Raul went WAY above and beyond!!…read more My friend's car was broken into in Oakland, and both of our gym bags were stolen. I was able to track one of my AirPods to Fentons, so we went in and explained the situation to the manager, Raul. Raul told us that he had seen a couple of black bags outside the restaurant on Friday night. After waiting a day to see if anyone claimed them, the staff had wrapped the bags in trash bags and put them in the dumpster. Raul then did something we absolutely did not expect -- he jumped into the dumpster himself and started digging through the trash to find our bags. My friend and I were prepared to do it ourselves, but Raul did the heavy lifting and eventually found both bags at the very bottom. Thankfully, because they had been wrapped in plastic, everything inside was completely protected. We recovered 100% of our belongings, which we honestly thought we'd never see again. What could have been a nightmare of police reports, insurance claims and replacing everything turned into an incredible customer-service story because Raul took the time to help us. We stayed for lunch and ice cream afterward and made sure to tip Raul and the staff very generously. Everyone was kind, sympathetic and helpful. Huge thank you to Raul and the entire Fentons team. Raul, you absolutely did not have to jump into that dumpster for us, but you did -- and we'll never forget it. Fentons is lucky to have you!

The ice cream sandwiches look small but wow they're super filling bc the ice cream is super densely packed and the cookies are rich, I had to share mine and the best part was they don't melt or fall apart. The line can get long but it's worth it. I really like how they don't rush you when you're trying flavors, the music is always good and the workers have been fantastic in energy and service each time. I also enjoy their non dairy ice creams, very tasty that I don't even blink if I try one and if I like it then I like it. I always like the coconut flavor and thai. The soft serves are so good and I like the raspberry sauce on the side. I usually take visitors here and so far, they've all liked this place and adore the inner alley shops.

The moment you walk into the shop, you'll notice the current flavor offerings displayed on colorful ice cream-shaped signs across the wall to the right. I could spend an eternity studying each flavor, but there's limited space to queue indoors so really gotta decide on a flavor and serving style fast in order to keep the line moving. Among the flavors were some classics, fruity/floral mixes, and dessert-inspired ones too, a whole range so there's something for everyone. I got the Breakfast Brownie and it was unforgettable! It tasted creamy and delightful without being overwhelming, while the cornflakes mixed inside added a satisfying crunch to each bite. I came back a second time before a show at Crybaby, a smaller venue across the street. Grabbing a scoop here to-go has naturally become part of my pre-concert routine at this point and I plan to come back again next time to explore more flavors. If you're ever heading to a show nearby, I'd definitely recommend stopping by beforehand for a lil energy boost and treat.

They own an apartment in Paris and I didn't want to offend them with my usual guerrilla tactics. I'm known to fight dirty and conspire with others during this game and everybody hates me because of it, and I didn't want to be banned from their apartment, as Paris in the fall is lovely. Thus my journey with Walter began. One thing about me, is I respect a place that knows flavors. I don't want basic vanilla, give me some weird and strange and flavorful that will tantalize my palette and ignite my senses. Give me salty and sweet. Give me TANG. Give me these things and DONT give me gas. Bad Walters cracked the code. All flavor, real dairy, no lactose, no gas. Each week they have a different batch of flavors, so there's always something new to explore. There's like 6 flavors to choose from at once and they let me try them all before I selected my choice hehe. I tried to sample 6 flavors at Cold Stone and they took me out back and shot me, but here, nobody was mean to me. Mr. Potatohead is the flavor I landed on--brown sugar custard with peanut butter swirl and chocolate covered potato chips. The chunks of chocolate covered potato chips were lodged in the ice cream and I felt like an archaeologist excavating ancient rocks as my spoon lifted the potato chocolate chunks out of the creamy custard into my mouth. I bought a pint. The Mick Jagger was another joy, with its salty caramel and Oreo chunks. They're lucky Peaches Christ was sold out because I might've lost my mind for a peach cobbler ice cream! They wouldve had to drag me out by the back of my neck like a rabid dog! Maybe next time. All in all, tasty ice cream. Would recommend.

We have been extremely loyal customers ever since. They rotate flavors, but through many months and many visits I don't think I've ever tried a bad one. The flavors are also very fun, not your typical cookies and cream, cookie dough, etc. Although they do have a plain version sometimes. The employees are very helpful and kind letting you sample the flavors. Our absolute favorite is tinky winky- ube flavored ice cream with honey comb pieces. They also sell points to the side- take advantage. You'll want more when you're done! The ambiance and vibe of bad Walter's is perfect. Bright colors, disco ball dripping, fun sayings on the cups, the whole 9 yards. The take home pint we got has Reddit "hate" comments and their responses, it's hilarious. This ice cream store is way more of a vibe than any marketing agent could dream of. Who would've thought I wish I could be a rep for an ice cream company? Oh and they also do a stamp card when you buy pints to get a free scoop. You bring in the containers so they can recycle them. It's a win win for both sides, loves it. Best ice cream ever!!!

Breakfast looks pretty simple too. It's actually considered affordable in today's economic environment. Everything was legit and good. Only thing I didn't like were waitresses who seem to bus and rush customers with placing orders, but it's understandable during lunch hours and prime time. They will help if you wave them down in busy settings. Afterall, it's about time and money in Oakland Chinatown, but food is done right good. There's plenty of places to sit inside. Worth convenient stops and it definitely adds value to locals visiting Chinatown. I still like Shooting Star Cafe.
