The 5-star reviews are interesting considering the actual quality of this restaurant. We went in tonight for dinner and their holiday special drinks at "St. Nick's" (which has become kind of a tradition) and left, honestly, kind of disgusted. The food is mediocre at best, but don't let the owner hear that because he'd probably argue with you that they have the best food around. I ordered the brisket which was very thinly sliced (probably to make sure it was actually tender) which was basically swimming in soy sauce- and here I thought brisket was barbecue. The owner came by and bragged that it had spent 12 hours cooking overnight and they pulled it out of the oven that morning- so how was it still fresh at 6pm (I guess from sitting in a vat of hot soy sauce)? We were also dripped on multiple times from a leaking pipe above our heads. The waiter said "oh yeah that's been leaking for years- the owner is too lazy and too cheap to fix it". We told the owner who was walking around to all tables- not to ask how everything was, but instead to crack jokes and then leave immediately- and he said something along the lines of "oh yeah well did you see the rain this morning" and then immediately walked away. Final straw was 2 women in our party went into the women's bathroom and there were visible leaks in the ceiling with 3 tubs catching the drips, visible holes in the wall and tiles missing, and only one of the stalls actually locked so only one of them could use the bathroom at a time. Don't let the 5-star reviews fool you....this place is a dive. Won't be going back

Our server, Luca was terrific and helped make my friend's 60th birthday a fantastic time! As soon as I mentioned, it was her birthday he went in the back, lit a giant firework type candle, and all their servers came out playing a drum and brought out a sign that said this is the birthday girl! Such a nice little surprise! The ambience was actually very surprising and nice with the LED TVs showing a beautiful beach scene. Our margarita, piña colada, and martini were fabulous! Dinner was outstanding two of us got the salmon and it came out super hot with wonderful rice. The birthday girl ate mahi and loved it! We ended the evening with a huge piece of carrot cake! We had two children with us. They enjoyed their pizza and chicken fingers with fries! Couldn't have had a better time! Highly recommend it.

Locals actually told us not to go here. They said it's not any good but my husband insisted because of memories with his dad here 20+ years ago as a small kid. I'm so glad we came. The food was good! I loved ambiance it was amazing. Crab dip was good, Ribs were good, flat bread was good, wine and beer good, service was excellent with louie. No idea what others have a problem with here. Lol! We will totally come back next time we are in the area. I think you should check it out too!

Had a good experience at Nick's last night. The food was good and prompt, and service was very attentive. Our waiter, in particular, seemed like a very nice fellow. Initially, I was at a bit of a loss as to all the negative reviews, but I think part of it might be how odd and outdated the restaurant is inside. The entire wall that's a Jumbotron with animation like Finding Nemo is just...weird. And the table next to us, which I presume was reserved, had ridiculously oversized candelabra on it. The decor was like something out of a late 1960s sitcom. Maybe I should have only given them three stars, but they helped us out of a jam last night when the first restaurant we went to for dinner clearly wasn't getting any food out, so we left that one and landed at Nick's.

King Ribs long as my arm delicious. Met owner, Super nice friendly guy!

Great food great service. Been going for 36 yrs. Got king Ribs! Owner greeted us at door, got us a great seat and talked to us for a minute.

I should have listened to the other reviews. Went by Thursday evening, sign out front "last Thursday for 1/2 price strip steaks". Decided to go against what everyone else said and since the parking lot was mostly full, we decided to go in. Steak, baked potato, garlicky green beans came out very quickly. The potato and beans were hot. The steak was seasoned with a salty rub (?), couldn't quite figure out the flavor but it was just okay. Biggest problem, I asked for medium rare, it was medium rare but absolutely dry. I'm not sure if it was cooked ahead of time and then sat and reheated? Normally when you get a steak or burger medium rare it is juicy, this was so dry and chewy I could not eat it. Hubby got the ribs, tender but not a lot of flavor. Terrible and not worth the $60 we spent. Note: this is not a quiet restaurant as the bar music can be heard in the dining area because of the open floor plan.

