You could see this place being lit on St. Patrick's Day. It's a deceptively large space, perhaps owing to it being situated on a street that's more along the lines of an alley, along with a few government and industrial buildings. It already smells vaguely of mop water, so it wouldn't be an issue if someone barfed. This place pours a good Guinness draft. Not that I'm an expert. The last few times I had it, it was in the weird cans with the dispenser thing inside of them, years ago. Probably decades ago. But I appreciate the fact that it's served kinda warm, and without too much of a head, meaning you get more beer for your $10, or whatever they're charging you. The food isn't half-bad either. All the photos on Yelp make it look gross, like maybe they were taken in low light, or a long time ago. Possibly both. It was all lit up when I was there, at maybe 8 PM on a Wednesday evening. Does this place turn into some sort of nightlife destination for local boomers? I might drive by this evening and see if I see a bunch of golf carts parked out front. You can't go wrong with a burger in a place like this, so that was the plan. They offer something called the Pub Burger, which comes on an English muffin. It's hard to imagine how that could be a good idea, but I briefly considered it anyway, for the sake of citizen food journalism. The problem is, I would have had to eat it. There was also something called the Llywelyn, served on toasted brioche, which is what I probably should have gotten. I got something called the Diner, which was fine. As its name suggests, it's a bog standard double cheeseburger, like something you might get in, erm, a diner. It was good but not great, but I've been spoiled when it comes to burgers lately, having hit Hi Pointe, Shake Shack and Salt & Smoke all within the past few weeks. The ingredients were really good, including the vegetable toppings, which were fresh and expertly sliced. I especially liked the razor-thin onion slices. The thing that would have really elevated it is if the burger patties had a little char to them. The fish and chips looked good, and I appreciate the fact that they already had malt vinegar out on the table, as if it's a standard condiment. I might have to try that, if I return. I don't know how often I'd eat here otherwise, but a group I belong to meets here on occasion, so that's not outside the realm of possibility. read more

Llewellyn's is located on a very narrow street named Moody. There is one-sided street parking, but the neighboring lots appear to be other businesses, so we parked at the rear of their building and walked up. I didn't know the World Cup would be on, so it was so loud inside I could hardly hear myself think. We asked to sit on the patio where it was a bit quieter. However, more soccer fans were on the patio, smoking and wishing the US game to be put on. As soon as they accommodated this request, it got louder. Our waitress was lovely but also couldn't hear us outside at times. I ordered steak and brie sliders (appetizers) while he ordered the famous steak sandwich. The sliders came in a trio, and I ordered a side of sweet potato fries. The portion of fries was massive, and each slider is cooked to your liking and came with 3-4 chunks per slider. I did wish it had more brie and caramelized onions, but it was still good. If they ever want to elevate the recipe or make an offering, garlic butter buns would set this off even more! He enjoyed his steak and cheese sandwich, and we tried their seasonal blackberry margarita with our meal. I hadn't been here in a while but will avoid it during peak game times of the year. I've been coming here forever. From family dinners, post work drinks, special events in the event room, and casual lunches, it's a good spot in a good area. They have a large amount of drinks to choose from, and their pub food has a little bit of a twist to it. I'm a huge fan of their pretzel sticks and Caesar salads (girl dinner) but wanted some protein this visit. I got the sliders and they were tasty. They were out of a few things, and I think they were out of buns so they used what looked equivalent to hot dog buns. Tbh bread is bread, it was fine, just different. Went the Saturday of st Patrick's day parade downtown for dinner. Was just the right mood for us, not too crazy but enough going on for it to be fun. They had a special st pats menu which was nice. I had the corned beef and cabbage dinner and my companion had the shepherds pie. Both were excellent. I had enough of the corned beef left for a wonderful Irish breakfast the next day with eggs. It was just as good the next day. Our server was competent and pleasant, and the atmosphere was cheery and fun. I usually enjoy Llewelyn when I come in. **Not gluten free or celiac safe I went there tonight with my family as someone with celiac disease. I already knew I couldn't have anything from the shared fryer or stove top due to cross contamination with gluten so I was going to get a salad no dressing to be safe. When the waitress came over I asked her to let the kitchen know I have a gluten allergy and was going to order the chicken salad. She was very rude with her facial expressions and acting like my food protocols were an inconvenience. I think she was trying to explain there is a risk of being glutened but her questions made it sound like it was going to be a hassle to let the kitchen know. It's hard to know how to rate Llywelyn's Pub in Webster because I love it as a bar. I recently held a happy hour with former colleagues there and the service was amazing (Melinda or Melissa, I am not sure but seriously an amazing waiter!). But my recent meal there wasn't that great. So that gets a bit taken off. I contacted them about an annual get together we missed last year and found a new requirement to email the office. That threw me but everything was handled easily and quickly! The reservation process was awesome. We have gathered here several times and love that we can get dedicated space reserved, everyone loves the drinks, atmosphere etc. My only regret, I ordered the shepherd's pie and it just wasn't to my liking. May be popular with others but I am used to something with a different depth of flavors. The fried pickles, mac n cheese bites etc all seemed to get rave reviews though. read more

