I get mani-pedis all the time, and have been exploring new places. I tried Nice once, and will never go back. The pedicure was brief, painful, and doesn't look nice. The manicure was punctuated by the lady asking me literally every swipe of the nail file if that was "ok". And she didn't even clean under my nails. But the oddest thing is, they slather you in the salon equivalent of Ben-gay. Which hurts like hell after the salt scrub on your legs! I left smelling like an 80 year old and had to shower. read more

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I went to get my gel polish off. She cut me and the shaved off my skin - and still expected me to pay $2 (instead of $5). Once was with the acrylic nail thing- she cranked it way up after it didn't immediately worked, lost control of it, and it spun up and cut me. I was bleeding. The next finger she used the filer and was not gentle AT ALL and shaved off the skin on the side of my finger. They *burned* in the nail polish remover. Long story short I will never go there again. First to cut me, then shave my skin off, and to still charge me? Ridiculous. read more

I LOVE coming here to get my nails done! All the ladies that have done my mani and pedi have been so nice! They also talk to you instead of just sitting there while they do your nails. You also get a free coffee or tea (or if you'd like to stick to just water) while your appointment. They have these stamp cards too, that if you collect enough, you will get 50% of either mani or pedi (depending on the row). They also give shoulder and leg massage with your mani and pedi. Very upset about the service I received here. I went to this salon because my regular salon was booked up and I needed my nails filled before a vacation. What a bad decision. The woman who worked on my nails was (I think) the owner or the manager in charge if nothing else. She was constantly leaving me to answer phones, help other people, and to go into the back for some reason. I wouldn't mind this much if it didn't mean that my nails suffered. They were shaped wrong, she burnt me multiple times, and she got gel and top coat all over my cuticles without fully fixing it. This means that my polish will likely come off early because it will peel off from my skin. read more

While visiting Seattle I tried this place out due to it's high Yelp score and I am giving a 5 as well! The staff was so sweet, started out with offering free soda or water bottle, gave an amazingly gentle but very thorough pedicure and another girl started my manicure while I was still in the pedicure chair. They constantly asked how I was doing, if I needed anything. And the foot/let massage was so relaxing! Just what I needed. I also paid a few extra dollars and got a 10 minute massage on my neck and back and I was floating by the time I walked out of there. She did such a great job on my neck, head, arms, hands. Pros: very polite staff, nice ambiance, good polish selection. They get two stars for this. Cons: made to wait almost an hour before being told they couldn't honor my appointment. I made a pedi appointment to get ready for attending a wedding tomorrow, and ran a few minutes behind due to traffic (I called to let them know) which is on me. I decided to wait when told upon my arrival that a group had walked in and they had no chairs available because they said it would be 15 to 20 minutes tops (though not thrilled that my seat was given away to a walk in when I made an appointment). While I was waiting, several people came in for their pedi appointments and were immediately shown to a chair... And almost an hour later, I was apologetically and politely told that they just don't have time to accommodate me today. I appreciate the offer of a discount if I choose to come back and try again another time, but since this cost me an hour of waiting time plus paid parking and none of the other salons in the area have time to accommodate me today at this point because it's now later in the day, I'm not sure I want to risk it. Maybe I'll try again if I have a spare afternoon with nothing planned and no deadlines to prepare for. read more

Went in on a Sunday with my cousin and we were seated right away. We both got the spa pedicure with regular polish. I had Moon, she was pleasant asked if I wanted anything to drink before she got started. Now for $30 you get a sugar scrub, foot massage, paraffin wax and hot stone massage. It was pretty awesome and I felt really pampered. Unfortunately the actual pedicure was just mediocre. She didn't clean up my cuticles, the polis got on my skin and she didn't clean it up. Then at the end she helped me put my shoes on, said thank you and left. I sat there for 20 min and she never came back, she also didn't hand me the bill before she left. I knew where it was because I saw her coworker put in her basket midway through my pedi. All in all it was an ok experience. I'll probably try a few places before coming back. read more

I went to Nice Nails tonight based on Yelp reviews. All of these 5 stars are accurate. This place is great--very professional and welcoming. It is a family-owned business, and they really seem to care about their clients. The owner's son is like a maitre d. The prices are some of the best in town, but that does not reflect in the quality of the work or the facility, both of which are fabulous. I got a pedi and shellac and opted to the extra massage in the pedi. Both the mani and the pedi are some of the best I have ever received. I am interested to see how long the shellac lasts, because I anticipate it lasting longer than any other I have ever had. The application technique was different than I have had done before, and I think it's better. Love this place, and will definitely be back and bring some friends. read more

