The downside was that when I went back y wife wound up buying two pairs of shoes, including a Blundstone model that I'd never heard of after wearing them for over thirty years. Extremely impressive stock of styles. And the service was first rate.

From expert advice on shoes, to rad locally-made gear, fun weekly run meetups, and well-executed yearly races, Foot Traffic does it all so well. Their customer service is also second-to-none and I appreciate not only their flexibility on returns and exchanges, but also their dividend program that gives back when you shop there. Which was no surprise at all, size 14s are hard to find on store shelves, but it was a surprise when they couldn't order Triumphs at all. I really wanted the same shoe again so Jesse the store manager went the extra mile and got in touch with the supplier only to find out that their was an issue in the manufacturing of that particular shoe for the time being. So, he found me two other pairs, a Brooks with similar off-set, and another pair of Sauconys with less off-set and more 'spring' to them. He ordered one pair and transferred (from the downtown location) the other, both in size 14. They arrived a few days later, I get the call and come in. Upon trying them on we quickly realize I need to be running in size 15's. So he orders the same two pairs for me this time one size up. The Brooks arrived first. I got a call, came in and met Jed (I think that's his name) I tried them on around the store, felt good. The Toebox felt a bit big though. Jed explained how that extra 'freedom' up front (my words) could lead to some horizontal movement and therefor friction on the bottom of my foot and the shoe. I was eager to run though. He said go, take 'em for a spin, you can bring 'em back muddy, whatever, just try 'em out. So I did. That night went for a quick 4 miler, they felt good, but he was right, too much play up front. The next day the other Sauconys came in in size 15. Try'd them on, felt awesome. They let me return the lightly used Brooks, and I'm super satisfied with these. Only 20 miles so far, but they are perfect. Big thank you the Jesse and Jed. Amazing Service.

The last couple times, they've been at the newer location, a much needed expansion and great store. Both times I've been assisted by Alex. At most stores these days, rather than an associate offering to help you, it seems like you have to snag an associate. Then, it takes them a while to find the shoes you want to try. They bring out a stack of boxes, and leave you to figure it all out. Not Alex. He's fantastic, actually helping you get into the shoes, quickly bringing out a better size, a different color. He gave advice and patiently brought out boxes. Both the store selection and the employees are exceptional.

It's pretty rare that I get a pass -- usually it's through my 107ist membership -- so I end up going maybe once a year, if that. On the plus side, there's plenty of parking and the store itself is clean and well organized. The clothing selection is definitely trendy... maybe too trendy. It feels geared more toward teenagers and young adults. I've visited a few times now and honestly haven't found any apparel that interests me. A lot of it comes off as flashy. I was hoping to see more outfits tied to big events like the Winter Olympics or the World Cup, but while they did have a few jackets and pants, they were pretty boring overall. The real draw here is the shoes. About half the store is dedicated to footwear, and there are some really nice options. Most shoes are around 40% off, with the non-discounted pairs clearly marked. Prices on display shoes usually range from about $145-$220, so you can do the math to decide if it's worth it. Even with discounts, many pairs still start around $80 and go up from there. Clothing, on the other hand, still felt overpriced even after the employee store markdowns. I've been here three times now and still haven't bought a single thing. In comparison, I've purchased multiple items at other brand employee stores. That said, if you're already planning to buy Nike shoes, this can definitely be a solid deal. One standout positive: the employees have always been very friendly and helpful.

I was here for the Sketchers and they have a larger selection than most department stores. I have to try on shoes because I need arch support and a wide toe bed, so ordering online isn't an option unless I am ordering a repeat of an existing shoe. Spent a good 45 minutes going up and down the aisles, trying on shoes, putting them back. It was a bit exhausting since this is a do it yourself shopping experience and I felt badly leaving a dozen boxes of shoes on the bench. Wish I had left a popcorn trail cause I spent so much time trying to put them back or find them to try a different size! It's a bit overwhelming. Left with a pair of black slip on Sketcher sandals and AdidasCloud sneakers in baby blue, a total random purchase, after checking online to make sure the prices were the best. I highly recommend doing this as some of the models I could buy through Amazon or Zappos for less. Was very happy with my purchases and have since been to other Famous Footwear locations.

I drove over from Lake Oswego after my shift and was bummed to discover that they closed @ 7pm...I had about 30 minutes to look around. I tried a couple pairs of the Sketchers slip on walking shoes. No matter how hard I try, I just can't like 'em. The 10 1/2 (actual size) feel like my feet are swimming in them and the 10 feel like my feet are being strangled. After a bit I realized i really don't need another pair after all. I have a pair of Altra hiking shoes and they would suffice for walking. So I guess I didn't actually need what i thought I did...imagine that.

I stopped in in hopes of purchasing a pair of Books Glycerin 20s, but they didn't have them. I was immediately greeted as soon as I entered, and the knowledgeable employee knew their inventory well enough to know that they didn't have what I wanted when I asked. She wisely advised that if I've worn those with favorable results, it is probably best to stick with them, and offered to order them for me. Since I needed them sooner than they'd arrive, I opted not to order them. The store is clean, well-stocked, and has a great selection. Prices are very reasonable, and are on par with all others that I've shopped. There is also plenty of parking. I'm looking forward to my next visit if I decide to try a different shoe.