We had a great experience at the Webster location! The space was lively but not loud. There is an extensive draft beer list which we loved. Server was attentive and genuinely patient with our child with special needs who takes a little longer to order. The fish and chips were good, but the oil they were cooked in felt heavy to me. We came here for a work event in their private Webster Pub room, which costs $100 to reserve but holds up to 100 people. I appreciated the free electric car charger in their parking lot! The appetizers were all quite good and my favorite was the stuffed mushroom caps which were creamy and delicious. The crab rangoons were just ok. I also highly enjoyed the Welsh chips and the pepper cheese dip that they brought out to each table. We also liked the honey BBQ meatballs, fried cannelloni with marina (reminded me of toasted ravioli), and pretzel bites and cheese. The appetizer portion sizes run on the smaller side. read more

Had an interesting experience. Was enjoying local beer with friends, waitress dropped off chips and cheese because the kitchen was going to take a while with our orders. We were later offered two beers that the bar made incorrectly, and the manager comped a beer for each of us. Never had such great PR just because we had to wait a while for our food! Restaurant was clean and nice, and live music started not long before our food arrived. Food is always good from here, haven't had a bad experience. Fries and burgers are great and good quantity. Had a meal with friends last night, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. They were very busy and service was slow so that was understandable. The most bizarre thing to happen was one person in our large group got her meal a while before the rest of us. Also since we had separate checks most people had closed out their tab before a couple of us even got their checks. I am vegan and options are very limited here, only thing I could eat was impossible burger. But the sweet potato waffle fries were good, just a little cold. Overall very accommodating to large groups and our server took a picture for us. Server was friendly and it was not too loud to have conversations as some restaurants can be. Stopped in for lunch today on a Tuesday. The venue is wicked cool, bank vault and plenty of setting makes this place a great place to catch up with old friends. Right when you walk in, order the chips and cheddar dip. It is not only fantastic, but ignites a party in your tummy where all the interesting people are invited. We ordered the Rueben, the Steak Sandwich, and the Fish n' Chips. The Rueben was quote "outstanding". A hearty size, something I imagine eating in the Prancing Pony. To be honest, the pub burger has no right to say it's "award winning" on the menu. If you're going by those standards, the burger was a complete disappointment. If you're going by normal restaurant burger standards, it was a decent bite, except for the dry muffin. The side of Mac n' Cheese had a pretty good white cheese sauce on it, but I enjoyed the few fries that my companion shared with me a little better. I will have to give a shout out that they made us a very good Bloody Mary, probably the best I'd had! The last note is the appetizer, we had fried pickles which were delicious! We went to this restaurant on May 30th. Mt wife is Celiac and needs to eat Gluten Free. Not a single item on the menu was Gluten Free and after the waitress talked to the chef and manager nothing on the menu could be altered to accommodate her.
