For the past few years since working from home full-time, I have been prioritizing self-care: consistent movement, stretching, chiropractic care, sports therapy, acupuncture, facials, meditation, you name it! Unfortunately around the time I started full-time remote work, my massage spot at the time stopped taking my insurance. It has been challenging finding a provider that takes my insurance AND does not have a long waitlist. Anyways, a few months ago, I slightly pulled my back during our move to the new apt. I decided to try Elements Massage on Holman mainly due to its convenience of being close to home. I was scheduled to see Emily, and have been seeing her since then. What I appreciate about Emily is that she takes the time to educate you on not only the cause of pain and tension, but ways to improve your self-care at home: utilizing ice packs, stretches, salt soaks, etc. Incorporating these in my own routines has made a huge improvement in my post recovery workouts and back/neck tension. At my last session, I was feeling so tired that I told Emily I felt like I will pass out on the table. I let Emily do her magic and she delivered giving me nice, relaxing full-body massage. It was such a great treat, and a testimony, on how much my back/neck tension has improved in few months. I enjoyed it so much that I booked a 90 min session with Emily next month. While you can book single sessions, the membership at Elements is such a great deal. I went with the $99/month for one 60 min session which can carry over, gift to a friend, or you can pay a little extra to extend the time. Honestly, this is one of the best investments you can do for your body and I couldn't be more enthusiastic to recommend Elements Massage. read more

I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now. I have had three different therapists & they have all been great. I need very deep pressure, and Elements offers therapists with every level of pressure so you can find exactly what you need. For deep pressure, I definitely recommend Jay! She's very knowledgeable about the muscular & skeletal systems, & is able to treat the specific areas needed with high accuracy and a concentrated precision that will leave your muscles wondering what just happened. She's very professional, courteous, & conscientious of your time, & I always feel safe when I'm getting a massage from Jay. Cannot recommend them enough!! read more

I'm the type of person that needs a lot of work on my body. This location is known to have many of their therapists booked for weeks because of how good they are. I was scheduled to see James for an hour massage and he specializes in deep and firm pressure massages. When he asked what I needed to get done, I felt that he listened to my needs and I felt that I can safely communicate what adjustments were needed when it comes to adjusting the pressure during the session. After my massage, I felt that a lot of the built up tension on my neck eased a ton. No wonder James is booked out for weeks! read more

I never had regular massages; now I can't imagine never having them! I decided to try the membership at Elements on Holman because of the cost-savings. The quality of the massage therapists and the overall professionalism is outstanding. The business is extremely clean and they are very careful about safety and sanitation, which I feel says a lot. Scheduling is super easy and office staff are polite, gracious and professional and really set the tone for the experience. There is a wide range of choices of therapists by speciality, length of massage, etc. Massages can be customized with enhancements such as aroma therapy, Himalayan salt stones, cupping, etc., I've had massages with both male and female therapists and have been very pleased. I now book with the same therapist regularly and they provide you follow up notes and make notes of your preferences in your record for future reference. I also know this business and the team there has been a long time supporter of a local elementary school and has participated for years in a major fundraiser, which is how I discovered the business in the first place. They say to arrive early but said that they never told me to arrive early. I sat for over 30 mins before anyone even talked to me. I had to ask when I would be seen. I overheard them talking with another guest. They told the guest that they have never been there even though the guest said they had been there multiple times. They then said they would only do a 60 min massage even though the guest booked 90 mins. UPDATE Jenni is amazing! The people at the front desk are incompetent. read more

Their booking system has issue that the online app won't distinguish 60min session and 90min session slot. I usually book a month ahead. But every time I booked a 60min session online, their assistant asked me to extend the session by adding cost or canceled my reservation since my schedule fell into 90min slot. It's extremely difficult to make reservation and the process is extremely annoying. The customer service is disappointing too. read more

