Good doggy. I've been waiting for this place to open for a long time now. Kinda like a doggy awaiting their owners to come home, I've been dismayed at the time spent waiting for them to open the doors, give me a pat on the head (scratch behind the ear... ooh, yeah, that's the spot) and pour me a splendid pint of uber beer into my wee doggy bowl. Well folks, the owners are home. I've been a good puppy and they've responded in kind. With a warehouse/industrial type decor that never at any time feels cold or un-cosy, Brewdog Glasgow is welcoming, bright and funky all at the same time. Unlike other reviews so far, I waited until the 'woooooooooaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhh' of the opening fortnight had passed over before i ventured into the 'Dug'. Clever boy. So, if you're familiar with these guys then you'll recognise all your old favorites on offer as well as a few cheeky guest ales from similarly funky breweries. Had me a Wipeout I.P.A from Port Brewing which was recommended to me by the dude behind the bar. He asked what I was after. I told him I'd been locked in the back seat of a car with the windows rolled up and was really hot. He suggested this stuff. I wagged tail and drank it. Word. Being a little early for the U.Y.E I also had a few mins to grab some grub which turned out to be a fine move. They have a fairly limited menu in comparison to other places, however after chowing down on a cheese burger with chorizo and onion marmalade, it appears that food has certainly not been an afterthought when the BD guys where putting together the plan for this place. Aye ok, it's £4.50 just for the burger, but woooft, if it's not a right crackin' burger. Honestly, the burger and pint combo had me waggling tail, rolling over and other dog related things. Final word? This is a pub. This is a proper pub. Yeah it's a little more expensive a round than you'd pay elsewhere, but in truth the sheer quality of the product makes the extra 50p on a pint look cheap and not even worth consideration. I'm in. I'm on it. i'm sleeping at the bottom of the bed.

Brewdog has staked its claim in Glasgow. They have chosen a location that has been the death knell for their predecessors. In between the Argyle Street Hordes and the Byres Road Big Boys, it is often tough to get folks to move to this Museum middle ground. But Brewdog takes on these tough locations and makes them work. So this is another instalment in the boys from the north taking over. What can you expect when you walk into this place? Exposed brick industrial decor, reasonable seating and a selection of board games for your crowd to enjoy. Check out the amazing floor - the Brewdog guys discovered this little treasure when they started the construction. When I showed up it was full with every seat taken and loads of folks standing around. I have not seen a scene like this since the opening of Chinaskis. Obviously people have decided to step out and try the newcomer. The beers if you not tried them before are not your regular lagers and ales. Brewdog take the regular beer taste and explode the elements. Hops come screaming out of their heavily hopped ales and their 77 lager rewrites the book for this category. I am expecting a load of brewers trying to copy this style. I did not try the food but here the focus is on the beer. Loads of bottled imports that reflect the Brewdog attitude to brewing behind the bar. So if you find yourself at the ends of Byres or Argyle, then check it out.

How great is this place? We've walked by numerous times with thoughts of stopping in, especially for their BBQ, but had yet to, until last night. A group of our friends were bar hopping in celebration of Easter (why not, right?) and were here when we got back in to town from being away. They had a large booth, so my guy and I stood where they were sitting, which was fine by me. There was a wee dog bowl of water near my feet, which I kept kicking- luckily not spilling any. They only have one cider to order, which is fine by me, seeing as Brew Dog is known for their many many many local beers. Our friends went to town sampling all the delights on offer and even got my guy to try a cherry beer (I can't remember the name of it)- which does not taste a bit like beer. It tastes like Haribo!! If you know my guy, you know he will not even put his tongue to a beer, so this was a huge moment! Ha! Anyway, the place has a great vibe and smells like delicious BBQ. One of our friends ordered the peanutbutter ice cream sandwich that was on offer. He offered some to me, which I gladly tried. The peanut butter ice cream is a dream, seriously, you must try this! We didn't order food, but vowed to be back ASAP for their lunch deal. I had to refrain from sampling the many trays of beef and mac and cheese that continually walked by us. (I'm not a weird who would actually touch another persons food- but gee, it looked amazing!!) Their little beer shop is great as well. I fully plan on taking some random beers home to my brother when we go to visit. He'll be so excited!! This is a great place! They even have women's products in each toilet stall, which was a nice touch! I can't wait to get back here!

    Yum!

