Spoke with several companies trying to get estimates for adding freon to my AC system. I am extremely frustrated with these people. I called them to get routine maintenance on my AC, and I addressed a concern I had with my blower motor. I wish I hadn't mentioned it, bc the tech immediately went outside to clean the unit outside, and all of a sudden I had low pressure in the Freon lines, he didn't even take any of the panels off to clean the outside coil. What's crazy is the day before and all summer long my wife was freezing me out, and now all of a sudden I need to replace my entire air handler. He first quoted me $3500, then he called me back and said it would be $3600. Needless to say, I did not call him back or even asked them to do any more work, he didn't even do what I had originally called them for. He also told me that it would cost me $800 just to charge my system back up, and that it would cost me the same amount of money to fix the blower fan and charge my AC system. BEWARE. read more

AC was on the verge of going out and got a price from a big name in the area. Happened to call Nick's Air Service just to see what a competitors price would be. Not only was the cost $2K less, but he also explained that some of what they were recommending wasn't necessary. His guys were out the next day and had the unit installed in about 6 hours. The guys were friendly and worked quickly to get us set up right. They did scratch one of my door frames, but a little paint is worth the savings. The lights in my house would dim whenever the A/C condenser outside would turn on. I'm not talking like a very brief dim or flicker, but like a half second of brown out to the lights on the inside of the house. Extensive Googling showed that dimming lights were normal, but I suspected something was off. I contacted Nick's Air Services to check up on the condenser and Chuck reached out to me and scheduled a time to come out and take a look. He was friendly, but most importantly it was clear he was an expert. In about five or ten minutes he came back after looking at the unit and told me he knew what was wrong. I had to get the capacitor replaced, the wires going to the unit had to be secured and a start kit was recommended. I went with his recommendations and he told me he'd be back as he had to get the parts. Chuck demonstrated that he was an expert by demonstrating his knowledge and workmanship. I called on Friday after 4pm and told Nick about how our A/C company had just been out to fix our system and told us we needed at new blower for $1000. Since the blower was working fine on heat, we were skeptical that was the real issue. They provide good and speedy service but it is VERY expensive. Get the cost before you agree to service. They charged me a $125 trip charge which is reasonable for a Saturday. But they charged me an ADDITIONAL $255 fee for installing a $50 part and an ADDITIONAL $255 fee for installing a $25 part. The total visit was less than 30 minutes. My bill was over $600 for less than $100 parts and 30 min work. BE CAREFULL. read more

Nick's Air Services & Nick are great! 6 months ago I'd had a different company install a new HVAC unit & called them when I tried to use the heater. I had a problem with my unit shutting on and off & the heater not working properly when I tried using it. The A/C had been working properly so I wasn't aware of the problem until I tried to run my heater. I called out the original company to come out & find the problem & repair it under warranty. They couldn't find the problem & basically gave up. That's when I called Nick's Air because of his great reviews. Rick, a service man from Nick's Air was sent out & found the problem very quickly. He solved my problem in no time. Nick not only didn't charge me for the service, he gave me advise on what to say to the original company that installed it to set them straight that they can not just give up like they did when I have a 10 year warranty on parts & service. Well, I called them & told them what he'd told me to tell them. Needless to say, they were very apologetic & were going to do the minor repairs that Rick & Nick suggested at no cost to me for parts & labor & would honor the original contract. This was very unselfish of Nick & very helpful to me & relieved me from a lot of stress I had over this situation. Nick went up & beyond with what he did when he absolutely did not have to do it. Not my usual review, I had a service call with another bigger ac company they came out and diagnosed the issue and quoted me $1700 for a repair. That's a lot of money!! I called Dragan with Nick's air and he was able to check the warranty of the unit to make sure it was not still covered (it wasn't) I asked him if he could install the part if I ordered it, he agreed. Once the part arrived, Dragan came out and replaced the part for the fraction of the price, on the short notice, fast and without upsell. If I had to choose why I would use Nick's air in the future is very good communication (we texted back and forth) and being upfront with pricing and it never changing. Best hvac tech we've seen. We live in east Allen near the border of Lucas and Chuck took the time to come out multiple times. At first to fix a few issues and then we decided to just replace everything since it is all 20 years old. He was so kind and explained everything in detail. When we told him our heat went out he was able to come out 2 days later with all the equipment and crew to replace our systems. So quick and considerate of our family. He was so kind to our lil girl too, 9 months old. The biggest smile I've seen too. Just loved working with him and so excited about our BRAND NEW systems. My mom recently did business with a different HVAC company (not Nick). Mom has been screwed out of a large amount of money by the other company....her (new) a/c system is still not functional, and the new furnace is incorrectly sized. The owner of that company is attempting to extort more money from her and refuses to fix the problems they are responsible for. Mom and I have documented issues that have taken place throughout the service work. In an effort to understand the situation from another (more well rated and experienced) professional perspective, I decided to contact different HVAC companies to get their insight if they were willing. I did not expect much since we did not hire them originally. Nick was the first one I called. I shared the issues with Nick and I was blown away by his level of service and comprehensive knowledge. Nick was sympathetic and helpfully explained regulatory processes and HVAC system requirements. He told me how he would have handled the situation from the get-go to the finish. It reconfirmed my thoughts that the original company mom hired was unprofessional, dishonest, and inexperienced. Nick had nothing to gain from our phone call, as a bulk of the work had already been "completed" by the other company (with problematic results). Yet, he took around 20 minutes of his time to help me understand everything. I truly wish mom had used Nick instead. If we have HVAC service work needs in the future, we will definitely hire Nick!
