I don't think I've ever been in here sober, and even at that when I do end up here I should have gone home 2 hours before stepping into this place. Sleazys has been, for many years, a favoured haunt of ours for after work drinks, or after drinks drinks. The late night licence is a god send in this part of town if you don't want to go to some awful club, and the place itself is somewhat of an institution. It also sells some very nice beer and last night I was propping up te bar with a bottle of caledonia's Golden Promise - a beautiful drink if you haven't tried it before. Part of me wants to go into Sleazys and enjoy it in the early evening, but then part of me doesn't. I like the fact that even though I've been in countless occassions I don't know the colour of the walls...or the price of the drink! read more

On Monday evenings at Sleazy's you'll find the best open mic night in the city, with free beer for performers and everything from old-time crooners to improvised comedy rap, with plenty of singing and strumming in between. It's the most eclectic and impressive open mic night I've been to and is well worth attending for an evening of entertainment from Glasgow's most weird and wonderful. read more

Seem to be in this place quite a lot. Mostly for the Burgers. Need the stomach lined before a pub crawl or a good few drinks then this place does the trick. Also not too bad for the drink itself. Burger wise the selection has maybe 10 burgers but the ingredients will leave you feeling like you have read a sumptuous novel. Prices range from £7 - 9 you pay for the quality. You also get 2 or 3 on the blackboard as you walk in, the specials. I go for one of these. The Lucretia, took me a while to be able to pronounce it. You have the burger pretty good, pulled pork exciting, chorizo salivating, chilli jam rocks my world then they add burnt pineapple. Stops you in your tracks but in the end it works. Prefer burgers that you can pick up and bite. These are almost too tall, and can be extremely messy. Though 1 time I managed to eat the whole thing no mess. Drink wise it is maybe a little pricey but has some deals on that can get you through and also has the white russian route. Often when I'm there it is a little to early for that. Punters of all variety, not the old man pub though. Music is alright a bit out there at times though. Good for a little change. The odd scribble on the walls can keep your eyes occupied for a time. Definitely go there to at least try a burger. tick it off the list. read more

I love Sleazies. It's not particularly nice or sleazy, but I'm not going to sue them for false advertising. They have a great bar, and the food is pretty decent but the real appeal is the music. It's the sort of place you will find the alternative crowd with most musicians bearing the influence of Glasgow's Mogwai. I've seen some of the band in here before actually, with other musicians from other Glasgow bands on Rock Action. The jukebox is awesome, and there are gigs on in here downstairs regularly that are always worth checking, mainly alternative noise. Mainly a music venue for me, or a pre/post gig pub, but an all round great place that's well worth investigating if you are up on Sauchiehall Street. £2 for a White Russian is also great and pleases the Big Lebowski fan in me! read more

I thought my days at Sleazy's were over, but just recently, I've been hanging with a friend who loves it. So, I now find myself in the bar, clubbing until around 3, and experiencing the part of the bar that is not a gig venue. A few years ago, this was the in venue for hipsters. The mighty Arab Strap performed here, and it was the venue of choice for small, yet cool, local bands. Part of it must be the atmosphere- the crowd packed tightly, the small downstairs bar, with brilliant service and cheap drink prices. It was small enough to let the fans get close, and their policy of multiple bands on the same night made it value for money as well as cool. The proliferation of other venues in the area has damped this down. The venue is still for scene kids, but the scenes are more fragmented. However, if you like hip-hop, they support that far more than any of the other name venues of the same scale. Of course, the bar is hip: 1970s vibe, cool jukebox, achingly trendy staff and the same fair prices. It can be intimate, if you get a table, but fills up, even midweek, by about 10. They also turn the music up around then, to give a more busy atmosphere. You can still talk over the tunes, but usually end up talking about the music! The clubs downstairs range from funk to rock: always busy, and attracting cool people not really attached to any of the other scenes (techno and the like are dealt with at the Sub Club or Soundhaus). It is a good, general disco for people who don't like chart tunes on most nights. I am getting a bit old for Sleazy's, but still retain my affection for the bar. It is Glasgow's rock'n'roll hub, and a good place to people watch. read more