I can't believe a business can be run like this. I had been dying to receive a prenatal massage and was so happy to hear that they had someone available for both a deep tissue and prenatal massage.... I spoke with the therapist over the phone to confirm multiple times that the therapist would be able to do both super deep massage (I have been having pains in my shoulder so bad and massaging them out myself) AND was certified for prenatal ... As I was on the way and looked forward to getting this needed massage and had considered even doing the membership to make weekly massages for the remainder of my pregnancy ... I couldn't find the spot and decided to call Elements to ask if I was in the right the location. They proceeded to tell me the following.. "Sorry, we also meant to call you but we can't take you at 2PM. The therapist is not able to do prenatal massage...." Wow. Simply wow. After confirming multiple times, and driving all the way there, no one even bothered to call me to tell me to not come. As a pregnant woman filled with hormones and who desperately needed this massage - this was so so disappointing. read more

I found Elements when I had a sudden onset of severe neck and shoulder pain. I went to a Chiropractor and didn't get any relief, so the next day had a massage with Jayme. I used the $30 off a new client and ended up getting the monthly membership which charges your card monthly for a massage but at the discounted rate ($69 for 1 hour). The experience was incredible. She clearly listened to my concerns and her practice and massage was exactly what I needed and asked for. Her technique was some of the best I have ever experienced and she gave the perfect amount of attention and pressure to the areas I was having pain. About two days later all of the pain subsided. I just went back 3 weeks later, to try and prevent the pain from recurring, and got a full body massage this time. Again, Jayme was incredible. Wonderful touch and technique. If you have a Groupon or other offer- this is a great place for a quality massage. The office is clean, well lit and has friendly staff. The massage quality is good and does provide value to overall well being of the body. The downsides to this club though is they have at the front desk (which I noticed at checkout) suggested tip donations going up over $20 a visit- this is a very high amount for a therapeutic massage center. The office already charges a high amount for a massage and does NOT have a spa like setting but wants a Ritz Carlton level tip which is just not justified. read more

Due to some unexpected emergency, the therapist could not make it so I had to wait for an additional hour and a half before getting a massage from a different person. The massage itself was relaxing but was not as deep and thorough as I would have liked (don't remember the massuese's name). The Elements location in Renton was a bit better from what I can recall. I saw a deal on Groupon for an 80 min deep tissue massage. And as a huge massage junkie, I quickly researched the place to see if it seemed decent and ended up purchasing their deal right away. Even though Elements Therapeutic Massage is really a chain brand, there's a local store's page so you can look up info about different massage therapists to get an idea of the pressure level that you may need for your session.Scheduling an appointment was easy. You can pick the date/time along with the massage duration/therapist for your on appointment all online (or you can call them as well). The spa is located in the strip mall and parking was super easy (in the same lot as QFC). The lobby is small and by no mean and upscale spa environment, but the service was courteous and I did feel some calmness/serenity when I walked in (there was a small water streaming machine running and and the layout and color of a very solid looking set of furniture definitely helped. The private rooms where they do the massages are also very clean and definitely do not come across as cheap, sketchy massage place. It's really more like a functional, good quality massage type of environment. My massage therapist, Rebecca, was really solid and had very strong, consistent pressure (which I really wanted) throughout the session. I was positively surprised that Rebecca was very observant. She was able to tell how dehydrated my body was (I drink very little water...not a good habit at all!). Even though I already applied body oil after a shower right before I came to Elements, Rebecca mentioned that she could really tell how dehydrated my body was due to the very tight skin and the fact that she didn't even need to wipe off the extra oil after my massage session (even though she normally has to do it in her other massage sessions for other clients). Overall, a very decent massage place with excellent value. No hard-sells or pressure to tip after the session ended at all (although anyone who receives a massage definitely should tip!). Would like to come back here again if there's a good deal or if I am ever around that area again. read more

