We were in search of something to eat late one night and came across this place and I'm glad we did! We walked in around 10:00pm and it was pretty empty, customer service was welcoming and the place was very clean. I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken and a side of egg rolls. Both were delicious, I do wish there were more protein options with the egg rolls but the pork ones are good. It took about 15 minutes or so for our food to be ready, we took it to go but there are a few tables if you choose to dine in. There is plenty parking available, so that's a plus. Was in town for a meeting and pictures of this place looked promising. Well it was okay. Chicken was flavourful. And this green diarrhoea looking hot sauce was on the side. Pretty good didn't try the teriyaki sauce cuz chicken had flavour. Place looks like a little spot with two things inside one side is for ordering little desert bowls like juice it up. And the other side is where you order food. Owners probably wanted a açai spot and food spot and decided to just have both. lol place is nothing to brag about tho. My bowl came with regular salad nothing special like I said the chicken was flavoured well....but that's about it. If you're in town try it. I didn't get to try the bulgolgi beef. Story time: Had a late night flight from Boston to LAX, and I was starving like a mother trucker! Hopped on Yelp to see what was still open and all my regular spots in the area were already closed for the night. Did a little more digging and saw that there is now a Nguyen's Kitchen in the area and they are "OPEN CRAZY LATE!" So off to Nguyen's Kitchen I go! I've been hooooked on the garlic noodles dish. I've tried it with the grilled chicken, grilled pork, and the bulgogi short rib steak. Zomgoodness the garlic noodles are so bomb! Love the taste! We've ordered Nguyen's Kitchen before from a delivery app, but we wanted to try it in-person today. This place is a 2 for 1, because you can get dinner AND dessert. It is located in a cluster of shopping plazas by the Carson IKEA, and parking was super abundant. When you enter the building, the counter you are facing belongs to Pur Bowls: Acai Bowls. Head towards the left-hand side to order from Nguyen's Kitchen. There are cute little booths inside, and the establishment is really clean. There was a steady stream of customers ordering from both places during the hour we spent there (we arrived at 9 PM on Thanksgiving Eve). Our order today was garlic noodles with bulgogi steak, the crawfish pasta, and a peach lychee tea. Dog dad and I were huge fans of the crawfish pasta, but both of us felt it needed more pasta to balance out the loads of crawfish and sausage, but maybe the two of us are just noodle addicts (they don't skimp on giving you meat here). The garlic noodles were delicious, but you probably won't like this dish if you don't like black pepper. Came here for lunch with a friend without expecting much and was surprised by how good the experience was! There's an acai place in the same spot so make sure you look for the Nguyen's Kitchen TV menus - you need to order under that instead of the acai bar. Price point is great for the portions - my pork bahn mi was HUGE and they gave me 2 different sauces. The hoisin-like sauce was great with the bahn mi, the green sauce is mildly spicy (to me) and went well with the meat. Half the sandwich filled me up easily. The fries were decent, they serve it hot. My friend got the shrimp bowl and they gave her a lot of shrimp. We both got a drink and everything came out to $45+tip. This is great for all the stuff that we got! I don't think I would return to this location. The staff was a little off. One kept eyeing me while she was eating lunch from way afar and the other one in the kitchen as well. The cashier was viewing my debit PIN number as I was trying to pay via tap but their internet was down and I couldn't pay by card so ending up paying cash. It was very uncomfortable and the sun made the seats extremely hot. There's no Asian worker so the quality of the Asian fusion food was not good. There's no ownership of the food. My noodles were so broken, I didn't have any strands at all picking up with chopsticks. I didn't like that there were no napkin dispensers on the tables. Is this Starbucks of Vietnamese food? Is it really an expense to have napkin dispensers at the tables and how was I suppose to know that I had to throw away my food at the trash can when it's all the way on the other side? The worst parts were the pickled daikon/carrots - tasted like it went bad and was the bottom of the barrel, worst my wife and I have ever had and we frequent Vietnamese food, not refreshing at all. My issue and pet peeve is when a restaurant charges more for ordering via their website than when you call in or order in person. I have a real issue when they don't disclose this as you are ordering. As you might have guessed, I placed an order online and immediately got a confirmation from Grubhub. My heart sank as I knew that I had somehow paid fees that were not disclosed upfront. Showed up and it turns out I was charged between 50 cents and a dollar more per item. Wow. This place is amazing. It's dangerously close to my home and it's open late in Carson. I didn't want burgers or tacos. We got the pork bowl and steak garlic noodles to go. Soooo much flavor and the portions are