I kept hearing about BrewDog and well, I didn't come soon enough! Now I can't get enough! Obviously the beers are outstanding...It is BrewDog we are talking about here! To top it off the food is outstanding. They really know how to cook a burger. It is juicy like a burger should be, instead of a dry brittle overcooked crumbly rock. The toppings on the burger are wonderful too! Smoked cheddar, camelized onions, BACON, crispy onion rings, blue cheese, peppers, apples...the sky is the limit, but the concoctions are incredible! The fries are good, though I am not a big fan of paprika. Also, I keep hearing about their amazing hotdogs, but I have a hard time passing up the burgers! I will be sure to update this once I finally sink my teeth into one of the dogs! The music at BrewDog is always great, and the vibe is fabulous whether packed or mellow. My bartenders and servers have always been nice and informative, and have no qualms about letting you taste every beer on tap! But, warning, that may make your beer-selection-decision more challenging because you will want a few of them.

    Craft beer for the people

FANTASTIC beer bar in Glasgow! My husband and I were visiting from Chicago and when we found out that there was a craft brewery/bar we knew we had to visit. Living in the states we have no shortage of craft breweries/beers to choose from, especially in the city of Chicago, and that's good...because we love good beer! We had tried a BrewDog beer once before while visiting Amsterdam (a collab w/ Three Floyds, a Chicago-based brewer!) so we knew at least one of their beers was awesome, and we were very pleasantly surprised to find that the rest of their beers that we tried in Glasgow were awesome as well! Along with great beers, the location of BrewDog Glasgow can't be beat. It is right across the street from the Kelvingrove Gallery so the views looking out the their giant windows are picture perfect. Great vibe as well complete with an old school tabletop arcade game, board games, friendly bartenders, and dogs! I love dogs in bars :) BrewDog is definitely a winner here in Glasgow!

Yelp describes a 5 star place as "Woohoo! As good as it gets!", well they certainly nailed it with BrewDog's Glasgow bar. From the outside the bar itself appears almost unassuming to those not already indoctrinated into the Cult of Punk, but what it lacks in flashy exterior it more than makes up for in warm, "West End-y" interior. Stripped wood tables and steal bar stools, booths and couches and a long bar with dozens of beers on offer tell the whole story of what it is BrewDog do. Unlike the Camden bar I reviewed last, the Glasgow bar has far more of a feeling of a purpose built temple to the craft beer revolution, rather than a converted old-man's pub. Situated perfectly for access to Kelvingrove Art Galleries across the road and perilously close the Kelvin Hall's gym facilities (many a good workout have no doubt been nullified in here) the bar is off the beaten track, neither falling on the bustling Byres Road nor on the newly minted urban hub of Finnieston. This visit I had a few new beers and a few favourites; JackHammer IPA, Hardcore IPA, ThisIsLager, Dogma, and Bounty-Hunter (the EFP exclusive of the day). All were exceptional, all were drinkable, though my advice with the Dogma is not to try to make a night of it (sore head anyone?) The bar wasn't overly busy this visit so we got chatting to the barman who made recommendations and talked about Equity for Punks while we sipped his latest draught. As the bar filled up with displaced tourists from the closed Gallery across the road and the early evening traffic of people on their way home from work, you could really see the broad appeal of these beers. The burgers looked amazing, we didn't have one but the guy eating beside us appeared to be having vinegar strokes over the taste. Overall it's a must in the West End.

    Loving the Punk IPA.

    I. LOVE. BREWDOG. It's been on my list for yonks but for some reason I never made it until just now. So, Saturday 6pm it was HEAVING! But there were loads of staff on so queues at the bar moved quickly. By 9, it was still busy but had quitened quite a bit. Music was great too, and not overbearingly loud. BrewDog's own Punk IPA is super and might just be my new favourite beer.. I also had the best burger I've had in years (possibly ever!). It's called the 'Up And ATOM'. Basically, it's a really spicy cheese burger - but was so juicy and gherkinny and salady and really spicy. I actually made a kind of 'mmmmmurghummmph!' noise at the first bite. The cajun fries were great too - crispy with a little paprika-ish kick. And we only had to wait 10mins for it :) I want another burger and Punk IPA. Now. The memory is haunting me.....

