I'm writing this review a few weeks later, but I had to share my experience. My husband surprised me on my birthday by taking me to this spot. To be honest, I had not heard of this place so I was excited to try somewhere new. We went at the most perfect time because parking was readily available and we were set as soon as we enter the establishment. The bartender was very nice and provided some great recommendations. Unfortunately, they were out of some of the desserts, but the lemon bars we try were so good. Our other food was great and so were the drink drinks. I would definitely come back to the spot.

What a cute little spot for desserts! We visited after dinner and walked in to very pleasing atmosphere. We had great service and they were very attentive. I had the Biscoff cheesecake which was really good and a big portion size... definitely took leftovers. The mister had the peanut butter pie which I'm not a peanut butter fan to try but he really enjoyed it. They mention the food is imported from vendors such as Ivory's and Rusty's Barbeque. A nice addition to the Birmingham area!

I am really glad there is finally a spot to grab a sweet treat at night! It is something that is needed in Birmingham. I got the cookies this time which were good, but I would probably get something else. They tasted warmed up rather than homemade. Do not expect items to be fresh out of the oven, as they bring in desserts from local places. While I may go back if I crave a sweet treat late at night, I do not think I would go back when I am craving a spectacular dessert. Also, the service was good, but nothing amazing. Since this is a bar and has dim lighting, I do not think it would be the best place for kids.

The restaurant is known to be a dessert bar. There aren't many options for desserts. I like the fact that they try to incorporate local businesses for desserts. I wish there were more options. The drinks were mediocre. The restaurant is pretty large and has a lot of potential if the lighting and ambiance was changed to a more moody, "nightcap" feel

SUCH a cool place!! We went the first weekend they opened and had a blast. If they were working out any kinks you could not tell. We sat at the bar and had fun with the bartender. The drinks are STRONG! I don't remember what my husband had but it had a ton of rum. I had the Hanky Spanky. For dessert we had the key lime pie and goat cheese cheese cake. Both were excellent. I can't wait to go back!!

I came here to catch up with a great friend from high school! The space is the old Revelator Coffee…read moreshop (RIP, what happened to them?) but certainly lives up to their predecessor! The vibe here is different from the one out in Cahaba Heights, much more industrial chic. I'm on a quest to try every single local coffee shop in Birmingham, and I am never disappointed. I ordered from their special winter menu the iced minty matcha, which was fantastic. The mint was not too overpowering, super tasty. This is such a great spot! Definitely a more social coffee shop, from what I gathered on this Saturday morning. I always dread parking down here and then never have trouble. It's right across from the Alabama Theatre, so if there's nothing going on there, street parking is a breeze.

I was specifically super excited to try their seasonal matcha special, which was made with horchata (also from Salud!) and strawberries, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, we walked in only to find they were out of the supplies needed to make the drink. :( I was caught off guard and didn't know what to order, but the barista recommended a latte with maple flavor so I went with that. The interior was clean and spacious and had a relaxed and calm but energetic feeling to it. Good place to hang out or work quietly. There's a self-service area to spruce up or fix your drink or grab lids or stir sticks. Service was nice and my drink came out quickly. It was pretty good but not really the "right" drink for me. I like my stuff on the sweet side and this was much more balanced and coffee-forward. That said, it held its own against my sugar-craving taste buds and I drank most of it, which is usually the hallmark of good brew, lol. I don't really blame them because I blanked on what to order and just went with what was suggested. It's probably a great suggestion for lots of other folks! Would be happy to come back and try a different beverage. Seems like a nice place overall. :)

(They only offer milk based milk options) The coffee itself had a good taste I do think I would have preferred just a regular iced coffee with the flavor but I know that for next time. I did enjoy being able to look at the offerings of the connected store (Basic.) they had many unique things for sell including clothing, shoes and various books. Tyler was great with helping make my selection of drink and I loved how patient he was with assisting on the order. The feel of the space was very comfortable and welcoming to creatives. I love the location and how it is in walking distance to so many things. Thankfully I was able to find a parking spot across the street and didn't have to pay to park. Basic. is the store sharing the space and it is nice to be able to browse their inventory while waiting for your drinks. They have some things that I have not seen anywhere else if I had to compare it to another store I would compare it to Earth Bound. Everything seemed to be environmentally conscious which is always nice to see.

It's located right along 2nd Ave amongst all of the restaurant hubbub. Street parking, but if you're willing to take a stroll for a couple blocks, it's easy. This is one of the busier coffee shops in town, I would advise against seeking silence here. It's a shared space with "basic," a vintage clothing and art retailer which has awesome things made by local people. The people that worked there were so friendly. I came because I had to get that crème brûlée latte. It did not disappoint. One of the most delicious coffee drinks I've had in a long time. It tasted like a hug, perfectly caramel sweet, and fun to drink. It's not often that coffee gets turned into an interactive experience. The pastries looks great. The couch in the front window looked like an awesome spot to post up with some buddies. There were plenty of tables and chairs to work at. I will most certainly be back.

The space had a lot of people inside--many working or meeting up--so it had a lively, productive vibe. Meow! We ordered the Abyssinian Latte with vanilla and cinnamon, and it was absolutely the bomb -- warm, smooth, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The space itself is incredibly cozy and inviting. Colorful furniture, eclectic paintings, and musical instruments hanging on the walls give it a creative, artsy feel -- like they actually get used by a local band after hours. It has that relaxed coffeehouse charm where you could totally imagine Phoebe Buffay singing "Smelly Cat," yet it's also calm enough to have a real conversation or get a bit of work done on a laptop. Parking is street parking only, but we didn't have too much trouble finding a spot. They offer pastries and I noticed they also serve breakfast items, though we stopped in just for coffee this time. The shop was fairly full, which is always a good sign, but there were plenty of small tables that comfortably seat two to four people, so it never felt cramped. The baristas were super friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive vibe. My partner and I ended up lingering longer than planned while we talked through our day's plans -- always a sign of a great coffee spot. Warm atmosphere, delicious drinks, and kind staff make this an easy five-star experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of their cat-themed creations!
