I had two things - a halter top to take down a size, and a denim jacket to have a patch sewn on. Both things came out perfect!

AVOID BINH'S! I took my "mother of" dress in to be shortened and the hem was a total disaster! Uneven, longer in some areas, and I was unable to wear my dress in that condition. She also charged me for a double hem since my dress was lined however, she never hemmed the lining of my dress but charged me for it. She offered to do it again but there was absolutely no way I was going to risk it. I also took it back to show the lady...all of a sudden she couldn't understand me, gas lighted me accusing me of bringing in a different dress (not the original) and told me she didn't do this work! She is awful! Workmanship is unacceptable and I had to have it re-hemmed elsewhere. AVOID Binh's tailoring! Please don't make the same mistake I made. I'm now hearing more and more people who have had similar experiences with Binh's. How they are still in business I have no idea. And her cash only policy is not forthcoming or honest. I will never ever go back. read more

I recommend this business. I needed a patch put on a worn Carhartt jacket and it seemed that none of the tailor and alterations businesses were interested in doing small clothing repair jobs. Binh's was responsive to my needs and got my jacket fixed quickly and affordably. read more

I came to get a bridesmaids dress altered a month before the wedding. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer as they were fully booked with garments to alter. When I walked in with the dress there was a single modest fitting room. After I got changed into the dress Binh had me step up into the pedestal and he asked me how short I'd like it. He folded back the garment where I mentioned it. He had no problem adjusting higher or lower to how I wanted the length. After agreeing on the length he simply chalked at the length to cut. He told me to come back in three weeks. Then he showed me a calendar and asked which day I'd like to pick up the dress. I told him and he marked it down. I came back on the agreed date and the dress was ready for pick up. It fit perfectly and didn't look awkward at all. A great tailoring job! The best part was how quick and easy the entire process was. I was in and out in 10 minutes for the initial try on. Then it was a quick pickup and payment for the dress. I don't get many items tailored but I found the price to be fair for the times. If you're looking for a tailor who can do your job well and quick check out Binh's! read more

High-quality alterations, with very reasonable prices. This will be my go-to place from now on!

Bing's has always did good work for us. I have taken in many different materials to alter. Thank you so very much! Sharon and Thomas Pasic's read more

I came to Binh's tailoring looking for a last-minute bridesmaid's dress alteration. The alteration was pretty complicated - I needed the dress (which was made of satin with a side zipper and a built-in bra) to be let out around 0.5 inches in the ribcage and bust area. She got in done for me in 2 weeks, and the work was absolutely perfect! I was shocked. The dress now fits me perfectly, and looks exactly the same as before. The prices aren't cheap, but they are fair for the quality of work you receive. I'll continue coming here for all of my alteration needs! They are cash-only, so make sure to have some cash on hand when you pay. Thank you, Binh's! read more

Great work and expensive. There was also a long wait of two weeks. Decide if your piece is worth it and if its for something originally expensive and in the future, I'd recommend Binh's for the quality. read more

