I have both eaten in the restaurant and ordered takeout and have had good experiences. The wait was a bit long when dining in, but there was a steady crowd of folks coming in when my party of three stopped by for dinner on a Saturday evening. Our burgers were hot and greasy, but a good kinda greasy! Way too many fries to be eaten by just one person, had we known, we wouldn't have ordered extra fries. I've been here several times and even brought out of town relatives to eat hereT he atmosphere is funky sort if a 50s diner theme. To be honest this place is kind of a greasy spoon hole in the wall type place, but don't let that fool you, this is some good food! The burgers are great but my favorite us a buffalo chicken sandwich. The chicken breast is so big it hangs out of the bun! Near Crowley HS that about captures it. An old convenience store turned awesome burger joint and ice cream place. The burgers are really hot, greasy, cooked to order. I usually do the mushroom swiss burger, hot,hot,hot,,with a steamed bun. Tastey greasy, perfectly cooked. I like this place becasue it's not Kincaids or Dutch's. Moister burger than kinkaids, more laid back and easier to park than Dutch's. Fries are home cut yet they can get them crispy instead of soggy. Its closer to home and work for me but still a better burger than average, i love this place. read more

Yes the burgers are greasy. Don't like or appreciate a good, greasy burger? Don't go. I happen to love the occasional grease overload so this place is fantastic, in my opinion. We've been going to Nicky D's for a couple of years now. We drive about 40 minutes once a month or so to get there. If we lived closer, it would be more like once a week. We've tried many of the other burger places in the metroplex and this one is hands down our favorite. I personally think that the burgers are exceptionally tasty. I normally get the baby burger and fries because I can't finish a regular sized one and it's always perfectly filling. My go-to is the baby burger, well done, with cajun spice and double cheddar, and a side of hickory dressing. I've never had a problem with the fries being too oily or brown. They've always been the perfect mix between slightly crunchy and soft. We usually get a side of gravy for dipping and that just adds to the delightfulness. I can't think of a single thing that we've tried here that we haven't enjoyed. We've done the fried pickles (which are perfectly battered and fried...and not too greasy), the onion rings and tots, the grilled chicken sandwich, the mushroom swiss burger, and the shakes. The interior isn't the fanciest but it's welcoming and makes you feel like you're in a real dive type place. (And I mean that in a good way!) Tammy, one of the owners, is often working at the counter and is very friendly. If you go often enough, she'll start to memorize your order. Just a couple of notes: there is no inside bathroom...you have to use porta potties around back. They are big though and not really your normal gross ones. Still, if you don't like the idea of using one, you may want to go before you leave the house. Also, they get super crowded around lunch time on Saturdays and there isn't a ton of seating, so go early or a little later in the afternoon. Also, they aren't open on Sunday! read more

Best in town! I can't wait to go back and try a different burger. I had the Junior Bacon Jammer which was OUTSTANDING. The onion rings were also wonderful. I went 20 minutes till closing and eat there. That night they closed at 8:00pm. So after the locked the doors and started cleaning as I was eating my food, the kids "young adults" were very tentative to me making sure i had everything I needed. Lord yes. This place is a time honored classic. I've been here with so many friends and family over the years and it just gets better. These burgers aren't for any sissy types. If you lick your fingers before using a napkin, if you always get cheese or an extra patty, if you just want a burger that'll make you look about 4 months pregnant after eating it, then look no further. The hamburgers are Fantastic... there is no downside here, none whatsoever, except for one and that is the fact that it is in Crowley and far from my house... Very good greasy burgers, prices are a little high, but nowadays EVERYTHING costs more so that isn't their fault. You definitely get a awesome burger, fries could be better though. I normally eat their burgers there but one day I decided to try their Ruben I hear everyone talking about. It was awesome, I have had 2 others at different places and they don't compare to this one. The inside is wacky with a order window with pictures of every burger you could think of, and they ring a bell and yell when you give them a tip.
