4/5 stars because of the portions. Service is very fast. Parking is easy, they have a lot in the side. Prices are a little bit higher... Food takes around 15 mins or so to cook. Drinks are self serve. Thai thai aren't that great. Food is amazing but the portion size is such a turn off. I understand why meat would expensive but when you're changing $6 for just garlic noodles and it doesn't look pleasing to the eye. The banh mi are really good though. $1.50 extra for a fried egg. I also ordered popcorn chicken. NOT KIDDING... my fist wouldn't get full off of it. Pork meat are delicious...but again, the portion size is so bad. I just wish they realized alot of people eat with their eyes before their mouths. It dissatisfieds them before even tasting. I hope the owners sees all the complaints about the portion sizes and works on it. But I do still think the food quality is worth 5 stars. read more

Foodie friend Charlie and I went to a movie in Orange and when we got out, it was pretty late and we were hungry. After searching around, we found Nguyen's Kitchen with no expectations. Nguyen's Kitchen was counter service with an open kitchen. It was kind of cool to be able to see how the food was made in front of us. Drinks and sauces were self serve but I didn't like where they we're located. Sauces were tasty and went well with the dish. Since we were hungry, we went yolo on the food even though it was past 10 pm. I got the grilled pork sandwich and garlic noodles with bulgogi short rib steak. Friend got crawfish pasta and NK chicken wings. We decided to share the food after we ordered. When I saw the chicken wings, I didn't think it was going to be amazing or anything. However after biting into the wing, I got it. The wings were fried crispy and what really stood out was the green signature sauce. At first it was sweet then the spiciness kicked in. It was a really good utility sauce that can be used anywhere, but I wish it was less sweet. The grilled pork sandwich was very tasty. Pork was marinated well and not over cooked. It was a basic banh mi with quality meat. The crawfish pasta was unexpectedly delicious. It had crawfish tails and spicy sausages swimming in tomato cream marinara sauce. It was too bad not much crawfish tails were given, but the flavor was spot on with a tad of spiciness into the dish. This really could go well with any kind of seafood out there. The garlic noodles came in a little short. The chopped garlic were stucked at one spot so the garlic flavor was not distributed equally and the beef were dry and chewy. It wasn't a horrible dish, but based on what we got for the night, this one would never be ordered again. Overall experience was very good. The counter service was friendly and personal. A good spot for some tasty comfort food. The best dish we had was the crawfish pasta. It was AMAZING. A perfect blend of crawfish and spicy sausage. It was packed full of flavor but not too salty. I could have eaten the whole thing myself without getting sick of it. Their sandwiches are packed with meat and the grilled pork is DELICIOUS! Definitely get the grilled pork - you will be glad you did. Popcorn chicken is nice and crisp and I love the crunch and the dipping sauce (the ranch balances out the spiciness of the seasoning). Personally, I prefer larger chunks for my popcorn chicken though. I'd try their Cajun garlic fries next time. The garlic noodles have a nice texture and I didn't feel like they were too oily like I've had at other restaurants. It didn't have too strong of a flavor, so you can enjoy it with their spicy green sauce. We got one garlic noodle with shrimp (yum! but not sure if it's that worth it with 4 pieces) and one garlic noodle with bulgogi beef. The bulgogi beef was probably my biggest disappointment of the night - it was hard and dry. The positive is that they don't skimp on the amount of bulgogi they give. They have some nice drink choices to go with the meal. The Thai tea isn't too sweet, and the peach lychee green tea is super refreshing! I wish they had boba but I was already full enough as it was from all the food. If not so stuffed, I'd be tempted next time to get a Brick macaron icecream sandwich ($3.72 each). The interior is minimalist and simple but has a nice hipster aesthetic. We went for a weekday dinner and when we first arrived, it was empty, which made me a little worried. But happily, that many good reviews doesn't lie. More people came but it was never packed. That just means more parking spaces and less of a wait time for me! The garlic noodles with Bulgogi were a bit on the sweeter end, but that's probably because of the Bulgogi. The crawfish pasta was pretty spicy once you got into the sausage. Make sure you really toss and mix up your noodles in the sauce, otherwise your pasta bites will be bland. The sauce for the crawfish pasta was really good. The sandwich was delicious, and so were the fries. Bread was the perfect texture. Lots of cilantro, and