TEXTILE MASSACRE I'll start by saying this review took me a long time to write, but I truly don't want anyone else to go through this experience and lose their favorite pieces. I can't even imagine the absolute devastation if this happens to someone's wedding dress. What this lady did to my items aren't little "oopsies" or "creative workarounds" that an untrained eye wouldn't notice. I don't think "carelessness" is even strong enough a word to describe... DESTROYED my NEW WITH TAGS STILL ATTACHED $70 pants. 1. Needed these hemmed shorter. She was supposed to use an INVISIBLE hem, like they were originally made. Not a difficult request for a PROFESSIONAL TAILOR. They now have very visible and junk-looking puckered hem lines around the outsides. Cuffs look cheap inside and out. 2. Black marks on the front of waistband, from what looks like lubricating grease (commonly used on older sewing machines). When I asked her about the marks, she said they were from the hemming tape I used on the inside bottoms of the leg cuffs to set them at the length I wanted. These same black marks also appeared on my dress. The black marks are NOT from hemming tape. But it gets worse. 3. The right-side back of the pants now have a large watermark surrounding multiple yellow stains. Looks like "someone" spilled yellow saucy food on my pants, then tried to wash that spot off (remember, the pants still had the tag attached, so she couldn't put them in a washing machine). IT. GETS. WORSE. 4. There is now a large circular stain dead-center on the crotch of my pants. WHAT. THE. ****. Honestly, I'd rather not know. At this point, I knew I was left with a $70 cleaning rag. I was stunned. How is this possible? Isn't she a professional? Aren't your clothes supposed to look better after having them tailored? Did somebody pee my pants??? "Not me, not me, not me. That's from you." is all she said, when I showed her the stains. I was floored. The lying and gaslighting from this woman was next level. I have "before" pictures of these pants. They've never been worn. They've been hanging in my closet in a garment bag. I KNOW there were NO STAINS on these pants when I dropped them off. She created them, she KNEW about them (since she made some attempt to wash them out), and she was hoping I wouldn't notice. Unbelievable. Finally, she threw some $5s and $10s on the counter at me. $20 total, to be exact. Thanks, but the pants alone cost $70. I never even got to wear them. BUTCHERED DRESS During the drop-off fitting, I asked if she could remove the excess fabric that tied in the front of the (unlined) dress, and dart it down so it would still look cute and classy. She pinned it and seemed confident in what she was doing. If she knew she couldn't nicely do what I asked, why didn't she tell me? It is no longer a wearable item of clothing. Dust rag #2. When I got the dress home from the initial pick-up, it looked EVEN WORSE than the pictures show (pics are of the "fixed" dress). The darts went awkwardly out to the hips and came to a point on each side. I had two floppy hip triangles. I looked like I was going out for Halloween dressed as a lumpy stingray. She also re-hemmed the bottom using the same "technique" as the pants. And she hemmed it unevenly; it's supposed to be the same length all around! I really wish I had taken pictures of the stingray version, but I was in utter disbelief that this uneven, floppy, pointy, item - that used to be a dress - was the final product. So when I brought it back in, she "fixed" it. And now it looks like an uneven, pointy, potato sack. I now understand why she only accepts cash payments. And takes away the pick-up slip. And doesn't give a receipt for payment. From what I observed, this appears to be her standard operating procedure. There is no way to prove I was ever there, or dispute any charges for damaged goods. If she's totally comfortable screwing people out of their hard-earned money face-to-face, I can only imagine her level of integrity when she does her taxes. What I wanted: my clothes professionally tailored to look elegant, fitted, and classy. What I got: literal garbage. Like I actually have to throw these pieces into the garbage. She'll probably delete my review, or respond with a generic answer like: "I'm sorry you weren't satisfied with our services," or simply lie: "These stains were not our fault," or act like she fixed the problem: "I refunded your $20 for the pants" or something else that's useless BS that doesn't actually compensate me for what was ruined. My only hope at this point, is that this review will prevent at least one other person from going to Binh's "Tailoring" and having their garments destroyed. read more

I was referred to Binh's tailoring by one of my groomsmen who is a fashionista. I came here the first time to get one of my special occasion suits tailored and loved how it came out so much that I have gone back for shirts and my suit for my wedding. The alterations are immacualate!. read more

Vet,very timely service and met my needs. Happy to see an alteration business in Madison. The charge was more than fair.

I needed to get a bridesmaid dress altered and knew Binh's Tailoring was close by. Despite not having many reviews posted, I figured I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I Came in on a Saturday and they were able to help me right away. They had me out in 15 min and the dress was ready in less than a week. They quality of work was great too- I will certainly be back for any altering needs! read more

Great find. I've brought a number of suits, jackets, trousers and a tux in to be recut after loosing some weight. This a small one person shop but always has people coming and going. The owner and seamstress/tailor has an eye for detail and has done a great job on a variety of things I've brought in. Please note this is a cash only business - no checks or credit cards. read more

This place is amazing!!! I had a malfunction with my bridesmaids dress 3 days before the wedding and they got it done in 48 hours. She was able to let out the dress and hem it for me in that time. read more

I had to get a bridesmaids dress altered on short notice. Binh was willing to provide alternations and did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the dress! I would absolutely recommend!!!! read more

She pinned 3 of my Lily Pulitzer dresses and noted one was a bit uneven but pinned it to hem all 3. When I went to pick up all 3 dresses she did only 2 and cut up my third one and just left it claiming it was uneven. She literally ruined my Lilly Pulizer dress. Charges a lot of money for a hem too. Never go back to her ever again. read more

I had trousers to a suit taken in, with them being pinned while fitting. There being no rush, they were ready in a couple days.

Excellent quality of work and service. I've taken two long coats to be repaired and have their lining replaced, and both times I was really impressed by the material and colors she used. The new linings are incredibly tasteful, and she even added pockets inside the coat which made it more useful. She also did a minor repair of some pants and you can't even tell they were ever damaged. I would highly recommend this tailor to anyone who needs something fixed or altered for size. read more

We are so lucky to have such an exceptional caring tailor on the westside of Madison! I am a flight attendant and have had many uniform dresses altered to perfection. My airline is strict with requirements and Bihn's never disappoints! Thanks so much Bihn! read more

I brought two winter coats into Binh She demonstrated how she had fixed both, but one of them was not fixed. The zippers were the problem, and one of the zippers continued to malfunction. I will bring the the coat back to her and see how it goes to get it repaired. read more

They are masterful sewers. And have convenient hours. The skirt they hemmed for me had a train, yards and yards of material and 2 slips. I started hemming it myself by realized I needed their help. I highly, highly recommend them. read more

