First off.. the customer service is horrible. I've been coming here for 3+ years and they treat me like garbage. Rita is the rudest employee while Kim the owner isn't much better. They have horrible attitudes and overcharge on every service. They treat you like you don't matter and when you ask a question about anything, they talk bad about you in their language. Anh is horrible person too, she doesn't pay attention to the customers and will whack you when you are waiting to get a pedicure. I would never come back ever again. read more

Don't rely on Kim to book appointments she sucks. I've been going here for years always dealt directly with Rita she's amazing many of the nail techs there are, they are amazing people. However Kim as a manager sucks she doesn't care about her customers or meeting their needs or if they are happy with their service. I will never go back to this place and highly recommend you don't deal with Kim. She doesn't honor appointments or apologizes for her mistakes, she's terrible. read more

Mia did an amazing job with my nails. I normally get the no chip but wanted to try the gel dip. I was told this was actually better for the nails so why not try it. It is more expensive but well worth it. They are harder unlike the no chip. I prefer this since my nails are weaker. If you are looking for great service this place is great. Terrible time. The "Manager" Kim did an awful job on my gel overlay which was suppose to be a simple pink nude. I made an appointment at 2:00pm. Didn't get seen til 2:35pm. Then halfway doing my nails, Kim said for me to go start on my pedicure. Uh...okay. The lady who did my toes was awful and left a hair under the nail polish . Then went back to doing my overlay but after she had me wait in the chair for another 5 minutes. Thank you Groupon for a $19 no-chip manicure! This contemporary nail salon is located in the same complex as Jewel and Big Lots. I believe they are right next to a Payless. Upon entering I was greeted by a gentleman asking what service I needed. When I told him I was getting a no-chip he knew who I was suppose to be placed with and had me sit at one of tables while the associate was getting her things ready. I believe my nail tech's name is Lisa, I could be wrong, she didn't talk much, however, she did an AMAZING jobs on my no-chip! I'm a very picky customer, growing up my mom always did my nails and she's usually the only that does, but being that she lives 1800 miles away it's not that easy anymore. I'm one of those customers that will stare as you paint and swipe the brush each time and check out each hand when you're done with it. Oh and check to see if you're close to my cuticles. And Lisa she nailed it right on the mark! My nails look perfect and it's been over a week now and my no-chip looks just as good as day one! When I went in my nail technician wasn't too happy. We had a miscommunication on the color and she was getting frustrated. I wasn't asked what shape I wanted or if I wanted my nails cut/evened out, she just did what she was comfortable with. My no chip was done over my cuticles therefore resulting in lifting and peeling not even a whole week after getting them done. This is what they currently look like after a week and two days of wear. I work in an office setting and never had issues with no chip (when I went to a different salon). Definitely not worth the price they're asking for. read more

My favorite nail tech is Lee. He really pays attention to detail and honestly is extremely fast yet his work is excellent. He was honest about never doing an ombré nail, but kindly asked me if he can try and at the end he did them perfect! I love that he tried and still did a great job! I give this four stars all for Lee but the manager was not my favorite. Not only did she take FOREVER to do a fill in she did a poor job on my color. My nails did not look smooth and you can see gaps between the color. When I asked if she can fix that she got frustrated and tried removing the color from all five of my nails. She's the manager and I expected her to be the best but she disappointed me and I will never go to her again. Others like her but I didn't have a pleasant experience with her. read more

