The work they performed on a bridesmaid dress for my daughter was fine quality. However, when they tried to run my credit card it did not work. I gave another credit card and that also did not work. She demanded I pay in cash or check which I did not have. The woman working there did not let me see the iPad screen for the credit card payment so I can only assume she knew why it was not working. Will not be returning in the future. If a business does not want to accept credit cards for payment they should simply say that. Thank goodness for a nice woman who was picking up her garments and offered to pay for mine. I was able to easily Venmo her. read more

I brought several items in for alterations after reading the other reviews for Binh's. On the majority of my garments, the work was done fine. But two of the garments left something to be desired--the straps I had taken up ended up different sizes/lengths, while the cuffs on my pants were not recuffed, but sewn on in a sloppy way). Again, not bad overall--she was great about suggesting adjustments and a good length for a dress that I brought in--but I'm still in the lookout for a regular tailor. read more

I brought in 3 pieces of clothing to be repaired. It was $15 and the work was excellent! When I picked up the clothes, I dropped off another pair of jeans and she fixed them on the spot for free and refused a tip. It wasn't my first trip to binh's and it sure won't be my last! read more

I have a beautiful sequined/pearl dress that I needed altered at the last minute for my daughter's wedding. I took the dress in on the Saturday before the wedding and she had it done for me on Thursday. I did pay probably a bit more for the fast service, but given the details of the dress and the quick turn around time, it was well worth it. I'm petite and X-shaped - basically I'm short with a relatively narrow waist, with big broad square shoulders and hips to match. I had basically given up on anything that wasn't jersey-knit, because stretchy was the only thing that worked on my frame without billowing out over my midsection. Binh's has changed that in some amazing ways. I've brought her satin shells to alter, slacks to hem, structured button-downs to add darts to, and even a lined suit-jacket, which she nipped in at the waist and re-structured a bit above the bust to accommodate my shape (she did this wonderfully, even with the lining involved, and charged me $25). Took one pair of Brooks Brothers trousers to be hemmed. Tried them on when I picked them up and the length was as expected. Got them home and upon closer inspection, the fabric was scarred, the stitching visible and uneven. Absolutely subpar work. I haven't decided whether to contact the owner to complain, but I definitely will not take any other garments to this shop. read more

Even though the owner is really nice and service is fast, turnaround time is about a week. The alterations leave much to be desired. I've brought a pair of pants and a skirt to hem, and though the length was on point the sewing was very uneven. It was as though a five year old was given a turn on the sewing machine. It was that bad. As a result I had to to find another alteration service and still pay $ 20. If you value quality in your hems go somewhere else. read more

Binh's Tailoring did a great job on my bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding. It was a long bridesmaids dress, lots of detail on the top and I needed the shoulder straps shortened and the length altered. I went in, no appointment needed. The woman greeted me, had me try the dress on, pinned the dress. Asked me when I needed it, any time. I gave her two weeks. She had it done. When I arrived to pick it up, gave her my receipt, tried it on. The dress fit exactly the way she measured it. I paid and was out the door. The easiest, best experience I've ever had with alterations! She wasn't overly personable, but she was professional, nice (not rude whatsoever) and did a great job! Worst alterations I've ever had. I requested simple hemming of cotton knit t-shirts to duplicate the original double-line of stitching. She didn't tell me she doesn't own a double-needle machine. The resulting stitching wobbled and varied from 1/4 to 3/4" apart. What's more, the thread color didn't match--she used green on an blue-grey t-shirt and navy on a teal shirt, for example. A tank top that needed straps shortened did not have the original serged selvage duplicated; she simply put in single lines of stitching, cut the raw fabric edge off ridiculously close to the stitching, and didn't even bother to tie and clip the thread ends. She doesn't backstitch at the start and finish of a line of stitching, so it can easily unravel. That was $10 for 10 minutes of crap work. I also brought in a very cool, not replaceable embroidered jacket for shortening. The jacket was ruined because she hemmed right through the bottom of the pockets! Surely she must have noticed the problem when she pinned the hem, and should have moved the hem down an inch. When I complained, she said she would find the cut-off fabric and repair the problem. I couldn't see how, but asked her to locate the fabric. I spent half an hour going through every box of scrap fabric in the shop without success, before she told me her son had already discarded the previous week's scraps. Her English language skills are so poor that I never felt sure she understood what the problems were. To her credit, she did reimburse me for the cost of the jacket, but it was disappointing to lose it. DO NOT GO TO THIS TAILOR! Our usual tailor, Alpine on Monroe St., was too busy for my rush order. She does BEAUTIFUL, perfect work every time. My bad for waiting too long to get this order in and going to a new shop without checking for reviews. read more