pickled veggies. I think it has mayo too. The fries are on the softer end with some great flavor. Popcorn chicken at medium was spicyyyyyy! There are no public bathrooms at this time. After reading all the reviews, we had to check this place out. The parking lot is a bit small, but it's just enough to accomadate this small establishment. We ordered the short rib bahn mi sandwhich with Cajun garlic fries and Garlic noodles with chicken thighs for my kids. The bread on the sandwhich was soft! The meat and onions were ok, the pickled vegetables could've been pickled more. The garlic noodles was not that good. It was super oily and mushy. The chicken tasted like shrimp! Yuck! I saw they cook everything on the flat top, but I'm not sure if they use the same cooking vessel for both shrimp and chicken. It didn't even taste like chicken. It tasted like shrimp and had that shrimpy after taste. My kids didn't thought it was weird. The Garlic fries was the only best thing here. Lots of garlic (which I like). Some truly bomb ass Asian fusion food is served here! Located close to CHOC hospital, small spot and limited parking, but worth the drive for us! Came here after Disneyland one late night. If they advertise something with jumbo prawns then I would think jumbo prawns is what I'd be getting... not some sized 21/25 shrimp,.. I've been here a couple times, but it had been a while. I was craving garlic noodles so I thought that this was the perfect place to go to! I came on a Saturday night for dinner, and the place was actually pretty crowded. We got the grilled pork sandwich and garlic noodles with bulgogi steak. The sandwich was delicious. I forgot how good their sandwiches are, especially with the sauce that they put on it. Their green sauce is really spicy. It hits you pretty hard if you're not used to eating spicy things, but I love spicy!!! The pork meat was juicy and very flavorful. The garlic noodles were also super flavorful. The noodles seemed a little too soft and overcooked though. And the bulgogi steak didn't have that much flavor so it didn't stand out. I had to dip the meat in the green spicy sauce to give it more flavor. Overall though, the noodles had the perfect amount of garlic flavor, which is a loooot of garlic!! I like this restaurant because you order at the register and then sit down and wait for your number to be called. I wasn't quite sure what the theme of this restaurant was. It was some sort of fusion, but I wasn't exactly sure how the dishes worked in terms of their "fusion-ness". There seemed to be a lot of different types of flavors from Thai to Korean to Taiwanese, but there was no congruency? I got the feeling that this was an attempt at diversity but fell short due to the paucity of items on their menu. The staff was friendly enough. They were helpful in explaining what the dishes were like to give me a better understanding of the flavours/style. I wish there was a better guide to help us navigate through the items they were offering. I got the chicken garlic noodles, and it tasted okay, but it definitely wasn't anything what the description was like. I noticed that there was a lot of frozen uncooked meat placed on the bench, which was a little strange to me. I saw that they made the food fresh and right away, which would have been cool to watch if the place wasn't so cramped and non-conducive to the display. However, I would imagine the pre-sectioned meats to be safely stored in a freezer or refrigerator prior to cooking if not needed immediately. I'm not sure what the policy is or maybe they were planning to have a catering event that day, but I had no idea how long those meats had been sitting out there in the open, room temperature air. I also noticed that the drink dispenser was broken, and I couldn't get water. I tried to flag the servers a few times to notify them, but they seemed too preoccupied with making food? To be completely honest. I really didn't like the food. I got garlic noodles with chicken thighs, egg roll, Vietnamese ice coffee. The egg roll was so hard it felt like it was still frozen. The noodles were just mushy and oily, the only flavoring was sweet that stood out. The coffee had so much condensed milk that you would never know there was coffee in it and it coated your mouth so much, I needed to drink a lot of water to rinse it out. I understand the concept but I felt the delivery is just underwhelming and unfortunate. Changed to 1 star my mom and I both got food poisoning. Sad but true. read more