Had a 4pm appointment and did not get taken till almost 5 and then was rushed to finish my pedi because the lady's other appointment arrived and then got handed off to someone else then he rushed because his appointment got there. Couldn't get a good experience even when i had my own appointment. What a disappointment you go somewhere hoping you can have a nice and relaxing time and that did not happen. When this place was not as busy it was great they took their time and actually gave you a good experience. Now not at all. I liked Jennifer but when she started rushing because here next appoint hd arrived ruined my experience. Lee was also doing a good job and samething his mext appointment arrived and he sarted rushing. I had to wait almost an hour after my appointment and the others did not which is wrong. Ever since they were a small place with only a couple tables and a couple workers (2015) I've loved their service but my recent visit was not great at all, let alone the quality of my nails. I got a full set last time I went about 2 weeks ago and the lady that was taking care of me didn't take her time with my nails at all, she didn't cut my nails, she just started putting them on. I love coming here for my pedicures! They have a lot of options for different spa treatments at an affordable price. I usually get the gel pedicure because the nail polish lasts so much longer. The staff is always super friendly and they offer everyone a water while they wait. The wait is very long sometimes but I understand why, they have a lot of clients! For the last 2 years now, I have been getting the dip powder done to my nails, which I love and have never had anything negative to say. But yesterday my experience was different. Of course, the technician it was my first time seeing her there and of course her first time doing my nails. But I wasn't impressed and I didn't like her work. WORST EYEBROW WAXING OF MY ADULT LIFE!!! I am so upset with myself for cheaping out on my eyebrows. That is a mistake I will never make again. This salon is super close to my mom's house, so I thought I would run over and get a badly needed pedicure. It's cute and conveniently located across from a really nice Jewel. My pedicure was nice. It included a hot towel wrap and a quick leg massage. She put the polish on way too thick, though. My big toes smudged from my sandals before I could get home. That was annoying, but I was a million times more upset about my eyebrows. My brows needed to be cleaned up a little so I last minute decided to add a brow wax. I have pretty nice eye brows, so I am a little particular when it comes to waxing them. I specifically said "DO NOT THIN THEM OUT. Please only clean up the middle and a little underneath so there is an arch. I DO NOT WANT THEM THIN." 5 very painful minutes later and I now have chola eyebrows. I almost made her stop the minute I realized she was double-dipping the wax stick into the pot (this means all of the customers share the same wax and what was touching someone's bikini area or some guy's back is now touching my face.) She asked me if I also wanted a lip wax and I immediately said no because I didn't want butt wax near my mouth! The wax was also way too hot and I have serious redness still. And after me saying very clearly 3 times not to thin them out, she made them pencil thin and completely uneven. I seriously lost my shit as soon as I looked into the mirror. A manager/owner came to see what was wrong and I explained what had just happened. She realized how fugly my brows were looking and she evened them out, but there was obviously nothing that could be done to make them back to their original thickness. I refused to pay for my brows and I left no tip for my pedicure (same person). This just happened 11/6/2016, so I know they know who I am and who ruined my eyebrows. She needs to be completely re-trained in waxing before you let her touch another client. And NONE of you should be double-dipping your sticks into the wax. GROSS!!! read more

First, I must clarify that I used to love going to the no-frills type of places like this one, but over the years as I got older, I started becoming a spa snob and have my own spa I like to go to for my nails and body waxing by my house..... HOWEVER, about a month ago, I realized that I cannot always plan ahead for the emergency pedis and waxing that come up! I was at work at realized i needed go get my nails cleaned and my waxing done ASAP. unfortunately my spa i usually go to could not take me in last minute, so i decided i'd have to resort to finding a place around work that took walk-ins. Let me tell ya, there are NOT many places around Melrose Park/Franklin Park that have good reviews. I finally found this place and thought I'd try it out. When I got there, it was SUPER busy! it was a thursday evening at around 6:30pm, and there was a large line of people waiting before me already. I almost turned around to leave, but i really had to get this done, so i stayed. luckily I didn't have to wait too long - maybe about 30 mins or so. The technicians don't speak English very well, but that's nothing out of the norm, they are very nice though too. They saw that I was wearing a skirt, and without me asking, they came back with a towel so that when I sat down i wasn't flashing anyone! i thought that was very thoughtful of them :) So, like i said, I've been to many no-frills type nail places before - they do a good job, but you can tell the difference between that and an expensive spa. but Nice Nails II........ WOW! they did an EXCELLENT job! Enough for me to say, that I truly do believe they cleaned my feet a hell of a lot better than my spa back home does! honestly! As for the waxing - they did a lot better than I expected as well, but i probably wouldn't go back there for waxing, since i think my place does a better job in that realm. Anyway, I've already been there for a 2nd time to get a pedicure done, and the 2nd time was even better than the 1st! I used to go to this nail place and they weren't THAT bad, but this time it wasn't the best experience. My original nail place was booked so I came here for a quick fill and no chip color. An older lady did mine, and she literally took her TIME, shaping my nails and when she put the acrylic on it wasn't leveled properly. She would sit there and comment on where I got my nails done before... seems like she was insulted by it or talking about how they didn't do a good job. I don't have a problem with my nails before I walked in here. AGAIN, she continued to talk under her breath about my nails, then it came down to making my nails a coffin shape... she literally could not file my nails to a square... it was always slanted as she kept filing. She seemed to get upset every time I told her, "no, it's slanted"... So the lady next to her took over the filing and finally got it.
