The Christmas holiday went by and soon it was the end of January with still no call. At first I didn't think the timeline was odd because of the holiday. I called for a status update and could not get a clear answer. Eventually after multiple calls I was able to reach the tailor in March... who informed me that there were no instructions for the alteration so nothing had been done. I attempted to explain the alteration over the phone but was told that I needed to explain the job in person and that I needed to make an appointment. I made the 45 minute drive to the "appointment" where the tailor was hostile, gave me my jacket, and told me to leave. Also they lied about dry cleaning it, which I would have paid for. So in summary they had my jacket for 4 months, did absolutely nothing and returned it to me in the same condition it was left. At least they didn't ruin it or lose it.

Joy Cleaners has been one of the best. I came in after a week worth of laundry with a flight the next morning. I also want to add this: I have had some horrible experiences at other places where my clothing came back forever damaged, shrunk, stained, or treated like it did not matter. That did not happen here. Everything came back clean, folded, and handled with care, and it felt good coming back home to clothes that still looked like mine. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the people here are amazing seamstresses. I have done seaming and costume work for many years, but hemming chiffon and polyester sheer dress fabrics is a horrible task. Lana was super efficient and also very kind and fun to talk to. I only asked for the hem but she made sure it fit in the bust too and she said it looked perfect on the top. She marked the hem and told me it would be within the week, gave me a tag with the ready date. I came back and she gave me the dress, it looked amazing. It's still hideous in color and style, but the alterations are perfect. I will be returning for alterations to my wedding dress!
