Arrived around 5:00 for a beer and some food. They had so many beers on tap! If you can't find something you like, you are not trying hard enough. The food was good for traditional bar food. We had the dry rubbed wings and toasted raviolis. We sat at the bar and was a bit disappointed that the service was a little slow at first. At times she would be gone somewhere for a good while before taking our drink order and then again to order food. It did get better after the second bartender arrived.

Now we found this place because we were tired of our usual spots. Tucked off behind some tracks and off a side street it seemed, we found this awesome location. With a dimly lit bar area and a party area you can reserve for events this place was busy. We ended up sitting in the dining room by the bar. Our Waiter was awesome and the food was even better now I love a good burger the they didn't disappoint. Everything as hot and fresh and seasoned to perfection. Some of the best fries I've ever had. Food was so good we even decided to get a pizza to go

I was gifted a pub pass for Christmas and have been making my way around STL trying new breweries and restaurants, so next on the list was Nick's Pub. I had been here back in 2019 during the Stanley Cup and it was PACKED. Great environment but I didn't get the chance to try any food at that time and I think we shared a bucket of domestic beer. I was excited to go back after realizing they have over 100 beers on tap and a BIG food menu. I ordered a 4 Hands IPA (can't remember the name) which was ok but had a watery finish which was odd. My husband enjoyed his beer (can't remember which one). For food, we ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer and while the flavor was good the breading lacked and we were disappointed. I ordered the "that's what she said" with tots (tots were so good) the sandwich was really good but WAY too messy. One of my biggest irritations is when a sandwich is so messy that you have to disassemble it in order to eat it or it falls apart while eating. I enjoyed the spicy aioli a lot but doubt I would get this sandwich again due to the messiness. My husband ordered the Frisco melt and he thought it was very good. Overall we will be back! Excited to try more of their beers and some of the other food options.

The food was good. We ordered a stuffed potato appetizer which was very good. We also ordered a double cheeseburger and a southwest chicken wrap, both with fries. The double cheeseburger came with something called "grilled ketchup." I was intrigued as I have never tried that. It was a bit of a disappointment though as it just seemed like it was warmed ketchup. I was hoping for something with more caramelization of the sugars in the ketchup from the grill. The chicken wrap was very tasty and a large portion. My husband needed a to-go container for half of it. The fries were good. I asked for them well done, and they were nicely brown and did not disappoint. The beverages arrived in large tumblers with crushed ice which was a pleasant surprise. Only Pepsi products are available for soda. There is a funky smell in this place. The waitress was rather short with us today as well. The bathroom was out of toilet paper. The floor and stairs to the second floor are uneven.

British Bar INSIDE a "British designed hotel", so I had my hopes probably heightened more that it should have with my previous British bar results. I went in thinking British craziness and got a "Edgar Allen Poe" feel... But I'm going to say this was NOT what I was expecting. First and foremost, your eyes are going to need adjusting. Plain and simple, it felt more like a dark ... room? (Part of the problem I think is that as it was already June, you can forget using the fireplace to lighten the room up) so it felt.. "Small", and I"m going to feel weird saying this... "Romantic Horrorfest". Wait, before you go "wha??", this isnt' necessarily a bad thing. The Taxidermy , the photos on the wall. the fireplace. the VERY (and I mean VERY) dim lighting... The limited seating on the main floor, the one door in and out it had a "wooden cabin feel".. Yes, if you had a wonderful romantic film and it was suddenly invaded by some monster villain... This where it would take place and it would be perfect. (See I can find positive things to say about things i wasn't looking for) As for the service, apparently (going back to the Romantic filmfest), I was struggling to get any attention for the bartendress, cause I guess I was solo'ing by myself, and because of how I wasn't able to get the bartendress attention... I kinda felt like an unwanted customer in a place more for couples or friends getting together which had me leaving shortly thereafter, so no real food score (although I will say, much like Oh London ,the menu wasn't really much to work through...), Anyway, no TV's, no world cup game on the air.. just like I said a vibe of a cabin in a "romantic movie, where the monsters lurk". And Apologies for some of the iffy pictures, it just didn't feel right using a flash on the camera in such a secluded locale) and like I said, it wasnt' what I was expecting (rowdy British fans watching the local club or something), but there's something about it that even i have to admit, would make this location a nice "date night" or "out with friends' location, more so than just a single person looking for a nightcap. (And Maybe there really is a monster hiding in the fireplace, to keep the "Horror" feel going?? :)

++++ food ++++ family atmosphere…read more The food here is delicious! I ended up getting the LW burger with pub cheese and it came with shoe string fries, the burger was thick and juicy, while the shoe string fries with garlic aioli as my sauce was, perfect! This is a pretty good family atmosphere, they have high top tables but also had high top high chairs! A real positive in our book, haven't ran into many restaurants that have this option. I would suggest if you have little ones to order your food when they take your drinks because the service can be hit or miss depending on the time you go, and food can take a little longer than expected. So get the little ones ordered in first and then decide on the adults.

I only saw two high top tables for two people and they were in corners. So we sat in a corner on backless stools. Stools in restaurants should have backs!Pretty uncomfortable and we won't do that again. It also has really high ceilings so it got pretty loud in there. Our server was Erin and she was good! The place was packed inside and outside (in the rain - there were umbrellas over the tables) so the staff was super busy. She kept the drinks and food coming at a good pace. We started off with drinks and onion rings. We had been told how good the onion rings were so we had to order them - they lived up to the hype! I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband is. He had three different ones and didn't really enjoy any of them. He tried Tidewater Plains, Master of the Universe, and Batholith. I had a Jungleberg cocktail and liked it so much, I ordered another one. The server said they were out of them. There were five ingredients in the drink so I have no idea what they were out of. I ordered a Spicy Ancho Margarita and it was okay. It shouldn't be called spicy, because it is not. I ordered Chicken Wings and Onion Soup. Yes, it was summer. But it was cold and rainy and soup sounded good! The soup was very good - very cheesy and they didn't put a chunk of bread in there to get all soggy, which I appreciated. The wings were okay. They were way too saucy for me. My husband got the Philly and said it was okay, but nothing special. I would have probably given 3.5 stars, but that is not an option. I'd go back for the onion rings!

The vibe is inviting year-round, with retired taps draped from the ceiling, Guiness and Jameson flags all around, wood floors and exposed brick walls. The inside is perfect for frigid winter/humid summer days and the outdoor patio space is a go-to for beautifully mild evenings. As a beer-and-variety enjoyer, I appreciate the relatively extensive rotating draft list that cycles through many local favorites and seasonal options. We've tried a decent portion of the menu and nothing has disappointed. One quick highlight is the adult grilled cheese - simple, but delicous and surprisingly filling when paired with tomato bisque. Service has taken longer than one might expect on the past few handful of visits dating back to the holidays. To be fair, longer waits are understandable around Thanksgiving and Christmas and I can't speak to their back-of-house process. I don't think I'd recommend Llewellyn's if you're looking for a quick sit-down meal around peak lunch or dinner hours, but I can say our servers have always been very friendly and accommodating with each visit. We walked around looking at art for a while. There was music being played on stage that was not pleasing to the ear (I'm trying to put it nicely), and it was super loud. Finally I got a staff member's attention and asked if we could please have a server. A gal came over and apologized and said she wasn't told she had our table. She was still waiting on tables outside and we had to wait longer still to place our orders. After all that, she forgot to order all of the food. One person in our group didn't get any food.