After over a week of terrible shoulder pain that kept me up at night, I finally scheduled my first professional (1 hour) massage in close to a decade. I was able to get an appointment in the next day and found that their new client rate was pretty reasonable but I still didn't know if they'd be able to have that much impact on my shoulder pain. My massage therapist was Faith and she was fantastic. I really appreciate that they take the time to learn what your pain-points or concerning areas are. Faith was nice to chat with throughout the massage, and she applied just the right amount of pressure. My shoulder feels MUCH, much better. She was also very knowledgeable about what muscle in that area was causing the issue. She took the time to apply a hot rag to my lower back as my muscles were very stiff. In the last six months my body has been through a lot as I had surgery and dealt with some health issues. This totally relaxed me and felt so amazing. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, too. I got asked when I got in and when I left if I wanted some water, cold or room temp, which was a nice touch. I signed up for their monthly wellness program so I can get at least one massage a month as part of my attempt to take better care of myself. I have a standard 9-5 office job and it's easy to forget the toll it can take on your back, neck, and shoulders while you sit at a desk for most of the day. Can't wait to go back here next month! I have met my massage soul mate. He was amazing. I'm actually still so relaxed from my massage that I'm having trouble coming up with the right words to use ;) that is hands down the best massage I've ever had. From the first moment he started massaging my back, he found every tense point and worked until I was completely relaxed. I will be coming back to see him as soon as possible. Scheduling is easy (online) and confirmed via phone and email. I've settled on my favorite masseuse (go Joshua!) but I've been pleased with others that I've tried. I'm really disappointed in my experience scheduling a massage here. 5 days after I scheduled a 60 minute massage, I was contacted via text message and told I either had to pay for a 90 minute massage or move to a different time. I was not able to use the new time offered and asked to keep my original appointment, which they claimed they could not do because of social distancing. This really feels like a bait and switch to offer a 60 minute appointment, show it as available, take credit card information, send the customer a booking confirmation, and then later attempt to coerce an extended 90 minute appointment. read more

Wow. I have been three times now and each time has been incredible. (Therapists were Autumn, Jonathan, and Someone who gave such an incredible massage my mind was wiped clean so I can't remember his name.) After 7+ years as a client at a therapeutic massage clinic I wasn't sure what to expect with a chain establishment, but I have been consistently impressed with both the professionalism and proficiency from therapists. I have been especially pleased that I wasn't pushed to join as a member and after my third amazing visit I finally realized I'd be getting 90 minute massages for the same cost if I joined. The only con is that they do not accept insurance but I assume that is part of what keeps their prices low. (And they do have an "insurance manager" who will provide itemized receipts so you can navigate reimbursement with your insurance if it's an option.) I would prefer to stick with my LMP that I've been seeing for years but a move and a new baby make scheduling tough. The later evening hours sealed the deal for me. Never again will I settle for the overpriced "relaxation" massages at Gene Juarez. read more

I've been a member for about 3 years and I've been to several excellent therapists at Elements on Holman road. Recently, I've found a favorite therapist: Jayme. I highly recommend her. All of the therapists I have been to are skilled and professional. Scheduling and check in is simple, and the facility is tidy and quiet. Elements is great because when you schedule you can arrange for the type of massage therapist you are looking for - for massage style and pressure/intensity. I've gone here for back and neck problems as well as just a relaxing massage. I also had a few pregnancy massages while I was pregnant. The membership is great because you have a guaranteed massage already paid for and you can save them if you miss a month. They also offer nice monthly specials and holiday promotions. read more

While it would be nice to take advantage of the organized online appointment system, this business requires extensive personal information before they will book any appointments and insist on keeping your credit card information on file. For this reason, they won't get my business. I would be fine with leaving a deposit (ideally with paypal or some other means of secure transactions), but I'm not okay with any small business having access to all my information. I came here with their special promotion $10 off the regular price (50-min massage). It's located in a plaza. There are tons of paking. Parking is always a good / big bonus. In addition, this is the neighborhood I am familiar with. As far as interior (their facility) goes, it's very clean and very relaxing. Since I work out quite bit, they recommended me the deep tissue massage. My therapist was Rachel. She did a great job on relieve my stress from my muscles and gave me a lot of stretch tips. DO NOT TELL THEM YOU PURCHASED A MASSAGE THROUGH LIVING SOCIAL. I called to schedule an appointment and everything was going smoothly- had a date and time set with a specific therapist when I was asked how I heard about them. I mentioned that I had stumbled across them via Living Social, when the person on the other end kind of stuttered and told me that their computer had just frozen and glitched out. Mysteriously, when the computer rebooted (yea, right), the therapist that I was originally scheduled with no longer had an opening for me. It was obvious that they are trying to funnel people who buy a massage on a deal site to newer therapists, which I understand, but I HATE being lied to. Anyway, I showed up for the massage, which wasn't anything special. The therapist was very nice- "peppy"and friendly- but didn't apply enough lotion and it honestly felt like a rug burn at times. I've never had to ask a therapist to apply more lotion during a massage because it seems kind of simple that if your hands are g-r-i-n-d-i-n-g on a persons skin, there is a problem. On the way out, there was no attempt to sell me a membership. Not even an attempt to reschedule an appointment. So, I'm assuming there is a serious break-down in communication/training from management and front desk staff. If you are still convinced that you need to go here, just be smart and don't tell them you are using any sort of voucher until after the massage is over. read more