pretty large and the food was made pretty quick. Spent about $30 for 2 entrees. There were so many people there dining in and outside at 11pm. The ambiance was great and I found this place on yelp. I had really high hopes for the place after reading the reviews and I figured garlic noodles is a favorite for the kids and I. I ordered the two garlic noodles with shrimp and the Cajun garlic fries w/o Cajun incase it was too spicy for the kids. My entire order was togo not sure if that matters but the fries were fresh and amazing. The shrimp was very good with lots of flavor. The garlic noodles were horrible, lacking flavor, they were stuck together and the entire dish was on the cold side. Definitely needed some extra sauce and even after heating the dish up it was no success on taste. The drive from the restaurant was not far only to Carson. However, once we returned home the noodles were tasteless, cold, dry, and hard while stuck together. read more

The Cajun french fries has a nice crispness. We added bulgogi meat which were tasty but might be a little salty. We also ordered the pork rice bowl. The pork reminded me of how my mom makes it which is a plus. All our dishes came with a green spicy sauce. There's a good kick to it but might be a little too spicy for some. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I ordered.. Maybe, I'm just a snob? Or, maybe it was just ok.. Either way, I'm unsatisfied. I phoned in right at opening. Picked up my food 30m later. Food was still warm. Fries were soggy from being enclosed in the tray, but I threw them in an air fryer and they were revitalized. Let's start with the wings.. although juicy, they were tiny! I was expecting these fat-sized wings based on the photos on Yelp.. but they were so small. It'd be equivalent to a guy saying he's 6' tall, but really he 5'9. The sauce is ok. It's kinda like a sweet cilantro-jalapeño, [maybe some sriracha] cream sauce. But, since the wings come unseasoned/flavored I guess it'll do. I asked for light Cajun on the fries because I know they usually come Cajun-heavy, but where's the garlic? I wanted that stank breath. But, I barely tasted anything but Cajun. I don't think they were even salted! (Also, the amount of fries to the amount of wings given is hugely disproportionate. Can you have too much fries?) And, the garlic noodles with shrimp was garlic noodles with shrimp. Pretty standard for what you'd get at any Asian-fusion noodle spot. Luckily, it wasn't overtly greasy or oily. But, I'd say the shrimp was far from "jumbo" if that was advertised as such. The price for all three items (plus 15% tip) came out to be around $39. Pretty pricey if you ask me. Considering I got tiny wings and a boatload of fries and whatever noodles. I think if I wanted better wings and fries I'll just get wingstop or BWW across the street. We use to come here when they first opened and management was more of a presence. We stopped going because food service standards are sketchy at best (at night*). Listening is an essential part of service so in my mind when you order something, (and its confirmed on the receipt) AND the wrong items come out of a late night not-busy kitchen it hardly seems worth the effort for soggy bread and overcooked and salty meat. Make no mistake, the food use to be consistent but is now subpar at best - especially lately at night as you can tell the the staff is just passing time. Add that to the fact that you can't be sure if you are going to get what you ordered (and that's a minimum expectation), you are in for a gastrointestinal disappointment. **Notice that at night everyone is in line for Acai bowls and not the "kitchen". This place checks all the buttons for me. They have Bahn mi with pork and bulgogi, garlic noodle bowls, rice bowls, viet coffee and açaí bowls. I got the garlic noodle bowl with pork and the spicy dusted chicken nuggets for later. Both were really good. Really enjoyed the spicy dust on the almost sweetly breaded thigh bites. Both sauces that came with it slapped. I will say the garlic noodles can stand on their own as a meal. The pork was fatty, marinated and delicious. FYI fatty pork to me is a good thing, quit fronting. Maybe the most important thing was the richness of their viet coffee, often places serve you a watered down cold brew or something overly sweet with no real coffee bite or flavor. This place has a really good rich, sweet, but still strong coffee flavor. It is only second to Nam Phuong in Atlanta. Really wanna come back and try the Bulgogi Bahn mi. read more

Came here to order food to go. I ordered Golden Bao, Popcorn Chicken, Garlic Noodles with Shrimp and Crawfish Pasta. Gave my orders to the cashier and she asked me how spicy. I told her no spice for all orders. She said "I meant for the popcorn chicken", I replied "no spice". Came home and the Crawfish Pasta was super spicy and my kids were not able to eat it. Not sure why the lady did not warn me as I even mentioned no spice for all orders as it was mostly for my kids. The Golden Bao was good that I could come back for that. Not ordering the Garlic Noodles again because it tasted like smoke. Popcorn chicken is a few big bits but mostly small bits like almond and peanut sizes. Some of the best food I have tasted from a restaurant in Carson. The rice bowls are too good. The bulgogi beef is addicting. The pork buns had me stuffing my face.