Despite being more of a rocker than an indie kid, I always still feel very much at home in Nice 'n' Sleazys. While generally going in for a few drinks rather than to see a live band, there's always something on the jukebox to whet my appetite. The same can be said for the good, inexpensive selection of drinks on offer. For once I even paid attention to advertising for the first time in my life and tried one of the 'White Russian' cocktails mentioned on board at the bar, which was very nice if slightly lacking in alcohol. I enjoy the buzz in this place - it's pretty busy all through the week and has a largely young, studenty crowd, which is really my type of thing. A bit more space and seating would be welcome. N'n'S is a great spot on the bit of a nightmare of crap chain bars that is Sauchiehall St. Despite its listing it's not a dive bar and doesn't real claim to be, though it is rough and ready. There are many pros about the bar. Firstly, there are plenty of bar staff every night of the week, so you don't spend ages 6 deep in a queue to order. Also, the bar is open til 3am every night and doesn't have a cover charge. The range of drinks is good, with a better selection of draft beers than most Glaswegian bars. The music is generally good, the decor is distinctively kitch and cool, and the lighting is the right level of low. read more

It's easy to be critical these days. The internet seems to encourage folk highlight every negative, explode them up to something of biblical proportions and decide that somewhere, someone, or something is THE. WORST. THING. EVER. This attitude nearly got me. I was all set for giving Sleazy's a 4 star review. I had decided it before I went in and the reasons were clear: it's focus has moved away from the cool underground dive bar that it used to be towards a slightly rough around the edges burger restaurant, and as a result it's lost its edge (there are families here! Table covers! Where's the pool table!). It's changed from how it used to be back in the day, and I was ready to have a moan about it. Then I sat down, spent a bit of time there, and I realised the error of my ways. Yeah, the afternoon clientele is slightly different, and it is geared up to handle the folk coming here for the burgers, but the things that made this a bar I loved all those years ago are still there. Look around, and it still has the cool subterranean feel to it - in spite of the darkness it's a really nice place to spend some time in when it's quiet. The jukebox is still phenomenal (Girls Against Boys!), it still holds eclectic club nights and gigs, and it has a good selection of beers and spirits. The staff are still on the right side on the cool & friendly v aloof hipster scale, and it's still doesn't take itself seriously - any bar that sells Kinder Surprise behind the bar is good for me. I really like all of this, and the fact that it's tweaked things a wee bit shouldn't mean that I automatically start dissing it because it's not exactly like it was 20 years ago. If you always loved Sleazy's the fact that they sell pretty damn good burgers is a bit of a bonus. If you've never been there before they are good enough to draw you there for a first visit. In an oversaturated market, and as one of the original places to do gourmet burgers it could be easy to ignore them, but they are good enough that depending on how you like your burger this could easily be someone's best burger place in Glasgow. That person will love a massive tower burger, as these are huge. I attempted to squish mine down, but eventually gave up and used cutlery - I honestly felt I would dislocate my jaw if I tried to eat it in one go. I went for the Braddock burger (basically a cheese and bacon burger) and it was great - a little hint of pink in the middle of the burger (more places should do this in my book), well cooked bacon, and a fantastic bun made this really enjoyable, good enough to break the inevitable burger boredom that I've picked up. My only real complaint would be that the chips portion is a little on the small side, which is a shame as they were extremely good. My personal tastes still put Bloc+ ahead of it, but this really isn't far behind. Nothing to be critical about then, and the world is good again... read more