The website is put together and after careful consideration chose my massage practitioner. One day before my massage I was switched from the therapist I chose to someone else, who I later learned only had one month of massage experience. The staff wasn't very welcoming and the vibe is quiet and dark but the energy of the place doesn't really feel like a relaxing spa, it's more like waiting for the dentist. In a 110 minute massage this person only managed to touch my back and neck and it wasn't very relieving. I don't blame the inexperienced massage practitioner, but I question a business that wouldn't provide more training to a new person. I was super bummed that this experience wasn't better, it seemed like it would have been great. read more

After having a family member pass away, I felt incredibly tense and my shoulders were in awful knots. I made an appointment with Elements because of its proximity to my home and it's strong reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I went. From the moment I entered the spa, I had a good experience. I will admit, I was slightly concerned when I pulled up -- it's in a strip mall, next to a QFC (not what I think of when I think "day spa"). There's no fancy "relaxation room" with nuts, fruits and other snacks and water with sliced cucumbers and warm tea. There are no fancy locker rooms for you to shower and no plush terry robe for you to change into to help the relaxation process begin. There are no steam rooms or saunas, no overstuffed chairs with ottomans. This is a no frills massage therapy chain that offers nice packages to its guests (see below) and decent massages. When I entered, I was immediately greeted by a polite receptionist, who asked what I was looking for. We chatted briefly, she told me about several different therapists and their "style" of massage. She thought I was in the right hands, since I had taken a gamble earlier that day and scheduled an appointment with French, my therapist. She proceeded to tell me about the "wellness program," which are packages that you can purchase to receive hefty discounts. Disclaimer: I have only seen one therapist, French, who is fantastic. She spoke quietly (what a treat -- hey, this is for me to relax, I don't want chatty Kathy waking me out of a near slumber!), made sure that I was completely comfortable, and really paid close attention to my needs. She asked about problem spots, what I was hoping to accomplish that day and any health issues. I left that afternoon, feeling like butter, so relaxed that I nearly felt intoxicated. I would easily give Elements 5 stars if it had that "oasis" or gorgeous "relaxation room." It does not. The prices are competitive and reasonable (especially when you sign up for the wellness program, and first time customers receive a heavily discounted rate), but the regular, non-discounted costs seem a little high to not have that pretty room to help me TRULY relax. I will definitely go back to Elements, but I will continue my search for that ultimate "day spa" with all the little extras. read more

I've been recieving weekly massages here since I was t-boned in an automobile accident. Let me first off saying that Kevin at the front desk is absolutely wonderful! He is always cheery, and when I first called to schedule an appointment he recommended Jeff to me, and now I'm hooked. Kevin was very helpful and knowledgable, helped me through the process of my registration there and getting everything set up for my PIP account, its always a pleasure to walk in and see him sitting at the front desk! As far as the massages go, Jeff will work with you and focus on whatever you tell him to. I go in for my neck, left shoulder, and my back since the accident. I leave this place feeling euphoric and relaxed everytime. The atmosphere is relaxing, the rooms are nicely heated (which is great for me since I am always cold). Elements is an okay place to get a reasonably priced massage. The front desk staff are always courteous, and the masseuses are always polite. It's a chain, so you can expect your experience to be consistent when you go. Pluses: There is always almost some same-day availability because they have a fairly large staff. They give you bottled water and make payment easy. The massages are usually to-the-minute they were scheduled for. Minuses: It's hard to expect someone who does this all day every day to be passionate and give you a truly individualized experience. I always feel a bit of pressure to leave the room somewhat quickly as I know they schedule these massages back-to-back. In short, if you can get a Yelp deal or a Groupon and just need some basic relaxing, it's a fine place to go. Just don't expect a mind-blowing massage or to get to spend a lot of time talking about what you want out of the experience. read more

