    #3 with Potato Pancakes

My friends and I have been coming to Nick's since it opens. The restaurant is very clean and it's not loud like many of the others in the area. There are soft booths and window shades that dampen the sound. Wait staff are super nice and the kitchen staff are quick getting your food made and out. I go to order is the #3 that comes with eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, potato pancakes served with sour cream and apple sauce, and toast. Nick's continues to be on "My Keepers List"

Home away from home! Nicks has been a staple in our weekend routine since we moved to Leander last year. The servers are consistently sweet and accommodating, Nick the owner is always there to greet the guests and the food never disappoints. The food always needs a little salt and pepper for our liking but to me that's to accommodate anyone that comes in to dine. Our food always comes out quick and tastes fresh! We get plain coffee when we come and it never stops flowing the entire time we're eating. Skip the big chain breakfast spots and try nicks's!

Fast service. Local spot with a pretty good menu that has lunch specials and regular dishes to choose from. The food portion is good and generous! We like this good family owned place. Don't skip their onion rings!

Massive and generous portions! Quick service and attentive staff. Pancakes were soft and fluffy. They've got the BIGGEST onion rings know to man, I think. Corned beef hash was tasty (has diced green bell pepper in em) and it was tasty.

Food is excellent and SUBSTANTIAL! Service is relatively quick and VERY friendly. Ambiance- quiet and pleasant. We have this place as a to-go-place when we are unsure where to go for a nice lunch.

This is a wonderful café in Leander. I've enjoyed breakfasts and lunch here, both in restaurant and to-go. Biscuits and gravy come with a large serving of gravy (yay!). Eggs have been cooked just right, French toast cooked to perfection. The BLT has a generous serving of bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Finally, the baklava is delicious! Ten out of ten! Service here is terrific. Servers don't hover, but are always on top of your needs. One thing to note: the rewards program is tied to credit card payments. So if you use cash, your account won't get credited.

We came to Nick's Breakfast and Coffee on a Sunday morning with our 4-month-old and luckily arrived just before the rush, so we didn't have to wait for a table. Our waitress (I didn't catch her name, but she had several piercings) was absolutely fabulous--attentive, friendly, and made the experience that much better. Full 5 stars for her! My husband ordered the Meat Lovers Skillet and enjoyed it. I had the Eggs Benedict with a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy were good, but unfortunately the Eggs Benedict missed the mark. The hollandaise sauce had no flavor at all--it tasted like it hadn't been seasoned, and I'm not sure if it wasn't made from scratch or just prepared without salt. Everything else, though, was solid and enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant breakfast spot with great service.

Just a huge omelette mess with no flavor except greasy hash browns.

I was so hungry for an omelette. Ordered an omelet that had cheese, ham, onions, and hash browns. The hash browns are actually inside the omelette. It comes with a bread. The omelette was HUGE! It was falling off of the plate! Maybe 8" x 12"? And it came out quickly. But it had a lot of brown on it, especially on the ends/edges. I hate brown (burnt) eggs. It was my fault tho, I usually order eggs 'soft' and I forgot this time. As I dug in, the cheddar cheese (I was suppose to get my choice of cheese), ham and onion were there, but the hash browns overtook the whole thing. They were very greasy and slightly cool, no flavor. I was not a fan. Needless to say I did not eat very much of it. I turned my attention to my bread choice. I ordered an english muffin. Is it customary to NOT toast the english muffin? Aaack. I mean, the bread is toasted, why not the EM? The coffee was good tho and I asked for a little cup of milk for my coffee which I got. I'm not a fan of Coffee Mate or half and half in those little cups. And the price was great for what you get.

The service was excellent once again. The food is fresh and cooked well. I got rye toast this time and it was the Jewish one verse marble which I prefer. Lots of crisp bacon and hashbrowns. The restaurant is clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. This morning was a little cool but this afternoon it will be warmer. So a great place to have breakfast if you are in the area.

First, I always appreciate the option for outdoor seating, which this place has. I appreciate that you can order breakfast while they are open. I am a breakfast all day kinda gal. Haha. The place is fairly cute and has plenty of seating. I ordered the country skillet and enjoyed it once it cooled down, it was very hot. The eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly as I wanted them cooked. The prices are decent. They have both Vanilla and Hazelnut flavored creamers here, which is another big win here. The server we had was friendly.

Alright, I can't deny, I woke up this morning thinking of breakfast here at Nicks. I absolutely love their value breakfast menu for $9.49. Today I enjoyed 1 egg, 2 hotcakes, 1 bacon and one of their delicious breakfast sausage. Service is always top notch, clean tables and endless coffee. The owner, Nick himself came by to great us and bless us. Can't understand why I love to review this place. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

A great, down-to-earth brunch place in quiet Leander! I managed to make it out here with my BF who had been dying to go since it opened. We came by on a Sunday for a late breakfast, and didn't have to wait too long for a seat even though there was a busy crowd that morning! They offer cappuccinos which is nice, but my cup seemed to hold onto a bitter flavor. The portions are LARGE, so come with an appetite or expect to have a good amount of food leftover. The food was flavorful and delicious overall! I especially liked the crispiness of the hashbrowns. The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Next time I'm hungry and north of Austin, I don't mind visiting Nick's again!