The vegan burger - seitan burger with crispy kale, tomato chutney and hummus

I visited the BrewDog bar a couple of times last year, but then didn't go for ages and ages, which is weird considering I've been living 5 minutes for a while now! Anyway, I went again the other day with my mum, for some beer and grub. I'm a big fan of BrewDog's beers, and I tend to have the Punk IPA quite a lot of the time whenever I'm at the pub. Since their own bar has a much larger selection, I branched out this time and had the 5AM Saint (which I've had before) and the Vagabond, both of which were really tasty. I'm far from being a beer connoisseur, but I love the hoppy, flavourful beers that BrewDog do. Most (but not all!) of their beers are vegan, which is fantastic. As for the food, it was fantastic. I had the vegan burger, which is a seitan steak with tomato chutney, crispy kale and hummus, and it was amazing. They also have a veggie dog that can be made vegan, which is a tofu dog with avocado hummus, broccoli, carrot and scallion. I definitely want to go back to try it! The menu has changed a bit since last year, so I'm not sure if the veggie melt is the same as the veggie burger I had way back then. Anyhow, I did have a veggie haggis burger sometime last summer (when I wasn't vegan), which I remember being really nice. They also have meaty options, so it's a great place for everyone! The service has always been really good when I've been there, with friendly and knowledgeable servers. This time I had a nice chat with one of them about veganism! The interior is very hipster, industrial, laidback and relaxed. The high chairs aren't the most comfortable, so grab a normal table if you can! Apparently it does get quite busy at times, but I've never been there on a weekend night, so I'm not sure.

The best flight you'll ever be on!

ALERT! ALERT! Bias review coming up. I know business aren't allowed to review themselves, but does it count when your a shareholder??? ;) So that might give you an idea of how much I heart this place. Everything from the gorgeous view of Kelvingrove Art Gallery, to the cosy booths (not a fan of the science class chairs, though they're a bit better now your butt has a bit of cushioning between it and the wooden seat), the sexual burgers, the tantalising paprika fries, the friendly, pure dead beer savvy staff, (Andy, Gina, Tomás, now of down south fame, and one time managers Martin and Victo, are my personal favourites) beer tastings, cheese and meat platters, and of course, the stars of the show, the beers! If you're a craft beer fan, and don't mind paying for quality, you will have a field day here. Taps generally feature 5-7 of their own brews, with guests and take overs a regular feature. There's also a wide variety of bottles, again from their own Aberdeen brewery, as well as others from as far afield as the good Ol' US of A. Haters, don't sweat it. They also stock a selection of wines, spirits and softs, for those who's palate has not grown to love the taste of a fine porter, slipping down your throat.

    Lovely, delcious beer.

There are, as far as I can tell, two common complaints about BrewDog: 1. Punks don't have AGMs! Punks don't sell beer in M&S! -No, true. The punk thing is clever, tongue in cheek marketing. It's supposed to be a bit of a joke. 2. All the beer is super hoppy. -Also pretty true. If you don't like overly hopped beer this may not be for you. That said, they are starting to do more that isn't quite so in your face with the hops. So maybe give them another shot Personally, I quite like the beer, although I do wish they'd bring back Trashy Blonde. I like trying the new things they have to offer as well as their guest ales. I recommend getting a tasting flight if you there are several beers you haven't tried before (You get 4 different beers, a third of a pint each, normally coming in between £10 and £15). They do have a few ciders, wines and soft drinks but you'll pay far to much for them. This place is all about the beer. The bar itself is quite nice. It has lots of natural light from the huge windows that face onto the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. There are booths, long benches and a couple of extremely comfortable sofas. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they'll make recommendations, serve tasters and, if it's quiet enough, run table service. There's no TV, although they do have freee WiFi and a decent selection of boardgames. Afterall, everyone knows Jenga only gets better after a few pints. They do a selection of very respectable burgers, bar snacks and a few other meals as well as a surprisingly decent filter coffee and a range of teas. Bonus points because the Glasgow homebrewers group meet there on Mondays and because, although the toilets are quite small they are always clean and there have absolutely invaluable complimentary items available in the ladies. Oh, and they're a living wage employer and quite right too.

Best veggie burger I've ever had.

In town visiting the University of Glasgow and we saw this pub across the street and decided to try it out - FANTASTIC IDEA!!! The server/owner Daniel was extremely kind and l did his best to accommodate my friend and I. I had the Clucky This Time and it was PHENOMENAL! I've never had a veggie burger that had as great of a consistency as this while also maintaining its flavor. The Cajun Mayo & avocado were a great bonus. I start school in September and I can already tell that this will be a favorite hang out of mine. My friend ha the Soy Division dog and it looked phenomenal. She said it was so flavorful that she felt bad eating it, as it so closely resembled the flavor of meat. It's accommodates Vegan & Vegetarian eaters, has the spiciest hot sauce I've ever tried(also vegan), the service was phenomenal, it had a discount for students AND the owner was kind enough to bring out a dog bowl with water for a customer and her dog. Honestly, this is just one of my favorite dining experiences ever. We could 100% use Daniel & Brewdog back in America.