I've fallen in love with place and here's why! I can't exercise, stretch or move properly because Ive had major back problems my whole life with a combination of scoliosis and life as a hair stylist. Anyone who is a hairstylist or close to someone who is, they know it's A LOT of stress on the body. Scoliosis is very embarrassing and the strain it does on the bones and muscles can be unbearable at times. So different then other massage/spa places! After my first session I was amazed at how knowledgeable my massage therapist Jeremy was. I was in bad shape. I've had numerous "spa massages" but nothing like this. He targeted my problem areas and really talked about my lifestyle and informed me on how I can overcome my problem with constant pain. In normal massages, they just kinda rub around, sounds silly but some people will know what Im talking about. He knew all the muscles and which ones effect me. He was adjusting my body and giving it relief like Ive never felt. After 3 sessions I walk differently and can even do some exercise poses that previously caused pain or were too difficult! They're hours! I work crazy hours and they can always seem to fit me in the evening! Prices! The main reason I never got massages regularly is because of time and money. Since I can cross off the time, I come to the prices. They accept insurance and I even had a referral from my dr for massage therapy, BUT my insurance wasnt willing to cover it. They told me about their AWESOME monthly membership with all sorts of perks and random fun perks the owner does. Like $10-20 off if you book a morning massage during a certain or something fun like that. Plus you can share the savings with a friend or family member. It turns out that the prices are only just $10-30 more then what my insurance would be paying. Plus you can't really put a price on more energy, flexibly and health for you body. The front desk is so helpful! They helped me find the right therapist for me and then also the right one for my dad. I love talking with them even before and after my appt. They're just great. :) I have already recommended this place to all my friends on Facebook but also clients of mine! I think I finally know what a REAL deep tissue massage is now because of Dinah. I'm not going to lie; I was a bit ignorant and thought because she looked a bit older, how could she possibly go as hard as I wanted her to? I guess the joke was on me because to my surprise, she was amazing. At times, she hurt me. I'm not going to complain though 'cause it really did "hurt so good." Lol :) The front desk staff were really nice, as well as the facility. It wasn't all fancy shmancy like the spas I'm used to going to, but it wasn't dirty, cheap looking, nor ghetto, which is always a plus. I found them through Groupon and I was going to purchase the Groupon, but then the front desk lady offered me a better deal from them. I appreciated that! Bought the Yelp Deal to get an 80 minute massage here and it was absolutely fantastic! I have an awesome massage therapist I already go to, so I was a bit skeptical and was hoping that it would be a decent massage, but boy was I wrong to doubt! Ann is an amazing massage therapist! She found all the knots and tight spots and worked really well with my body to release as much tension as you can get to in 80 minutes. The front staff was very nice and friendly. The facility is relaxing, pretty, and clean! Coming from downtown it's fairly easy to get to and it's totally worth the drive! I'll definitely be back! read more

My first time going here with the couple that I got from Yelp, my massage therapist was Allie(Allison) she was super nice. She had a really soothing voice and amazingly soft hands! I have been going to Elements for almost a year. I bought a monthly membership because I know that I NEED massage and the membership was my way of guaranteeing I took care of myself. I have seen a ton of therapists and have never had a bad massage. Despite it being a chain and being a massage factory with a bunch of rooms, the place is nice, it's very clean, and it's decorated in a soothing manner. They offer you water after the massage which I think is helpful. All in all, I am happy with Elements. I have not cancelled my membership. read more