Ah, Sleazy's. The place to go if you want £3 Black or White Russians. The place to go if you want to find students and hipsters on Sauchiehall Street who are too cool for The Garage or 'spoons. The place to go whether you want to sit in a pub with a pint, dance at a club night, or check out the new musical talent at an open mic. What's not to love? The food isn't half bad and £3 is a decent price for a Black Russian - even if the lovely craft beers they have on tap can be eye-wateringly expensive from time to time. Upstairs is warm and welcoming and a great place for groups if you get there earlier enough to nab a table. It definitely gets overcrowded on the busier nights, though, so watch out for that. Downstairs is a venue space. Sometimes its used for open mic nights, sometimes for clubbing and DJ sets, sometimes for booked local bands. Occasionally they even put on film screenings or have comedy sets. As places to dance go this is one of the smaller, more intimate options available along Sauchiehall Street, but that's no bad thing. You can usually expect a slightly more eclectic mix being played than the standard chart toppers that dominate the larger nearby clubs. If that's your thing, settle in and enjoy it, but this is fully a hipster den - if it gets a bit pretentious don't be too surprised. In terms of the open mic nights it's one of the friendliest places for new artists that I've been to. I am musically untalented and have never braved getting up on stage but those who do are encouraged and are listened to politely. There are a few locals who come back every week but it's not a hard scene to get involved with and I think if you wanted to try out some new songs with an audience who could promise to be nice to you, this is the place. read more

I used to drink in Nice N Sleazy's when I was a student (some time ago, I won't say how long...!!!) and recently returned to sample the much raved about burgers served by Meathammer ltd. They won Glasgow's best burger in 2012 (or was it 2013, my memory sucks) and hve truly built a name for themselves. I tried the 'Lucretia' burger which includes such delights as caramelized pineapple and chorizo - truly delicious. It wasn't the easiest of burgers to eat as it's pretty stacked, but when it's this good you find a way! My husband tried one of the specials, the 'Pignut' I believe which he thoroughly enjoyed. However, we weren't particularly enamoured with the chips served alongside or the portion size - but would most definitely return regardless! read more

This is a nice place. But the thing that annoys me, is their quiz. They need to introduce the app for the quiz. Because when you are doing it the old fashioned. Way on paper. You see teams on their mobile phones cheating that both my friend and myself have reported before. While they are on the next question, someone is searching for the answer from the question before on their mobiles. I know some might say it's a game. I hate losing. But to lose to people that you clearly can't win against, unless you cheat yourself is bad. Please update it to the app. Nothing worst than a group of friends coming out, to lose to cheaters. Apart from that. Everything is great with this place. Great hangout place, esp being so close to the Garage. And the staff are always speedy to serve, and very polite. read more

Sleazy's holds a special place in my heart from 10 years ago when I used to go here for the coolest pub quiz in Glasgow, seeing some great local bands, The Blimp, and some not-so-great-bands (not so great bands will remain nameless), to treading the boards here myself. Don't let the talk in the other reviews of cool student hangout put you off if that's not what you are, students dripping with cool are welcome but in the past I have seen one of the best selections of misfits than any other bar in Glasgow here, so if you don't fit in elsewhere, but do have a bit of an indie leaning as far as music is concerned then this is the place for you. The bar can get really busy some nights but during the day is a lot quieter and the food is fantastic, I recommend the Sleazy Burger. read more

Great place to sit with mates, chat and chillout whilst listening to some great tunes which dont include cheesy pop but do include plenty of aereogramme, the knife, buzzcocks, arab strap(this is only a snippet of the music you can hear in sleazys). Often sleazys have live gigs on downstairs which is a great venue with plenty of air conditioning so you dont feel sweated on by everyone around you. The pool table is only a bonus to one of Glasgow's finest bar/gig venues. Located on the Sauchiehall strip close to a few popular clubs including the garage (popular cheap and nasty hang-out)and ABC (old cinema), this is an ace place to begin a night out - or just stay in all eve long. Downstairs is an intimate gig venue which often showcases new Scottish talent. I've lost count of the times I have just gone in for a quick pint with a mate and stayed all night watching bands and chattin away to decent folks. Glasgow's best juke box is apt for those into punk, new wave, indie etc In the daytime it has more of a cafe feel and does great snackettes, toasties or main meals at a decent price. The coolest place in Glasgow to hang out, and THE choice of the Glasgow indie music community. With a small and intimate gig venue downstairs, and a bustling bar upstairs complete with killer jukebox, pool table, and friendly staff Sleazys is the complete music venue. It is the real deal and has been for the past 15 plus years and overshadows its newer rivals along Sauchiehall Street, whose clean and glossy spaces do not have the same genuine vibe that Sleazys has. It is the place to catch a local band or up and coming touring band - there seems to be something on offer every night. I hadn't been to Nice n Sleazy since some hazy midweek nights when I was at uni so it was nice to go back and see it without the beer goggles. The drink prices were reasonable and the part where the gigs are held (downstairs) is a nice size and quite intimate so you really get to enjoy the band without bring miles away from them. Still the coolest bar in Glasgow despite it's overwhelming popularity. I tend not to go at the weekends becuase it gets a little too crammed but during the week after the pubs have shut it's the ideal destination if you want to stay away from the generic rubbish on Sauchiehall Street. Previously the haunt of the cool art school kids and Glasgow indie allstars I'd say that it's not quite as exclusive now but still rates better than most places. The club downstairs is definetely nice n sleazy in a good way. The £2 signature White Rusians are great and the burgers used to be amazing but not had food there in a while. read more