Steak? Where are you?

The ribs that they have on sale are so small that I think they came from a mouse. It is a real ripoff!

There's smaller and much larger sizes. Medium/large are just right for me. Captain Chris served us. Caught the crabs earlier that morning.Fresh. Sweet meat. Even explained about how to tell which crabs are mature, heavy, and worth serving. Very selective and focused on quality. This is exactly what we were looking for. Prices were reasonable too. Restaurant opens at 5 pm for dinner. Worth the wait because these crabs are delish! I actually came back the next day and ordered a dozen to take home. So nice, they threw in extra crabs for us. The restaurant is run by his family. Mom bakes the cornbread and banana bread. Call ahead. Her breads sell out. It's little dine-in brown paper on the tables crab restaurant. Very family friendly. In fact, the walls are lined with crab pictures kids and patrons colored. You can even buy t-shirts there. They've been around for at least 10 years. We stumbled upon this place thru google search because the crab place we used to go to went out of business. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Excellent experience, friendly host, and the best crabs.

Our main motivation for visiting was to see Jordan and Cowan, both of whom previously worked at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. Jordan noticed us first and came over to say hello and share an update, and Cowan followed shortly after to do the same. I enjoyed two Sazeracs on the rocks for $10 each; unique to Hooked, this iconic New Orleans cocktail is a spirit-forward blend of Elijah Craig rye whiskey, aromatic bitters, a sugar cube, and an absinthe rinse, finished with a bright lemon twist. We also shared the happy hour wood-fired grilled oysters Reggiano with butter, garlic, blackening parmesan cheese, and salt for $19, though they tasted very salty. Additionally, I had the happy hour lobster roll on a toasted buttered brioche roll for $21, substituting the french fries with a side of coleslaw. It tasted quite similar to the lobster roll at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. I finished my meal with a happy hour draft Evo Lot 3 beer for $6. Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again.

The Chef looks familiar, I think I tasted his food before at one of the Celebrity Chefs Brunches for Meals on Wheels. I remember it being fantastic. There is outside dining but I booked inside as we weren't sure how warm it would be in May. It turned out to be a cold and windy weekend so we were very glad to be inside, plus the outside tables have a view of the highway. What a cute little restaurant inside; it is very tiny. We were crammed into a table in the corner. It was difficult to get past the other diners at their tables, and we could hear all the conversations around us. Every table was packed, I can't imagine what it's like in this room during the busy summer. Noelle was our server and she was amazing; very knowledgeable and friendly. She described the homemade bread service to us, and we ordered 2 Coastalpolitans which were made with Tito's Vodka, lime, soju, St. Germaine, and cranberry. They were sweet, and tart, and bright, and delicious. We decided on crab toast instead of the bread, and Noelle said we made the right choice. Wow, she was correct. The crab toast blew us away. It was chunks of crab on fluffy, crispy milk bread with pickled scallions, radish, lemon aioli, kelp powder, and lime. So beautiful and so delectable! RJ ordered the Pork Chop, which Noelle said One Coastal is known for, and I ordered the NJ Day Boat Scallops. We had no words. We sat there and quietly enjoyed every bite while listening to the surrounding tables, and knew we found a maybe not so hidden gem. My scallops were delicate and buttery and sweet, and melted in my mouth. RJ said his pork chop was tender and juicy, and the best he ever had. That is saying something. We finished with bread pudding because who doesn't love a good bread pudding, and we like to try it whenever we see one that looks interesting. It was salty and sweet and just so perfect. What One Coastal lacks in space and view, it makes up for with food and service. What a delightful place, and Noelle was a pleasure and a joy. We will definitely return to try all the other things and be lucky to sit anywhere inside or out.

They had a bread appetizer special which tasted like an upscale Texas Roadhouse bread and butter. The duck breast entree had great flavor but it didn't fully mesh well together. Some bites were great while some lacked. The duck itself was good very well
