Being treated differently from other customers and spoken to disrespectfully left a very bad impression. Customer service should be fair and consistent for everyone. The Christmas holiday went by and soon it was the end of January with still no call. At first I didn't think the timeline was odd because of the holiday. I called for a status update and could not get a clear answer. Eventually after multiple calls I was able to reach the tailor in March... who informed me that there were no instructions for the alteration so nothing had been done. I attempted to explain the alteration over the phone but was told that I needed to explain the job in person and that I needed to make an appointment. I made the 45 minute drive to the "appointment" where the tailor was hostile, gave me my jacket, and told me to leave. Also they lied about dry cleaning it, which I would have paid for. So in summary they had my jacket for 4 months, did absolutely nothing and returned it to me in the same condition it was left. At least they didn't ruin it or lose it.

From the very first appointment, I felt uncomfortable. During my initial consultation, Mario began cutting and altering my wedding dress before discussing pricing with me or obtaining my approval for the work. As a bride bringing in an expensive wedding gown, I was shocked that alterations were started without a clear conversation about costs beforehand. I ultimately paid $590 for alterations with the primary goal of improving the fit of the bodice. Unfortunately, when I picked up my dress, the fit of the top was not improved and actually felt more difficult to get into and wear than before. When I raised my concerns, I was told additional work could be done for another $600, which I found unbelievable given that the original issue had not been resolved. I was also quoted approximately $300 for a bustle on my relatively simple gown, which I declined because the price seemed excessive. Beyond the pricing concerns, I did not feel welcomed or valued as a customer. During my appointments, I often felt as though I was inconveniencing him by asking questions or discussing adjustments. Rather than feeling supported during an exciting time, I left feeling stressed and discouraged. As my wedding date approached, I had no choice but to find another alterations specialist. They graciously squeezed me into their schedule on short notice, treated me with kindness and professionalism, and were able to make the fit adjustments I had been asking for all along. Even more surprising, the additional work cost me roughly half of what Monetti had charged. The difference in both the quality of the work and the customer service was night and day. Of all the vendors I worked with during my wedding planning, this was by far the worst experience. A wedding dress is one of the most important purchases a bride will make, and I expected transparency, professionalism, and quality workmanship.