This is my first time at this salon, and I just got back from getting a shellac manicure. Right now (until April 31st), they have a deal that is 20% off any nail service from open - 2:30, Monday - Thursday. I was stoked, cause my shellac was only $24. They also gave me a punch card, and the fifth stamp gives me 50% off. They have over 50 CND shellac colors, but none of them were really what I was looking for. So I went with a sheer/natural pink, that turned out really nice looking. When I walked in, it looked like there were only two technicians working, and there were 3 other people in the salon. They removed my old shellac, and then I waited for ~20 minutes while they finished up with other clients. That was fine with me, I was a walk-in, and I wasn't in a rush, and I understand that they were busy. Cindy was my nail technician, and she was great! She really took her time on my cuticles, giving intense detail to them, and they look great. She asked if I wanted my nails filed, cut or just left alone, and I asked her to leave the length, but shape with a file just a bit. And she did exactly that! Too many times, I have said to a technician and they just filed my nails down and down, not leaving any length. So Cindy listening to me was a major plus in my book! I think they give a paraffin wax to manicures (shellac or not), and I asked if it was okay if I didn't have the wax, and she was totally fine with it! She massaged my neck/shoulders/upper back, and holy moly, she knew what she was doing! It was short, of course, but was perfect, and usually I don't like the massage parts. As far as the nail painting, she really took her time, and made sure that all the paint was even on every nail, and reached the edges, etc. Overall, the actual manicure was a great experience! I will definitely wait to see if the shellac fractures or lifts up before 2 weeks. And if I go again, I will ask for Cindy. It may be a good idea to make an appointment or go when you have a couple hours to spare, just in case. read more

When I get a pedicure I don't want only pretty polish, I need legit nail care. Trim, cuticles pushed back, under and around the nail bed cleaned and clipped. You know, actual "nail care." She took great care in making sure all my toe nails were in tip top shape! ....I get a pedi at least once a month so it's not like My toe nails are funky but a lot of places don't take time for actual nail care. Been going here now for a few years and I have to say they are super consistent and really great for the price. This place is really clean and they always have the brand new magazines and a great selection of colors. The basic pedicure comes with a paraffin treatment and stone massage as well as a basic massage and scrub. I never usually have to wait long though I have taken to making appointments after an experience I had where I needed a pedicure in the winter and didn't expect a wait but it happened to be the same weekend if the winter formal for the high school near by. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Don't go here. This place is terrible, don't spend your money here. I went in for a french acrylic set - something I don't indulge in often. On their website, it is listed as $30. I went in and they told me they couldn't do white acrylic, but they could do clear. I told them I wanted white, they made up something about my nail beds and proceed to give me clear anyway. I tell them I want white, again. They say they'll paint it white. She does my eyebrows - not worth the $12 charge, I've been breaking out all day and the bed in the back is literally a child's bed with a white sheet pulled over it. She asks if I want shellac or white paint, I tell her i need them to last because acrylic nails should last 4-6 weeks?? She proceeds to tell me it will be $47 for my nails and when I argue she pretends not to speak english. What? She then paints on the shellac, but doesn't line it up with the acrylic so there's a huge gap and my nails look like they need a fill because they're so messed up. I go on with the pedicure and try to argue with the man at the front. He tells me I messed up, not his staff. He then tries to charge me $95, even though it should have been $75 according to their website. They tell me because I got acrylic and shellac (because they couldn't listen), I have to pay all of it. He pretends not to speak English too. They do 20% off for students, he offers to take $10 off. 20% of 94 is 18, and I have to pull out my calculator to prove it. I haven't even had my nails 12 hours and the shellac gel is already breaking down. They also ask everyone to pay in cash, which is scammy and I will be reporting to the BBB. It's super dirty, they don't listen, upcharge, and do a terrible job. I only went there because my regular salon doesn't do acrylic. Seriously, for anything but acrylic, go to Roosevelt Nail Bar, it's so clean and they're kind and they don't try to scam you. Shame on you, you guys are terrible. I will absolutely never waste my money on your poor services again, and I will be sure to tell all of my friends to never return as well. read more

