First time here and the dessert was good. While there were a lot of dessert wines to choose from, there were sadly no holiday drinks that paired well with the desserts. I was a little disappointed but the goat cheese was really nice and smooth! Not too sweet. May come back again and try something else. Good place to come for dessert.

I'm writing this review a few weeks later, but I had to share my experience. My husband surprised me on my birthday by taking me to this spot. To be honest, I had not heard of this place so I was excited to try somewhere new. We went at the most perfect time because parking was readily available and we were set as soon as we enter the establishment. The bartender was very nice and provided some great recommendations. Unfortunately, they were out of some of the desserts, but the lemon bars we try were so good. Our other food was great and so were the drink drinks. I would definitely come back to the spot.

What a cute little spot for desserts! We visited after dinner and walked in to very pleasing atmosphere. We had great service and they were very attentive. I had the Biscoff cheesecake which was really good and a big portion size... definitely took leftovers. The mister had the peanut butter pie which I'm not a peanut butter fan to try but he really enjoyed it. They mention the food is imported from vendors such as Ivory's and Rusty's Barbeque. A nice addition to the Birmingham area!

I am really glad there is finally a spot to grab a sweet treat at night! It is something that is needed in Birmingham. I got the cookies this time which were good, but I would probably get something else. They tasted warmed up rather than homemade. Do not expect items to be fresh out of the oven, as they bring in desserts from local places. While I may go back if I crave a sweet treat late at night, I do not think I would go back when I am craving a spectacular dessert. Also, the service was good, but nothing amazing. Since this is a bar and has dim lighting, I do not think it would be the best place for kids.

The restaurant is known to be a dessert bar. There aren't many options for desserts. I like the fact that they try to incorporate local businesses for desserts. I wish there were more options. The drinks were mediocre. The restaurant is pretty large and has a lot of potential if the lighting and ambiance was changed to a more moody, "nightcap" feel

I went to Nightcap for the second time recently and I was very disappointed. I first visited a month or so after they opened and I was not too impressed by the experience but I wanted to give it another try. I really like the idea of a dessert bar so close to other nice restaurants I like to go to however the experience was lackluster both times. Firstly, the atmosphere throws me off. I feel like a dessert bar should be cozy, intimate and comfortable--similar to a speakeasy. The decor and seating in Nightcap is bright and leaves you feeling exposed which is the opposite of the vibe I'm looking for at a dessert bar. Secondly, the desserts are not good and very expensive. I would gladly pay $12-15 for a nice dessert but what they are currently serving is closer to a grocery store offering than a nice restaurant. Considering that is what their bar is centered around, I don't think it's acceptable to serve subpar desserts. The first time I went, they did have better offerings for desserts but this go around all they had were pies and a cheesecake which I understand are likely easy to keep on hand and thaw from frozen but nothing we had was worth the price. It seems like their old desserts could have come from a local baker but their current offerings have definitely gone down hill. I've also tried several of their dessert drinks and I've never finished one of them. They are all very syrup heavy and taste fake. I will say the service has always been good but it's also never been busy and I've only gone on the weekend. I really want to like this bar but it just falls flat.

SUCH a cool place!! We went the first weekend they opened and had a blast. If they were working out any kinks you could not tell. We sat at the bar and had fun with the bartender. The drinks are STRONG! I don't remember what my husband had but it had a ton of rum. I had the Hanky Spanky. For dessert we had the key lime pie and goat cheese cheese cake. Both were excellent. I can't wait to go back!!

I'm diabetic so I don't use sugar and truvia is just nasty. It tastes horrible and makes your drink taste horrible. Now mind you they will use all kinds of syrups with dyes and additives and sugars but nope not Splenda. That's bad for you. The 50 grams of sugar in a single vanilla latte is totally fine. We're ok with that even though that alone is over the recommended amount. But Splenda no we can't allow that. Will never be back.

I was specifically super excited to try their seasonal matcha special, which was made with horchata (also from Salud!) and strawberries, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, we walked in only to find they were out of the supplies needed to make the drink. :( I was caught off guard and didn't know what to order, but the barista recommended a latte with maple flavor so I went with that. The interior was clean and spacious and had a relaxed and calm but energetic feeling to it. Good place to hang out or work quietly. There's a self-service area to spruce up or fix your drink or grab lids or stir sticks. Service was nice and my drink came out quickly. It was pretty good but not really the "right" drink for me. I like my stuff on the sweet side and this was much more balanced and coffee-forward. That said, it held its own against my sugar-craving taste buds and I drank most of it, which is usually the hallmark of good brew, lol. I don't really blame them because I blanked on what to order and just went with what was suggested. It's probably a great suggestion for lots of other folks! Would be happy to come back and try a different beverage. Seems like a nice place overall. :)

The shop may be small, but it has a cozy, welcoming feel that makes it a comfortable place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Even though it's located in the lobby of a building, the décor gives it plenty of character and makes the space feel warm rather than temporary. I could easily see myself coming here to get some work done or simply relax for a while. I decided to try one of their seasonal drinks, the Berry & Bee Latte. While it wasn't quite my favorite flavor combination, the espresso itself was well made, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try another drink from the menu. Sometimes a seasonal special just comes down to personal preference, and this one wasn't quite for me. The standout of my visit was the chorizo, egg, and cheese empanada. It was absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of my order. There's a short wait for the empanadas, but that's because they're warmed fresh after you order, and it's well worth it. I'd gladly wait a few extra minutes for something served hot and fresh. The only area where I think the experience could be improved is staffing. During my visit, the barista had to step away from the counter several times, which left me waiting a few minutes before I could order. Having a second employee available during busier times would likely make the flow much smoother and improve the overall customer experience. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely stop by again. The comfortable atmosphere, quality coffee, and outstanding empanada make Daily Buzz Coffee worth a return trip, and I'm looking forward to trying a different latte on my next visit.
