know how to explain it). She was patient, professional, and made me feel like I was her top priority the entire time. It's clear that Natalee truly cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. Thanks to her, I walked out feeling confident, well-dressed, and genuinely taken care of. If you're going to Mr. Formal, ask for Natalee--you'll be in the best hands!

As a side note, our next stop was Men's Warehouse in Keizer. The gentlemen who helped us was Ethan, he was awesome; calm but very attentive and informational. In the end, we rented (2) full suits for the dads, and purchased (5) suits for the Groom and Groomsmen.