I don't usually need tailoring services but needed it since what I wanted fixed was a bit complex. I dropped of my garment and I gave her a week. I didn't see that it was fixed as I wanted and didn't want to spend more for her to fix the garment. In all honesty the sleeves should have been cut and then the cuff should have been added back to the sleeves. Anyway it seemed the cuff was moved a bit up but the sleeves were still dangling. I didn't want to over spend the second time so paid what was due and took the garment somewhere else. read more

I have been visiting Bihn for two years and have never been disappointed. Bihn has altered leather skirts, dress clothes for the office, and formal dresses for me -- she does it all! Binh did a great job. There are limited choices in Madison for tailoring so I was nervous about not being able to find a good person to tailor a new suit and 4 dress shirts. Binh listened to what I wanted and was able to get everything done in less than a week. On pick-up, I mentioned some things I didn't like that we didn't think of (for example taking in the shoulder of a shirt caused the chest to get tighter) and she fixed everything in a day. She's very respectful to your wishes and does everything with a smile. I recommend you go in knowing what you want. She can do minor recommendations but she also want to make sure you know what you want. Really happy I came to her. I'll be back. read more

Good service and excellent work! A bit more expensive than what I'd like to pay, but in comparison to others- great value for the work! Bihn's does a great job on any project! read more

I've brought in so much stuff to her, and she's done a perfect job every time! I've even brough in half finished projects I had no time to complete, and she'll get them done speedy and well. Really, all sorts of fabric (technical, outdoorsy stuff, silk, denim)- she's done it all. :D Be prepared though, she LOVES heels, and just cannot understand why on earth you would want pants hemmed to wear flats. They take checks, but really prefer cash. read more

Bihn is an expert. I take all my alterations to her. I love taking my clothes to her knowing she will tailor them just right.

Have been here dozens of times for small alterations, but never anything major. She does very good work, very friendly. Prices seem very off the cuff and are somewhat (respectfully) negotiable. read more

Worst job I've ever experienced with having a garment pressed and tailored! I had my fiancé vest and pants pressed before our wedding, I picked them up 2 days before and didn't really look at the garment, when my fiancé looked at his garment there where creases ironed into the pants and vest all over, and there where small white stains(looked like bleach) all over his pants!! I will never return here read more

Bought a dress for a gala. Was longer than I wanted but figured I would deal with it because I couldn't get anything tailored that quickly. It seems that I bring Binh new items every few weeks. She always knows exactly what to do on anything from fixing a gaping hole in my husband's jeans to making a formal gown fit just right. When I went to pick up my bridesmaid dress the woman couldn't find the dress. She was extremely unhelpful and eventually just told me to find it myself. Customer service was appallingly bad. It took 15 minutes before we eventually found the dress. Nearly gave me a heart attack since I NEED the dress for a wedding in May. I will never go back here. read more

While the work was decent, the service was not. Went in with a month and a half notice of a wedding for a bridesmaid dress to be altered. When I called to make an appointment for the fitting she said just come in whenever and hung up. She did accept my walk in later that week. She originally requested the dress be ready by the 18th and I explained that was cutting it a little close to the wedding she agreed and said the 12th and then we agreed upon the price which seemed reasonable for the amount of work being done. On the 12th when I came in she couldn't find my dress and then when she did she hadn't even worked on it yet and said she had forgotten and to come back tomorrow. I was flustered that the dress I had spent a few hundred on would now receive less quality work bc of the time crunch. With a month and a half time to work on it I would hope it wouldn't be done rushed the night before. Regardless I came back the next day and it was done but the straps were not fitting right. at this point I was beyond frustrated and figured i can deal with tight straps over trusting that it would be done with enough time. When I went to pay she still charged the same price and when I explained that it was late she said no it was early we agreed on the 18th when I pointed that the ticket had the 18th crossed off and the 12th was the date (right below it) she said nope the 18th price remains as same. I left very disgruntled, feeling like my dress and myself did not receive the best quality work. Would not recommend. - gave 2 stars bc hemming and taking in the sides did turn out very nice. But for $115 dollars I would've expected better service read more

Just got my bridesmaid dress done there and she did an excellent job!!! I needed it done within the next 3 weeks and she got it done for me in 1 week! I had her hem the dress and add bra cups. The dress has 2 layers: 1 sheer outer layer and 1 inner layer. Originally the layers were the same length, but this wonderful seamstress suggested making the inner layer shorter than the outer layer and it looks AMAZING like this! Now you can see my sparkly shoes through the sheer layer and I LOVE how it looks! Amazing work for an incredible price! I shopped around and she charged me $30 for the hem job while everyone else in the area quoted me a minimum of $50 for this dress! Bra cups look great! I provided my own cups. $15 for her to sew them in and she did a great job on that too! Highly recommend her! read more

Frankly I'm puzzled by all the negative reviews. I've been going here for a decade. Binh is pleasant, knowledgeable, and quick. I've never received subpar work. She's also the most affordable tailor I've found in the Madison area that does NOT do subpar work. read more
