Food was dry. Guy cashier served with an attitude, then sat and got right back on his phone when he was done cashing me out.

Most unfriendly owner I have seen. First time I went to that one too.Maybe that's why it never looks busy.

If you're not coming to Sausalido Cafe you're missing out on more than just great tasting food!…read more I've been here a few times and the owner, Julius, is always there greeting you when you first walk in, welcoming you with a genuine "hello" and bright smile whether it's your first time or you've been before. I stopped in on a Tuesday for lunch and knew I was going to get the curry puffs. The last time I ordered these I was with a friend and had to share but not this time. I was on a solo lunch and looking forward to the puffs! To say they are "perfect" seems insufficient. They were fried incredibly well, hot, crunchy, tasty, but never greasy. And these little puffs were filled with minced beef, potatoes, and seasoning! For my main dish, I chose the dragon noodles (pad thai) with chicken. All the veggies in the dish were cooked perfectly, nothing too mushy, just the right amount of crunch/bite to the cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. And the chicken was chunky! And while I loved everything about the dish, the sprinkling of the crushed peanuts was *chef's kiss*. There's no skimping on those peanuts here. As I write this I'm excited for the leftover noodles waiting for me. When you walk into Sausalido you really do feel welcomed. The space is unassuming in the best way possible. Posters of the drinks they offer (coffee, smoothies, boba) adorn the walls, along with pictures of the various food items they have. The restaurant is across the street from Alondra Park and there are other businesses in the center. So, if you need to do your laundry do that and grab a meal at Sausalido. Get a massage and then get food at Sausalido. Get your nails done and head next door to Sausalido for a treat. Get here and get here quick!

This is in a little food court, but a high quality food court. There are so many great options here! Theres a parking lot, and plenty of seating inside and outside. It's a causal spot, nice and clean with plenty of options. You place your order at the counter (you can use the ipad to order, except if you want the Fak'ed up fries, those you need to order with an employee). The shrimp - I could eat these forever. Holy toledos these are so good. I got the karaage chicken with the cheehoo teri sauce. The sauce is soooooo bomb. The chicken is perfectly cooked. And the red noon is the perfect addition of acidity. The Mac salad was great, stick to your ribs kinda good Now I ordered several other plates for my friend, including the teriyaki chicken, and the fak'ed up fries with shrimp and karaage chicken. He said the fak'ed up fries were fire, so good, he didn't even know that's exactly what he wanted. I have to come back to try them - I didn't know they were a thing bc they're not on the menu. But after I placed my original order I saw a video of the fak'ed up fries on their board and they looked so good, I had to buy them for him. I also got him the crispy spam musubi and the POGua Fresca, and he loved those. I will definitely DEFINITELY be back here!

There are a lot of new options and unfortunately no more chicken katsu. After my previous review, the owner actually reached out and offered to have me come back and try the food again, which I genuinely appreciated. I never took them up on the free food offer because I prefer to keep reviews honest, but the gesture still stood out to me. This time I ordered the 2-item combo with the honey sesame chicken karaage and kalua pork. The karaage was easily my favorite part of the meal. It was crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I asked for all the sauces on the side and the green sauce paired really well with it. The kalua pork was tender, but a little sweeter than I personally prefer for traditional kalua pork, so I'd probably try a different protein next time instead. I also grabbed a spam musubi, but the portions were so generous that I didn't even get around to eating it until I got home later. While I still miss the old chicken katsu, I get that menus evolve, and overall this visit was a much better experience than my previous one.

I love coming here, as the food is consistently great. The brisket is really tasty and they give you a good portion of it. Soup is always hot, not lukewarm which I appreciate. I genuinely think their sullungtang is the best I've had! I was really happy that this time, they had purple rice. The past few times, they only had white rice, so this was such a great change! Not sure why they were out of the purple rice for so long, but glad that it's back! Banchans are great with unlimited refills! Service: the couple that runs this restaurant are welcoming with good customer service. Parking: This place is located in a plaza, so there are a lot of parking spots available right out front which makes it convenient. The interior opens into some countertop seating with a waitress stand to the left. Behind the waitress stand is more seating overlooking the open kitchen where you can take in the sights and smells of the employees working on their craft. The interior is decorated simply and cleanly with wall decorations but most of the focus drawn to the kitchen. I ordered the avocado cream cheese (with onion and bacon) spaghetti. The avocado and cream cheese tag teamed into a creamy coating on the noodles with a tang from the cheese and a richness from the avocado. The onion and bacon added some necessary contrast, crunch, and meatiness to the meal. The noodle texture is excellent with a nice snap. Unfortunately, it does reach a point where the cheese becomes too rich to consume and I found myself requiring breaks before resuming. All in all, a very good meal and a definite recommend in the area for the experience.

The salad was too watery for my taste (but for a dollar, I guess I can't complain too much about that). The spaghetti with Japanese clam sauce was bland. The pasta itself was well cooked. It had the right firmness and mouth feel. However, it lacked flavor and was sitting in a pool of soup, which I didn't enjoy at all. I tried my wife's Carbonara. It wasn't that much better. It had pieces of bacon on it, but they weren't crispy like I expected them to be. They were soft, like they had been poached. I did find the service here to be quite good (the server was nice and the service was speedy), but not enough to give this place a higher rating.
