This is a great neighborhood spot that I've been wanting to try! I love that it's a little bungalow cozy feel inside and on the patio, right in the heart of Clarksville/W 6th. The ambiance is great! The menu was a bit challenging to navigate being gluten free, and the safest option ended up being to split the Wagyu (most expensive item on the menu) but it was delicious and we had no regrets. If you are celiac, this might not be the best place to go since the menu changes regularly and is not well labeled. Our waitress was helpful to ask the kitchen questions though! We had great drinks, great food, and a lovely date night on the patio out here. The service was a tad bit slow, but overall it's definitely a place I would come back to! read more

Went for Valentines Day! It was a beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious! I ordered the gnocchi and my bf ordered the fish. I actually was not a fan of the gnocchi it taste fried and then was soggy. My bf ordered me the crispy chicken appetizer since I didn't like it and that was amazingggg. A group of us stopped by for a friend's birthday dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant has great mood lighting for a cocktail bar and our servers were prompt and helpful. We had a large group and split a few appetizers and entrees. I tried the NOLA BBQ shrimp which were tasty and came with a good amount of shrimp. The baguette was a bit soggy with the sauce - I think I would have preferred a crispier baguette for dipping. One of my favorites was the "when I dip, you dip, we dip" - the ingredients of the dip were just delicious and paired perfectly together! It was polished off pretty quickly by our table. I was also a fan of the crispy brussels sprouts which were just the right level of crispy! For drinks, I tried the BBC which was a highlight of the night. The black color of the drink came from the activated charcoal and made for a very visually ...interesting look. I adored the coconut texture on the side of the glass and appreciated how nicely it was presented. I tried the grasshopper later in the night which felt like more of a miss - the mint flavor was overpowering, though the vanilla ice cream was a nice touch. For entrees, we decided to split a nightcap burger which was juicy and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the fries as well. It made for a nice succulent dish to round out the night. All the staff were so friendly and it was a lot of fun catching up with the group in a nice, cozy restaurant in Austin. Good food and vibes! The restaurant seems more low key - not super busy and not super noisy- so it could be good for a larger party. The setting is intimate and the Christmas decor is delightful. The story of the establishment was wonderful to hear - the house used to be the owner's chiropractor's office, and her husband is the one who develops the recipes if I remember that correctly. The cocktail menu is quite amusing and crude, so maybe not the place to bring your parents if they are prude Food was good, although only a few dishes truly "hit" for me. They said the menu changes seasonally - makes it appealing to come back again! We tried the following: 1. Brussel sprouts: good! 2. Burrata: loved the apricots!! Wish it cane with more bread 3. Arancini: the sauce was really good but wasn't a huge fan of this dish 4. BBQ shrimp: my favorite and it came with bread drenched in a pool of oil. Wish it had more shrimp included 3. Good vibes, sup par food. The ambiance of the place is super cute, it's like you're in an old but hip house with modern decor, a nice bar, and ample tables. They are usually busy so I highly recommend having a reservation. Our waitress was very off putting, interrupted our conversation several times and this was in a quick span of time. We felt very rushed and didn't really get much in the way of suggestions for what to eat. We ordered the charcuterie board which was very lack luster and honestly not very tasty! I had the grilled cheese as my main and it was very dry and actually almost cold upon being served. Super mixed emotions about my visit last night. Not being an Austin native, someone that lives here recommended this spot to us. Super cozy ambience in here must admit. The staff 10/10. The food is what I'm giving this spot a 3 stars instead of 5. We started off with a Cheese & Charcuterie board. Nothing crazy about it. Great appetizer to start with. My main entree was a Roasted chicken that was on top if some sort of sauce & a red sauce. The white sauce reminded me like some sort of yogurt. Red sauce mixed with the white sauce balanced out and had a better taste as I dipped my chicken too. Chicken was good, crispy skin and seasoned well. Now, this plate had a bunch of radishes that just didn't find it good also for the arugula. Menu claims to have roasted bell peppers and pecans. I didn't see any of it, must've been blended into that red sauce I mentored earlier. Second dish was a Night Cap burger. Pretty good burger must say. Super juicy, can't really mess up a burger. Patties were just a tad bit salty which had me drinking water after each bite. The fries that came along were mediocre. Lastly, dessert. By our waiter he recommended their Banana Foster pudding. I could tell it wasn't made fresh that day of because the bananas were definitely ripened. They had a dark color to it. Also what was interesting was that this dessert felt like it had some sort of nutmeg spice or even cinnamon that I felt like it was overpowering the whole dessert itself. Not enjoyable at all. Overall, I had better expectations for the food itself. Stated before the staff were great. Nothing towards them, super attentive throughout the experience. This is one of those places I wish I could keep a secret but I have to give credit where it's due :p I've been here twice and both have been a great experience. The first time with girlfriends and the second time with my husband. Sitting at the bar waiting for our friends was the best start. Then she proceeded to offer us some complimentary appetizers to have while we waited, which was super sweet! They served us the Polenta & brussels sprouts & OMG!! THAT POLENTA was the best thing I've ever had!! Brussels sprouts were also very delicious, but my favorite was the polenta. I've never had such a flavorful polenta. & to top it all off, their bartender makes some amazing drinks! We had the espresso martini (which my friend was obsessed with) and 2 other whiskey drinks! Manager was extremely rude and was super degrading. Came with a large group and he came outside to lecture us and yell at us as if he was a teacher. We were nothing but respectful the entire time and they were mad that we ordered more than 2 rounds of drinks. He claimed we were "barking" at him and the bartender. Will not ever be returning- and do not recommend for groups larger than 4 unless you don't mind getting one drink every 45 minutes and getting yelled and degraded by a middle aged man. I went with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday on a Friday evening. As you know, the weather in Austin fluctuates in the spring and this day was no exception. We sat inside because it was so hot outside. I wish we had sat outside only because the music was so LOUD. Maybe I'm just getting old or tired from teaching all day ;) The food was excellent and the drinks were tasty. We shared an appetizer, had a drink, and then made some dinner choices. We ordered the short ribs/couscous, salad with chicken, and the burger (my choice). The burger was a double burger, similar to a smash burger. The bun was perfect and the fries were hot! Everyone loved their meal. I ate half (could have eaten the whole thing) but took the rest for lunch. I filled up on an extra glass of wine! You do remember the part where I said we taught elementary school kids! :) Give this place a try for a date night or girl's night. The bar was open behind us too for people to sit socially distanced. I've had better, but I've also had worse. The house made focaccia was definitely a highlight. CRISPY BUSSELS SPROUTS - these were delightfully flavorful and just the right amount of crispy. The service was slow and not good at all. Every time we ordered a drink we would ask for another one by the time we received it because they were that slow at the bar. The food was below average. I would not recommend the Hit me with your best shot cocktail if you're expecting an espresso martini. It's not. It was strong, but not tasty.