If you fancy a bit of The Smiths, Camera Obscura and The Knife with your pint, then Nice n Sleazy's is a good halfway house between the dancier music of places like The Local and harder rock and Goth like the Cathouse. I like the decor, it's effortless whilst still being tacky, and we all love a bit of tack, don't we? This place is as much a part of Glasgow as the GoMa or King Tut's, and is a must visit if you are new in town. It's fantastic for a casual drink, somewhere to go and chat, or soak up the atmosphere in one of the basement gigs. Nice, no. Sleazy, yes. I'm pretty sure in my Tennantsy haze I spotted Buckfast on tap in here. Classic Scottish. And if that's not a reason to pull up a pew in here then I don't know what is. read more

We went here basically because of the rather good reviews on here. When we were there, it was a nice wee building, nice decor, nice atmosphere and comfy looking seats (i ended up sharing a stool with someone so couldn't really tell). The bar staff were nice and friendly. The prices were reasonable and lots of drinks to chose from they even had the very classy but very Glaswegian Buckfast which i thought was a nice touch just to remind you your in a Glasgow pub. i really enjoyed this place and ill no doubt drag my friends back in here not that that would take much persuasion. read more

This is my favourite bar in Glasgow. It has the right atmosphere; not too posh, not too shabby, just very cool and down to earth, with great rock music in the background. There's a concert venue downstairs, where you can enjoy various bands for cheap - and every Monday they invite to open mic. The white russian they serve is staple on a visit to Sleazys, but you can get pretty much whatever you want to drink. And let's not forget the best part; it's open till 3 am every night. read more

Until a few weeks ago, I had never eaten in Sleazy's before. To set the scene...it was a Saturday, I'd just played an hour of roller derby and was hungry enough to seriously consider eating my sleeve. One of our friends suggested going to Sleazy's to get bacon. Other things were mentioned but the sheer joy on his face at the word bacon is what stays in my mind. We arrived en masse. In total there were about 20 of us but the bar staff served us in an orderly fashion based on who was sitting at which table. As a vegan in a non vegan eatery, I'm used to having 1 option. And that option is usually chips. But the menu here kindly said that meals could be made vegan and there were 2 burgers that I could eat and 2 quesidillas. I cannot spell the word quesidilla. There was a blurb at the top of the menu explaining that the buns, as they were brioche, were not suitable for vegans. This was really useful because there were vegan burger options and it would be easy to make a mistake and it helped me make my decision. I picked the quesidilla with extra salsa. We were told the food would take half an hour to arrive. It took longer than half hour for the food to arrive but it was well worth the wait! I hate chips. I hate them. I eat them because they're usually all you can in most non vegan places, but these chips. Oh my goodness, these chips! They were the most magical chips I've ever eaten! They are triple fried (in vegetable oil according to the barmaid I asked to check), with salt and light spices. I am salivating as I type. They were amazing. Go for the chips! Oh and I also got the vegetarian quesidilla, no cheese, it was really tasty with lots of coriander. I love coriander, I know a lot of people don't, but I do and it was my food and it was tasty. The menu said that they had icecream and Swedish Glace but alas the waitress looked at me vacantly when I asked for it. A coke float would have gone down a treat. The food was really tasty and great value for money, in addition to my meal, I also got a diet coke and a whiskey and it cost just a little over £10. I will definitely be going back for food again! But maybe not if I'm ravenous as that wait was painful :P read more

This is the best pub in Glasgow. Quiet during the day and busy in the evening. Music is always good and the food is home made and tasty.

