Roberto came out, did a blower test, comprehensive walk thru with the thermal camera and we talked about issues and what solutions would work. We came up with a plan. Got started, and discovered an issue. We got together and pivoted to a very workable solution to get the job done. Work was completed well, quickly, and when they were done they cleaned so well you'd never know they were there. Very pleased with the results. Very pleased with their professionalism and ability to find solutions. Couldn't recommend any more strongly!!

I told the rep that other companies have inspected our home and stated that our walls are suitable for blown in insulation. ARC never came to visit our home - while their competitors did this as a standard account management cycle. Fast forward to this week, I was ready to sign the agreement and pay the deposit - the rep asked me to confirm the 2x4 framing. I asked him how he wanted me to do this - he suggested I drill pilot holes in each wall or pay a 3rd party to do this and that ARC was not responsible for verifying the details of our home. Not responsible for validating a critical project detail before having you customer pay thousands of dollars?! Extremely poor customer service and frankly, a lazy sales team. I am sure the crews doing the work are great, but the accounts team could use a refresh. I will work with a competitor unless ARC has employees willing to visit their prospective customers!

We implemented them, were still have a couple issues, and they were able to help us resolve them. Needless to say I went from expensive energy bills to manageable, too hot in winter to just right and too humid in summer to perfectly balanced. They take the time to do a thorough investigation and do it right. If you're having any issues with too hot or cold, too humid or dry, expensive energy bills or just are not able to figure out a solution to a comfort issue, please work with them. It's not cheap, but it's 100% worth the money.

Jim was one of a few companies that I received estimates from for insulation, but he was far and away the most thorough and descriptive. As a first time home owner, I didn't know a shingle from a soffit - Jim made the whole process easy to understand. Further, his report on our home after the estimate was like a graduate thesis, but in layman terms. I'm far more educated about my home after working with Jim, and I finally have adequate insulation in my attic and crawl space. He was also reasonably priced (competitive with another estimate and 1/3 of the most expensive estimate that we received). TL:DR - I would recommend Jim and his team to anyone looking to up their insulation game (he also does HVAC and Solar, although we weren't in the market for these).

Only, the entire endeavor took way too long, meanwhile, the house is a mess while you're gallivanting the aisles. Enter Clark Devon Hardware. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and offered assistance. Even if you are just browsing, others will ask you along the way. If you do ask for help, you will either be taken to the item or shown to a person who can help (as in, 'ask this person right over here,' who sees and waves). The team at Clark Devon is knowledgeable, kind, and no nonsense. They know you have things to do and places to be. They will be happy to help you and send you on your merry way. Clark Devon may not be the prettiest hardware store, and perhaps the big boxes may even have slightly cheaper prices (this is unconfirmed). However, it is my go-to for all hardware and home improvement needs, not only out of a desire to support a locally owned business, but because customer service counts for something too. If I am to offer one smidgen of feedback, it's that I wish they were open until later in the evening. For sometimes you come back from work and discover the closet rod has snapped in two, and you need parts to replace and fix.

We had Nextech Energy install a Nest in our condo in Old Town. They are the recommended vendor for the building. They answered all my questions prior to install, followed thru by showing up promptly,(Matt was our installer and he was excellent) and did followup to make sure everything was functioning properly. We recently had an issue with the temp. setting being overridden. Chris responded to our call and thought it was not a hardware issue but a setting and had someone call back to help us with the setting and they walked us through the set up within an hour. This solved the problem. Again, we received a follow up call to review what was done and make sure we didn't have any more questions or problems. I had Nextech out to install a NEST thermostat (my condo HVAC has unique wiring and they were among the only companies to find a way to get it done). Josh was fantastic, not only installing the unit within minutes, but also fixing a bunch of damage done by an earlier installation. My fan now operates at all three speeds, something it hasn't done in almost ten years! Before leaving, Josh gave me a crash course on how to use the new thermometer and helped set up a remote monitor to help even out some of my heating issues. During the installation, they even enlarged part of the return duct at no additional charge, even though it wasn't included in the original quote. Just two days after signing the proposal, the crew arrived early and completed the entire installation in a single day despite 95+ temperatures.