    A nice day in Glasgow.

Great Beer, Great food and some of the best staff in Glasgow. Positioned in the shadow of Kelvingrove Art Gallery on Argyll Street, BrewDog has a fabulous vista to watch out over. Good indoor seating with limited tables outside allowing customers to enjoy those rare scottish summer days. Normally around 12 different beers on tap from BrewDog and guest from all over the world. You can enjoy a huge variety of styles and strengths of beer. Great bottle selection covering every price point, strength and style you can imagine. BrewDog also offer growler fills and a take away discount on bottles allowing you to continue you fun at home. Very knowledgeable staff and regulars mean if you have any beer related questions there is always somebody to ask and get a very in depth reply. A lovely menu of Burgers, Pizzas and their fabulous cheese and meat platers give a great base for you to add your beer too. At busy times you can wait a while for food due to the small but efficient kitchen.

The bartenders really know their stuff and are happy to guide you toward something you'll love. A quick heads-up: no football colors allowed, which keeps the atmosphere friendly and relaxed no matter who you support. And speaking of friendly -- the locals here are as welcoming as they come. This is exactly the kind of place where Scotland's famous pub culture shines. Prices are surprisingly reasonable too, so you can sample a few drams without feeling guilty. Made from "Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka & Xante Pear Cognac, shaken with lemons and apple juice. Finished with a splash of lemonade and a drizzle of grenadine, served in a chilled wine glass." There's no denying this cocktail had an apple zing to it - quite sweet but not too over the top and pretty easy drinking. I'd ordered the twice cooked fries (£2.95) and they arrived pretty quickly and were piping hot. They weren't amazing fries, a little greasy but overall they were pretty decent and we demolished them without any trouble. I then opted to get into a second cocktail - it was a Saturday afternoon, after all. The Black Magic Woman (£6.50) is an espresso martini with "Illy Espresso, Smirnoff Red, Patron XO & brown sugar shaken over ice, strained into a martini glass and dusted with chocolate." Woah. This was GOOD. I mean, really good. A bit addictive, even. Thankfully I wouldn't be able to tolerate two espresso martinis so that wasn't really an option. I loved the chocolate dusting and it was one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. I'd even go so far as to say I would go back to Slouch just for this cocktail, it was that good.

It is not located in the hip touristy area next to Planet Hollywood. It is a small unassuming pub in a working class neighborhood. We walked from Glasgow University (looks like Hogwarts) which turned out to be a longer walk than Google made it seem. It was cold and drizzly just like Scotland should be so when we got there we were ready. We didn't have reservations but they were extremely nice and sat us down. This is a Pub. Just what you are picturing in your head right now. Dark, lots of dark wood, old crumbling bricks. I love this decor. We started with a couple of appetizers I ordered the Salmon Tartar and my wife ordered the smoked duck breast. I ordered a cold pint my wife had a glass of white wine. We decided to also have a half dozen local oysters. The waitress asked if we were expecting someone else. I guess 3 appetizers is not normal for 2. We were just getting started. Once we demolished all 3 appetizers I followed up with the Pan Seared Gigha Halibut my wife had the steamed Shetland Mussels. What a treat. All the seafood is local and very fresh. All of our dishes from beginning to end were tops. A truly historic dining experience from a historic eatery. In Glasgow then GO...... to The Finnieston. See what I did there. BTW we also had dessert.

Good location to stop on your way back from Kelvingrove's Art Gallery and Museum. We walked from the museum to the pub without any problems. It's nice on the inside. There are some tables and the bar is at the center with a nice display of alcohol both on tap and on the walls. Beer: there was large selection of beer and liquor to choose from. I was looking for a good stout and the bartender, Andrew gave me some really good recommendations. I settled on the Overtone Milk that he recommended and it did not disappoint. It was smooth, full bodied, and flavorful. Nice chocolate flavor with a hint of smokiness to it. My husband got the Drygate IPA and it was crisp and hoppy. Service: I always look for good conversation, attentiveness, kindness, and whether or not the server and or bartender was knowledgeable about what they're serving. Our bartender Andrew was all of the above. He was so welcoming, and my husband and I enjoyed the great conversation With him. He knew a lot about the selection of beers and whiskey, where it came from, and who it came from, so that was wonderful! Thank you Andrew for a great experience. We hope we can stop by again while we're still in Glasgow.
