I opted for the chicken, with white rice and a salad. The portion sizes were pretty good, and the food was not overly salted or too dry (as is the problem with a lot of places). To drink, I had the iced tea. The price is not too bad, it fall just shy of $10. The portion size is enough to keep me full for a few hours. This is great, as I have a habit of eating every 4 hours. They have great teriyaki sauce or if like it spicy they offer their own hot sauce. They give you plenty of food from chicken, veggies to a Korean bbq meat. In my opinion, Flame Broiler is the better quality version of Yoshinoya. The menu is pretty similar with only two options being beef or chicken. Typically, I like getting the half chicken and half beef plate with a salad and oranges. Most people have the assumption that Flame Broiler is "healthy". Yeah it doesn't have much saturated fat and it's high in protein and carbs for those who workout, but a half and half plate still has 850 calories, 820 mg of sodium, and 185 mg of cholesterol. To put that in perspective... If you are going off of a 2,000 daily calorie diet then that's around 40% of your daily calories, 35% of your daily sodium and 60% of your daily cholesterol. So it's far from "healthy", but like I said, it's high in protein and carbs for those who workout a lot. Anyway, Flame Broiler is a decent meal that is filling and tastes pretty good. I like mines with teriyaki and hot sauce. It makes it taste a lot better! read more

Recently stopped by this brand new location to see how it is. The first time I ever had Flame Broiler I had it in SD, and probably the tiniest location ever. The last time I had it was at the Hacienda Heights location, and it was just horrible... the brown rice was still hard and the chicken just did not have the right flavor, so I stopped going to Flame Broiler in LA, but decided to check the new spot out. It is a good way to eat somewhat healthy, especially in Gardena, where there's so many delicious eateries around, but not necessarily healthy. I went for the Chicken bowl with extra chicken and brown rice. The chicken is in small circular chunks, which is a little different from the SD location, which is with chopped up pieces. MUCH better than the Hacienda location though since the brown rice was cooked right and when the extra teriyaki sauce pours down to the rice, it is just so easy to scarf it up. The teriyaki sauce is still the best at Flame Broiler. For some reason I just can't get enough of the sauce. My chicken bowl with extra meat turned out to be around $8.50. Very pricey, especially for a chicken bowl, and in a city where you can get a nice lunch for the same price at other Japanese/Hawaiian eateries, but it does come with a drink so I guess the price covered that. The place is new, so it is very clean and comfortable for a quick lunch. Seems like the owners are Korean and they are very nice! Never thought that it would eventually grow to a fairly big chain, but I liked Flame Broiler in college and it was almost ruined by the Hacienda Heights location. Wouldn't mind coming back to Flame Broiler, but not quite yet part of my lunch rotation! read more

Never tried this fast food chain out. Glad I finally did at one of the newest locations. It's clean, speedy, and the cashier was friendly. So much better than Yoshinoya and those gross teriyaki joints in malls. And yeah better than Rascal's too; it never won me over in all my years in the G! A much needed break from sandwiches and fast food burgers when I'm making an auto parts run. Get the green onion topping. And the mini-bowl is great for a light snack / meal. read more

I'm very disappointed in this location's Covid and cleanliness practice. The young lady that took my payment, also went in the easily viewed area where the kitchen is and helped plate up my order with with her bare hands after handling money/ credit cards. She didn't wash them. Also the cook wore no mask..... during these Covid times . When I asked her to give me another lid and container because she didn't wash her hands, she got an attitude as if SHE was offended. Very disappointed . I won't be back! read more

I enjoy eating Flame Broiler, But the pregnant woman with the red colored eyebrows is really rude and she doesn't greet any customers. I just heard one customer greet her with a smile just so she can respond with a "Hi." She is even rude to the new trainee at the register. I may just travel to the F.B in Torrance because she is a mess. On a brighter note, food is well done and there is parking. No minimum on condiments. Prices have went up in the last year though. $6.25 for a mini chicken bowl. The 2 stars is just for the bowl. read more

I had heard about this chain for a while now but never went to one because I didn't have one near by. This specific one is fairly new and I can tell you I'm thankful for it opening in my city. The food is good and is a healthy option instead of a greasy plate or a burger. The service is good as well. Their friendly and have your order ready in no time. My fav item to order is the works bowl which consist of beef and chicken on top of a bed of steamed vegetables and your choice of brown or white rice. There's also this sauce they call Magic Sauce and I must say it's very tasty and goes perfectly with your rice. In all this is a good place to grab a good and tasty lunch. read more

I like this location because it's next to a jamba juice so it's easy for me to come into this wonderful restaurant and eat "healthy" only to exit and drink sugars in an abundant amount. This location was clean when I visited it, the woman behind the cash register was extremely delightful and the bathroom was behind a locked door which meant it was clean. Don't blow it up though because it's right in front of the kitchen and you'll have to walk the gauntlet through the droves of seating to get back to the front door. My first two experiences here at flame broiler were not great. The first time, I did not really like how the food tasted. The second time, I got a very bad stomach ache from the food. I decided three strikes and I'm done! The third time was SOOO good. I guess I just got very unlucky the previous times. I'm glad I gave this place a second chance because it has become one of my go-to spots for lunch/dinner. What I love about this place is the white or brown rice option. And no extra charge if you want either or. Also, I always get extra green onions and there is no extra charge on that either. Can't get better than that!! Please do not compare flame broiler to Waba Grill......They are not even in the same league as Flame Broiler is muchhhh better. Flame broiler is a healthy choice and this location is always a joy. The cashier (same guy every time, who I assume is the owner) is so nice and always gets my order right. Sometimes there is a bit of a line and a subsequent wait but things move pretty quickly.