I've been here a total of three times. The first two times I was pretty happy with the results. This last time though my nails didn't look good at all and they looks worse than when I paint them. They were filed unevenly, there was tons of bubbles in my shellac that she didn't pop and she had drew the white tips on instead of drawing them on and then using acetone to swipe them line to make them uniform. It was really disappointing considering it was $38.00. I tried to tell her that but she didn't understand what I was saying so I just had to leave with it like this. read more

This place goes above and beyond with service. Right as you walk in, the door automatically opens for you -- WHAT, crazy right? The only guy working was super nice! He even went out of his way to put on my shoes for me before I left. They also offer complimentary drinks before you begin. I got a pedicure and they had a huge selection of nail polishes (including shellac). They really took their time during the spa treatment - really enjoyed the hot rocks and when they put a plastic bag of liquid on each foot (sounds weird, but it felt nice). The only reason I'm giving them a 4 is because she didn't clean the nail polish around my toes that well. :/ Also, we scheduled appointments but had to wait 15-20 minutes... I like going here because they offer a great student discount and do a good job, but I can't come here anymore. The wait time is awful. Even if you have an appointment, it can take an hour to get seated and even more time waiting around for a technician. I've made appointments days in advance and come into a shop full of people and them telling me they have to cancel my appointment because they are too busy. If you are not going to honor appointments, don't make them. I can't keep coming back here in my limited free time to wait hours and sometimes not even getting in. read more

I downloaded this app and made an account just to make this review and if that alone doesn't convince you of how bad this place is, I hope my review will. I came here to have a relaxing mani/pedi, but instead I endured half an hour of women talking badly about my body. A little back story: I prefer not to shave my legs as it is time consuming as well as excruciatingly painful when the hair grows back and as a woman, I understand that is not the social norm. However, this does not justify the demeaning way they spoke of me. They thought I could not understand what they were saying because they were speaking in Vietnamese but my step father is Vietnamese and I learned from a young age. The women even went out of their way to ask me if I was Vietnamese to make sure I didn't understand, and of course I played it off as if I didn't. On top of this, the woman who did my toes forced me to pay an extra $5 WITHOUT MY CONSENT even though I specified the exact amount I wanted to tip the woman who did my finger nails (who only cleaned my cuticles and produced hang nails. I even had to file several of my nails myself). I suggest looking elsewhere to invest your money, this establishment is absolutely abhorrent. read more

I was very pleased with my pedicure at Nice Nails and Spa. Pro Tip: Despite what The Google maps may tell you, Nice Nails and Spa is not located on The Ave, but rather on Roosevelt just south of 63rd (as an actual reading of the address would suggest). After another yelper noted how well they'd treated her ingrown toenail, I figured this place was at least worth a shot. Blessed/burdened with gigantic big toes, I have the most ingrown-prone tootsies imaginable. After working diligently on one of my big toes, pausing now and then to make sure she wasn't hurting me, the technician was able to do a major cleanup job on my nails almost painlessly. When I exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, you are magical!" she just replied with a shrug and said, "It's my job." Love her! Love this place! I'll be back again and again and agin. Bonus: My polish survived the dreaded concrete-stair-scrape this afternoon with barely a scuff. Awesome! read more

I have been here a few times based on a recommendation from a friend. She wasn't kidding, they are great. This is the first time someone cared enough to recognize the cracks in my toe nails and to inform me it was due to the build-up of the nail. Moon was helping me and she used the drill to shave it down which helped remove the cracks and smooth out the nail. She also put good effort into I went back and it was another great experience by Moon! I also got shellac in my nails in my first visit by Jolie. I am uber critical of having my finger nails done, because I usually get the one person in the salon that isn't good at nails or just don't care about how good they do. Therefore, I do my nails at home since I usually do a better job. This time, I Jolie did do a fantastic job. Until she filed my nails after she put on the shellac top coat. This made my nails peel within two days. That is the only reason why I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5. I would recommended not filing nails after the polish has been applied. read more

I've tried this place three times because there are such good reviews and I think it just depends on who you work with. I've gotten really subpar manicures and pedicures (one pedicure, three manicures) and every time I have been disappointed. Uneven nail filing; polish doesn't go close enough to the cuticle and when I mention it, the fix is even worse; the top coat isn't put on evenly, so it looks lumpy especially on the edges.