What a great addition to Leander!! Food and staff is always great! They have a good selection and portions are good size. It's a great place to grab a good meal.

Came in hungry, left questioning every other country fried steak I've ever eaten--because this one just ruined the competition. Crispy, tender, smothered in perfection... easily the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt illegal how good it was. Like dessert disguised as breakfast in the best way possible. And don't sleep on the strawberry cream cheese pancakes--they're the kind of good that makes you pause mid-bite and rethink your life choices. Then there are the bacon twists... I don't even have the words. Just order them. Trust me. Shoutout to Olivia, our server--absolute rockstar. Super friendly, on point, and made the whole experience even better. Bottom line: every time we come here, it's a win. Great food, great vibes, great people. If you leave hungry, that's on you.

The good news is there are several places that have waitlists and there are even some places that take reservations so if you're planning includes a time that's likely to attract a lot of diners. I would suggest that would be the way to decide your destination. We did in fact, use the waitlist Sunday at Perky Beans. It allowed us to see how many parties were in front of us and advised that we would be texted when our table was ready. We waited about a half hour in our vehicle until we were texted and then headed in and we were seated immediately. Junny was our server. She seated us and gave us menus. I ordered a Hazelnut Coffee and a Virgin Mary(bloody Mary without the alcohol). My granddaughter ordered Water. We took a few minutes looking over the menus. There were quite a few options. Lots of tempting items, but it's hard for me to turn down biscuits and gravy since I love homemade biscuits and unfortunately mine don't turn out-2 eggs and home fried potatoes accompanied that. My granddaughter ordered the " sample the Eggs Benedict," which offered her the option of choosing two half Benedicts offered-which is a great way to determine your preference. She also opted for the home fried potatoes. Right about then Junny went and got my Virgin Mary, which they had really done up nicely! It was every bit as pretty as the alcoholic version with a nice crisp celery, stick, and a Gerkin pickle, Green olive and fresh Orange section. It was very tasty. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. It was very busy and I think it's difficult to manage the coffee side of the café along with the dining room side especially on a very busy Sunday. (That is why I deducted one star from our rating.) It did appear that they had adequate service staff, of course we couldn't observe the kitchen area so not sure how many cooks. We did enjoy the restaurant as a whole and we do plan to return to order some of the other delicious offerings on the menu. Fantastic to have a great brunch option right in Leander!!!

For Mardi Gras there was a delicious Swamp Attack Energy drink that blew my mind! It was awesome! Walk in and talk to the owner. He's so personable and helpful. Clearly, he has helped me make a decision many times. There is a drive thru available; however, there is also a decent amount of parking in this small shopping center. So I told my husband about it and we just went through the drive thru. I always get an iced drink, and my husband ordered it correctly ( I was sitting right next to him) and when we got to the window they handed us a hot coffee. No biggie, we just said oh it was supposed to be iced. Mix ups happen. And instead of just fixing the mistake, the man asked if he was sure that we ordered ice? And my husband assured him he did... which to me was a little weird. Pointing the finger at us like we ordered wrong lol. The man gave my husband a dirty look, like somehow his mistake burdened him.. and when my husband received the new coffee, it was literally the hot coffee, they made by mistake, poured over ice (picture attached). You can completely taste the difference. I gotta tell you, I'm a former barista and this would NEVER fly anywhere I worked. It tastes gross and loses the entire integrity of the drink. I'm not sure if this place is just too stingy to fix their mistake? Maybe their money is tight and they can't spare a mess up on their end? That's the only thing I can think of to why this would ever happen...So strange.

Like I feel like some places just care about giving you your order, but they feel like they care about you loving your order. Just super nice in general. And I really appreciate them asking how I normally like my drinks, like on the sweeter side or not. Because I do enjoy my drinks on the sweeter side and that really makes it or breaks it for me when it comes to coffee. I was also curious about their aguas frescas, which they change flavors on rotation. I asked them what flavor they had and I was expecting like piña or fresas, your typical flavors etc. But it was raspberry turmeric! They also let me try a delicious sample before I decided it was a caffeine type of morning. I was sad they were out of matcha though, but I ended up going for a bourbon orange latte, just because it sounded so unique. And it was so good! Perfect sweetness level for me, super creamy, and the orange flavor came through so well without being too overpowering or sickly. Not to mention, the prices aren't that bad. Like even for the specialty drinks, I've seen way more expensive. That being said, it's not exactly cheap either. But I would say it's worth it. Definitely plan on going back and hopefully they'll have matcha then!
