Cozy and inviting, a place you don't feel out of place (even for someone as socially anxious as I can be). Drink in the design, then chase it with a draught. I appreciate the constantly rotating selection of lagers and pilsners; each visit is a bit different, with five or six selections ranging from light lagers to hoppy pilsners and occasional baltic porters and cold IPAs. Half pours and slow pours are my favorite way to get the full experience at Little Lager. The bartenders are also very friendly and knowledgeable; I enjoy seeing the community they've created among regulars and I've learned a bit more about different beer styles and their serving methods on my stops in. I've personally recommended Little Lager to friends and coworkers, but there are a few things to keep in mind: the small space is not the best for a group happy hours, there isn't a kitchen to serve food (though they do allow outside food) , and there are very few options for non-beer drinkers (outside of a few packaged ciders, wines, and different ways to experience Chicago's infamous Malort). Beyond that, it's a laid-back spot to visit with one or two friends after work or to experience their regular collaborations with local breweries like Perennial and 2nd Shift. I've been a fan since my first visit, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

There's something that makes it so special being smaller and intimate. The ambiance reminded me a bit of Pagan Wine Bar, low lighting was probably it. They have a decent size draught list that features local breweries. It isn't overwhelming which I can appreciate. They also have packaged beer and cider, as well as wine. We even tried Malort gummy bears which weren't bad: the sweetness of the candy evens out the taste. Id definitely return!

Welcome to your new favorite neighborhood bbq joint…read more Stellar Hog has been a meat up spot for my friends and me for several years. Especially during the spring and summer when we can take full advantage of the patio. There's live music a few nights a week. I recommend going early. They occasionally run out of the daily specials and more popular items. Step inside the bar area to place your order for food and drinks. They carry a nice selection of local and craft beer. There is a full bar for any of your cocktails and spirit drinks. They offer all of the traditional bbq meats: brisket, ribs, smoked turkey. My favorite is the smoked salami. I still haven't figured out what's in there but dang it's good! The meats can be served as a meal with a 1/2 of your choice of meat and two sides. The sides are absolutely stellar . Mac and cheese, pit beans, slaw, potato salad etc. My go to is the Brussels sprouts and the hand cut fries. They offer traditional sandwiches that include one side. Feeling like something out of this world? Try one of the Stellar Sandwiches. Can't decide from the long list of options? Have the team give you a recommendation. Don't forget to ask about the daily specials. The pork steak is enough for two people and thick fall off the bone tender. Grab a number when you order and find a table. The food comes out pretty quick. The final addition is one or all of their house made sauces. Spicy Lou is my go to followed by the white sauce. I've never been disappointed with a meal here. Hope to see you there soon

The kind of place where they welcome you and are truly appreciative of your patronage. The Stellar Hog is one of those places. Located in an older neighborhood all by itself, we were greeted by the owner who took us to our table. The first thing you notice is the smell. It's a wonderful BBQing meat smell that makes you can't wait to eat. The place is bigger on the inside than it looks and very clean. There's an outdoor eating area as well. We ordered at the bar, both my friend and I ordering the OG Brisket Sandwiches, mine with Coleslaw and my friend's with fries. No sooner did we sit down did our food come, and WOW, the sandwiches were huge with a pile of perfectly cooked melt in your mouth Brisket. I'm hard pressed to remember any better. The coleslaw was, well, different and hard to explain, but had a tangy mustard kind of taste. The fries on my buddy's plate were fantastic as well. The owner checked on us several times, and obviously valued us as customers. BBQ is huge in St. Louis and the big places and chains get all the attention. But if you want some seriously good BBQ in an authentic down home place, head to The Stellar Hog. Let me know by liking my review.

Small lobby and a screening room that seats maybe 50 people. Fun posters and other stuff. The schedule is updated regularly for at least a month out, so you may pretty much structure your life around screenings. Bring your own food. Fun, informal contests before certain screenings. Themed cocktails. Tickets often only $5 and occasionally free may be purchased online in advance w/o extra fees. My best time at Arkadin was for a screening of Carnival of Souls, which was preceded by a mini carnival behind Arkadin. I hope that happens again.

I want to check the calendar and make it back out for more regular happy hour + movie night dates. I know my husband would love it. The seating in the theater itself is comfortable- a few rows of traditional movie seats, with a few rows of armchairs and other seating in the back. You can tell that the very kind owners have poured their hearts into this place. There has been a lot of thought put into the bar menu, the decor, and the features every month. Happy to see such a crowd turning out for events here, like the Taskmaster finale watch party last night. There is something special about a group of people so into their "thing" and sharing it with the community. Bravo!