I went to this lovely place in 2004. I can't remember too many details because I obviously had too much fun there, but I lovvvved it. My biggest regret that night though was not buying a t shirt! This pub was definitely the highlight of my Glasgow going out experience and if I ever get back there again, I look forward to revisiting. read more

This is a great pub/venue space. Upstairs is warm, and has a good set-up with both space and chairs to have some conversation with friends over a few drinks. Downstairs is the venue, and although its a bit small, they have something going on almost every night from a huge variety of genres. Staff are super friendly. Would definitely recommend. read more

maybe it's a sign of age, but i really like being in sleazy's in the afternoon - when it's quiet, and you can read the papers over a portion of cheesy beanos. a wonderful thing, it is. thursday - saturday nights, the place is mobbed! plenty of atmosphere and people in clothing they'll regret when they're forty, so don't expect to get served in a hurry. they do a couple of cocktails worthy of mention - the £2 white russian (made with tia maria, alas), and the gary coleman (rum, coke, and guiness!!). the food is good, and cheap, and they've got addlestons cider, and budvar, on tap - which is no bad thing! all the hip young cats seem to hang out here - if you want to be one of them, you'd best get down there. read more

Sleazy's is a legendary G-town institution, as Glaswegian as a rainy day or a man in a bin shouting abuse at himself. It's just one of those super-awesome, chilled out joints where a guy like me can chillax with my guys whilst listenin' to some super awesome tunes on the juke box and samplin' some craft beers whilst comparin' neck tattoos. They gotta burger joint in-house where you can get some super-awesome burgers with chunky fries and classic slaw, all washed down with some gnarly craft beer. Don't be surprised if you find a coupl'a'beard hairs in your burgers though man, this joint is 95% full of dudes like me with awesome, big square beards like mine, maybe they should serve their burgers in mosquito nets in future lol! I'm only messin', but there are a lot of guys in there with the exact same beard as mine, which is kinda cool as I like to be surrounded by individuals. Nice N Sleazy's (or Sleazy's for short) is a grotty dive of a place. And no, that's not a bad thing at all. See, if you're the kind of person who has spent any amount of time in dank gig venues and sticky floored indie clubs, then this place is straight outta your nostalgia. The floors and walls are equally black, peering from behind a variety of flyers and posters, all providing a grot-tapestry for the hipster clientele. If you really despise hipsters, run a mile. If you don't mind thin, largely inoffensive twentysomethings in bobble-hats and low-slung slacks, you'll be fine here. Sleazy's is, basically, a rock 'n' roll joint with Dirtbombs on the jukebox, disaffected and pretty barstaff, cheap doubles and a separate venue downstairs punters are greeted with a small bar swallowed by dry ice and haircuts. It's a friendly enough place and, if you're from out of town like me, it will make you think of your favourite indie bar you dossed about in when you were 16. Obviously, with that, it's a little cliquey, but no-one looks ready to lamp anyone. The only hoodies and hooped earrings you'll see here are ironically worn, and ostensibly, the whole thing is so familiar that you'll feel like you've been there a thousand times before, so there's no need to keep an eye on your back getting stabbed. It's open really late, passes itself off as something of a local legend (just like the kind of 'local legend' who was in that moderately successful band that one time and hasn't got a job yet, so spends his time waddling around in a leather jacket in a sort of endearingly irritating way) and will tick all your boxes if you're after a cheap, fun night that could well ruin your trainers. It's charmingly bad in places. Embrace it if you're into this sort of thing. There's not many places like them in the cities of Britain these days. read more