If this place were located in my area, I'd be in trouble because I'd be eating here all the time. I love burgers, and the sliders here are awesome. You get 2 for just over $5, which is well worth coming back for and can easily replace a normal burger serving. The chicken wings are also really good. Although I wasn't a fan of the garlic noodles or short rib bowl (more like luk lak bowl), I'd come back for the sliders and wings easily. The peach green tea drink was also really good. Def recommend those items if you're planning on stopping by. Its next to CHOC, so it shouldn't be hard to miss. Parking might be a squeeze on some nights, but mostly I never had a problem. Had this place bookmarked for awhile and came here after studying at Chapman U, it didn't disappoint my taste buds. Ordered the shrimp rice bowl which came with a well seasoned salad with a bunch of yummy, garlic noodles ($5.95) each plus $3.95 for 4 JUMBO shrimp these things are huge each one is at least an ounce!! Ordered egg rolls (no fish sauce or salad so it's Americanized, $1.95 for 2) and chicken wings Ask for samples of their fountain drink up front the mango lychee is damn delicious. 3.5 points total rounding up because the cashier was honest and said $4 for a macoron isn't with it and if you sit at the bar at this location near the cooking kitchen, if you put your hand underneath the table there is a hook to hang your purse! Genius and very considerate, way to go Nguyens kitchen! Minus one point: your Vietnamese iced coffee is lacking. I'm paying $3.95 for a 14oz cup, it wasn't all the way filled up so if I'm buying it for a coworker or loved one togo: they'll think i took a sip out of it and feel ripped off! And why isn't your banh mi sandwich posted on the menu? Came here at 11:00pm and service was quick but i suspect if i were to come here at noon, this place would be packed with doctors and nurses other admin getting in their order before going back to their shifts since its right next to a big hospital. Tried this delicious Vietnamese place while visiting my sister in California. They are open late which was great since my flight got diverted from Santa Ana to LAX. We went around 12:30 AM. The service was pretty quick. They are known for their garlic noodles. We ordered the garlic noodles with chicken breast, popcorn chicken, sliders with onions and mushrooms and their home made Thai tea. The Thai tea was delicious! It was one of the best I have had. Living in Hawaii I have tried plenty. The garlic noodles were very flavorful, and they put a good amount of chicken mixed in with the noodles. I highly recommend this dish. The sliders were tasty and flavorful topped with onions and mushrooms, you didn't need any condiments. Staff were friendly and they have a rewards program. Reasons for the 4 stars is that they forgot to put my popcorn chicken in the bag. I had to go back the next day to pick it up after a day at Disney land. The good thing again was that they were open late. When I went to pick up the popcorn chicken which was seasoned with mild spice. Most of the dishes I tried came off sweet and I like more of a savory taste. Green sauce: awesomely garlicky and has a kick but has a sweet after taste. Honey? Brown sauce: super sweet. Chicken wings: really juicy and fried nicely but came with the above sauces already on it. Next time I would ask for no sauces and dip it in sriracha. Cajun pasta with hot dog and crawfish: creamy but sweeeeet. My least favorite dish. Garlic pasta with shrimps is the best one as it's the least sweet dish but unfortunately was my friend's so I couldn't eat more :) Fries with egg and meat: the meat was just so sweet it made the whole dish sweet. The flavors were very bold and packed a punch, but definitely a little less authentic and more fusion, which is fine as well. The drinks were awesome and tasty. The service was decently quick. Located near the hospital, this restaurant definitely will get much foot traffic. I tried the garlic noodles with an egg and bulgogi. The dish was good but nothing too special. I wish they had used fattier cuts of meat for the bulgogi since the meat came out a little tough. The crawfish pasta was also just ok. The sauce did not draw me in. Perhaps cooking with shrimp heads to draw out a little more unctuous mouthfeel. Overall, the food is decent but nothing too extraordinary. This place was a-OK. Pricing was on the higher side. $3.50 for a peach lychee tea... majority was ice. $7 for a grilled pork banh mi! Wow. The rice bowl came with a "salad" but mine didn't have any dressing? Or if it did, it tasted very plain. Every dish came with this "green sauce". The smell of food being cooked will hit you right as you enter so your clothes may smell like the food when leaving. Everything on their menu is well seasoned so def try everything. Had just finished the Night Nation Run at the Angels stadium and wanted something close by and that was open late, and my friend came across Nguyen's Kitchen. I didn't look at the menu so i was expecting the typical Vietnamese pho restaurant, but instead it was more of a Vietnamese-fusion which I loved. The restaurant is small but it had a great feel and look to it. I also love that their menu is small cause it makes it easier to choose from. We ordered the following: Wings and Cajun fries: wings were just ok, I've had better. Fries were great. Park banh-mi sandwich - fantastic! Bread was soft too.
